Bryter Layter by Nick Drake
Jun 27 2026

Orchestral, depressed and introverted, guitar and drums sound amazing. I think Pink Moon is a little better but it's good. Fly is amazing. John Cale on viola and harpsichord. Jazzy.

Synchronicity by The Police
Jun 28 2026

Really not that good. Some bass is ok. Some synths are ok. Mother is truly terrible. Lots of paul simon influence but more basic and it's not good. Pretentious. Boring.

In Utero by Nirvana
Jun 29 2026

Sounds amazing. Vocals can get a bit goofy. Drums are great. Soundtrack to my junior high. We requested a DJ at a dance play rape me over and over again. Some bad memories of getting beaten up a lot. Intro to Radio Friendly Unit Shifter is great. Great feedback sounds. Albini really killed this.

Is This It by The Strokes
Jun 30 2026

Another one that is almost impossible to listen to from overwhelming nostalgia. This was a hit from the first second. The filtering on the vocals is a little much. Not a five star but definitely a great record. Doesn't ask for anything just kinda dumb.

The Genius Of Ray Charles by Ray Charles
Jul 01 2026

Swinging big band. It's great but I don't really connect with it, it kind of turns into background music for me. Probably would like it more on vinyl. Dig the orchestral stuff.

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Jul 02 2026

Need to get this on vinyl, absolutely great.

Truth And Soul by Fishbone
Jul 03 2026

Very tight. Kinda funky grungey. Love Curtis Mayfield but don't love the interpretation. I guess this would be second wave ska. As it goes on I don't really like it at all. Some Prince in here on Bonin'. Subliminal Fascism is pretty good.

Electric Prunes by The Electric Prunes
Jul 05 2026

Great first track. Not really feeling the rest. Last track was truly awful.

Jul 08 2026

Not on streaming. Production is dated but I like it. Could be more bass. Singles off this are bangers definitely.

The Wall by Pink Floyd
Jul 10 2026

Oh man need this on vinyl definitely. Sounds good but...

In A Silent Way by Miles Davis
Jul 11 2026

Easy 5 stars. Terrifying at moments. Basically perfect, cover is perfect, grooves are perfect. Amazing shit.

Horses by Patti Smith
Jul 12 2026

Yeah probably 5 stars. Can't really make it any better. If there were 4.5 I would consider it but it's definitely closer to 5.

The Grand Tour by George Jones
Jul 13 2026

Never listened to this. I loved it. Wasn't excited to listen at all but I actually love sad guy country music. Easy 4 stars. I fucking love pedal steel. Kind of got grating even though it's a short record.

My Aim Is True by Elvis Costello
Jul 15 2026

Pretty good pop tunes. Very 80s. Rock n roll

Achtung Baby by U2
Jul 16 2026

bono is tough to take for me. Guitar stuff is good, well recorded drums but yeah.

Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem
Jul 18 2026

Never really listened to this because it was too 'popular' at the time. Kinda derivative but also pretty banging. Very Bowie. Also sounds like the strokes. This whole list is odd as hell. Basically every track makes me think of something I'd much rather be listening to.

Debut by Björk
Jul 21 2026

Five stars two seconds in.

Celebrity Skin by Hole
Jul 25 2026

Way better than expected. Kind of very much a secret pumpkins record.

Pretenders by Pretenders
Jul 26 2026

Majorly overproduced. Don't really like it and never have.

Frank by Amy Winehouse
Aug 04 2026
Killing Joke by Killing Joke
Aug 06 2026

Requiem is an absolute banger. 4 stars.

What's That Noise? by Coldcut
Aug 12 2026

Mark E Smith track was good. Good collages but tiring after a while
