Catchy electronic pop-rock. Not my usual listening style, but I can see why people like it. Well produced and thought out.
Cool funky music. Some nice catchy songs and some really smooth rhythms.
Melodic and catchy songs. Really enjoyed the songs, though didn’t really pay too much attention to lyrics.
I really like this album. A lot people commented saying that Foo Fighters in general is generic but it’s just rock/alternative music, it sounds like that. It’s nothing groundbreaking or revolutionary but it’s enjoyable.
Super solid opening and then the rest of the album sounds like see Emily play by pink Floyd sung by the Rolling Stones on repeat. Not saying it’s bad but it gave that vibe and was hoping the rest of the album was like the first song. Very particular vibe
This sounds like if that one theater kid in high school got his wish for making a musical but had the grammatical skills of a second grader.
A couple of good songs, the rest is just guitar noise with voice sounds. In that realm it’s quite punk but some songs just aren’t good. Good songs carried the album.
The drugs are very evident in this one. Syd got caught up on the fact that he could make his guitar sound like a chicken that he forgot to think about if he should. I can also see where don’t hug me I’m scared got inspiration from for some of their songs. Some songs aren’t bad but they’re very dated and don’t hold up. I’m glad it got the traction that it got, however, because it paved the way for what followed from them. And knowing the other albums very well makes me rate it lower since the others are so so high.
I’m not a fan of hip hop that much and the little I listen to is more modern, but this was quite nice. There were songs that weren’t for me but I could vibe with others. I liked the samurai story theme but I wish it was better incorporated. Maybe it was but I didn’t pay attention to the lyrics enough. Overall not bad.
This was a strange album for me. I was rocking with it and then it just started to make me feel anxious. I don’t know at what point the songs started to sound like just a bunch of sounds but I did really like here comes your man and monkey go to heaven.
Very classic sound. I like the variety that it has with the types of songs but doesn’t stray from that 70s feel. Overall pretty good, nothing too fancy.
One thing that I’ve noticed from listening to all of these albums is that there are bands whose songs are just noise. Though Nirvana does just have noise, they know when to dial it and when to drop it. They control that grunge sound really well without it sounding like a headache of noise. Endless, Nameless is a good example of this. I also think this album would be super fun to play the rhythm guitar part for.
Good music, nothing revolutionary.
It’s really interesting and different, but some things aren’t very pleasant to listen to. Hip hop isn’t my type of genre either so I’m trying not to be hating. It definitely stands out among hip hop that I’ve heard but it leans into a lot of just random sounds for its songs, like a lot of albums on here I’ve noticed. The album does have its moments with some nice rhythmic instrumentals and classic hip hop type of songs but those odd ones really do stand out. It’s ultimate down fall is that it tries too hard to be revolutionary
Good music, I like the vibes but it really doesn’t do much else. It really just faded into the background while I did other things and nothing stuck out. The whole album feels the same, which is nothing bad but worth mentioning. Overall not bad.
This is quite the strange album. I truly enjoy RHCP and this is no exception, however, there are some really weird lyrics. It strange because these lyrics honestly get lost with the quality of their music. The guitar, the bass, the drums, the vocals, they all soar in this album and show how good of a band RHCP is.
This album feels very generic. I’m sure that it’s on this list for a reason but whatever reason it is, it doesn’t hold up too well. Overall not a bad album but it really just feels like background music.
I think it is astonishing how well produced and good this album is despite the band being on coke the whole recording. Genuinely has everything you could ask for: hard rock, smooth piano, good acoustics, soaring vocals, banging drums, and dynamic almost walking bass lines. My only complaint is the song titled FX, which as the name implies is sound FX. But I think the rest of the album overshadows that insignificantly small part.
I don’t know exactly what it is about this album. It could be the fact that I’m not a huge fan of electronic music, but I found it bothersome. Like the beat felt like it really didn’t go with echos, or the vocals felt like they didn’t belong with the music. I’m not sure if this is just how this type of music is like but I’m not a huge fan.
I really enjoyed this album. It was a great example of that 70s rock and blues fusion that took off in that era. Just great songs overall, noting too revolutionary but just a solid album. I will say it’s a little long but I enjoyed it.
Heard one of their songs before and I like that one. This album is also quite enjoyable, very alternative pop. You can feel that early 2010s vibe from it and I’m probably nostalgic because of it. Also nothing too revolutionary, but just nice to listen to.
This album has a very homey feel to it. I also have a love hate relationship with Bobs voice, sometimes it’s smooth with the music but other times it feels like cutting a steak with a plastic butter knife. Some of the lyrics are also insightful and stand for certain things which I appreciate. Overall pretty good but not my go to.
I am not sure how to feel about this album. I didn’t dislike it but it wasn’t really my cup of tea. Up until the final song, Jungleland, It all fell into the background for me. Jungleland however, I really enjoyed that song. When it came on it was almost as if I had awoken from my tasks and actually started to pay more attention to the music. I can appreciate the album but it was fairly ok.
What a trip. I was having some fun with it at first, nothing out of the ordinary but just nice music. But the vibe went on for too long without making things interesting and I started getting bored. A song or two after getting bored the whole thing switched, we went into a square dance song and I was thrown for a loop. Then they switched it up again and a whole orchestra blessed my ears with some really good classical style music. Then it went back to what it was for a sec before concluding with the orchestra. I really don’t know what to make of this album. It was definitely unique and caught me off guard. Overall though I enjoyed it.
It’s enjoyable. I was surprised with the first song, I’ve heard that rhythm before but I didn’t know it came from here. Not too much to say just nice jazz.
Beautiful voice. I can’t believe I’ve never heard her music before but it was a really nice listen. Thoroughly enjoyed this album.
