Sometimes let down by songs dragging on too long, but that's the nature of prog, some of my favourite pieces of music all time in here though, great to see where the genre "Started" 1) 21st Century Schizoid Man 2) I Talk To The Wind 3) The Court Of The Crimson King Least Fave: Moonchild

Jazz Samba by Stan Getz
Jul 19 2026

Honestly, too much samba, not enough jazz, generally inoffensive background music, wouldn't actively listen again. 1) Samba De Uma Nota So 2) O Pato 3) E Luxo So Least Favourite: Samba Triste

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Jul 20 2026

The old school hiphop flows and delivery will always give me a good giggle, the delivery is certainly cringeworthy at times. Rap rock was in its infancy here, and was definately improved on in its later iterations. First half of the album SIGNIFICANTLY stronger than the second. 1) Walk This Way 2) Is It Live 3) Proud to Be Black Least Favourite: Dumb Girl

Moondance by Van Morrison
Jul 21 2026

I was aware of quite a few songs from this record from the radio and other media over the years, but had never payed it much attention, the mixing is to DIE for and the arrangements are gorgeous. The second half has a significant fall off in quality. But still a great listen overall, will be coming back to certain tracks over the whole album. 1) Moondance 2) Everyone 3) Caravan Least Favourite: Brand New Day

Pornography by The Cure
Jul 22 2026

I came into pornography having already called it one of my favourite albums of all time, so it's a lovely treat to get to listen to it again. The drumming and reverbed out sound owes a LOT to Joy Division, but its perverted in a very Cure way. The album also sometimes veers into proto-industrial sounds that wouldn't sound out of place on a Throbbing Gristle Record. This is also the angriest Robert Smith has sounded on a record by The Cure up to this point (a sound that would be revisited in their much ignored 2000's output), which really adds to the dark, oppressive atmosphere of Pornography. Overall, I'm thoroughly glad I got to revisit this record. 1) The Hanging Garden 2) One Hundred Years 3) Cold Least Favourite: NONE OF 'EM

War by U2
Jul 23 2026

Pleasently surprised at times, but overall a very mixed bag, a standout from their early post-punk years, but U2 have always been a playlist band instead of an album band for me, War was unfortunately not good enough to change that for me, also the mixing is abysmal at times, with drum sounds flat enough to pull me entirely out of the song. 1) Like A Song 2) New Years Day 3) Sunday Bloody Sunday Least Favourite: Surrender

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Jul 24 2026

1) The Gumbo Variations 2) Willie The Pimp 3) Son Of Mr. Green Genes Least Favourite: Little Umbrellas

Jul 28 2026

1) Under The Pressure 2) Red Eyes 3) An Ocean In Between The Waves Least Favourite: Lost In The Dream

Ready To Die by The Notorious B.I.G.
Jul 29 2026

Unfortunately, was genuinely unable to start this project with the knowledge of what's inside, and who produced it...

Darklands by The Jesus And Mary Chain
Jul 30 2026
