Live! by Fela Kuti

Wild and crazy stuff. Made me want to assemble a crew and rob a casino for some reason. Glad I didn’t skip this one. I especially liked the keyboard. 7/10

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Aug 15 2026

This was a pretty good album. Great vocals, really cool guitar tone and style. I liked the covers a lot. 3/5

Marquee Moon by Television
Aug 16 2026

It grew on me a little but then I got tired of it. I knew his voice sounded familiar. I've heard the title track before but it must've been a radio edit because I don't remember it being 10 minutes long. Not bad, and I can hear how they must've influenced bands like The Strokes, but not really for me. 5/10

The College Dropout by Kanye West
Aug 18 2026

Kanye West is a polarizing figure. Unfortunately, he is also a very talented rapper and producer. This is a really good album full of bangers. It's sooo long though. 8/10

A Hard Day's Night by Beatles
Aug 19 2026

I didn't like this very much. Not that bad I guess, just really forgettable songs. Glad it was so short. 4/10

Calenture by The Triffids
Aug 20 2026

Sounds like a Mentos commercial. I wouldn’t listen to a whole album of that. Not even a week in and I am being tested. I’m sure I haven’t even begun to scratch the surface of the music I don’t really want to listen to. Only three more years of this

Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs by Derek & The Dominos
Aug 21 2026

Really great guitar and good vocals too. Pretty sure I have the blues though so maybe I'm biased. 7/10

Definitely Maybe by Oasis
Aug 22 2026

I guess I like this band more than I thought I did. Cool. 7/10

The Genius Of Ray Charles by Ray Charles
Aug 24 2026

Ray Charles, Boy Genius notes Some crazy sounds in this album. Equal parts wild/exciting and smooth/dreamy, often In the same song. Really great stuff that opened my eyes to this type of music. 8/10

Here, My Dear by Marvin Gaye
Aug 26 2026

Great album that kept getting better. Some really cool instrumentation all around, not to mention the vocals. Such a great voice and he does great things with it. I liked this more than I thought I would, especially for how long it is. 8/10

Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton
Aug 27 2026

Killer bass guitar, multiple odd Time signature changes, key changes, and an iconic voice belting soulful lyrics. Of course I’m talking about Dolly Parton’s Coat Of Many Colors. 7/10

Sound Affects by The Jam
Aug 28 2026

I didn’t like this very much. Glad it was pretty short. 4/10

Live! by Fela Kuti
Aug 30 2026

Wild and crazy stuff. Made me want to assemble a crew and rob a casino for some reason. Glad I didn’t skip this one. I especially liked the keyboard. 7/10

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
Aug 31 2026

I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. 5/10

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Sep 01 2026

It was pretty good. 6/10

Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth
Sep 02 2026

This album rocks. I liked this a lot more than I thought I would. Some really catchy tunes with cool transitions. Not even mad that it's so long. 8/10

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Sep 03 2026

I really liked this one. Never listened to very much White Stripes. The songs were all over the place in a good way, from blues rock to bluegrass. 8/10

Heroes by David Bowie
Sep 04 2026

Some really cool sounds on some okay songs. I think the album could grow on me. The title track is really good. 6/10

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Sep 05 2026

This album is so good I don't even know where to begin. 9/10

Songs In The Key Of Life by Stevie Wonder
Sep 07 2026

Good album with a lot of cool songs. Really interesting harmonization and instrumentation. Worth a revisit someday I’m sure. 7/10

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
Sep 08 2026

Strong start, strong finish, medium middle. 7/10

Sep 09 2026

Longer than I would've liked. Also not as good as I would've liked. Some songs are kind of catchy I suppose but ultimately forgettable. Would be fine to put on in the background while doing other stuff. 5/10

Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
Sep 11 2026

Really really good album full of great songs. I grew up listening to Alanis Morissette so some tracks are already in regular rotation but it was nice to revisit some I don't play that often. 8.10
