Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division

Stone cold bangers and basically the blueprint for any post-punk music today

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Sep 02 2026

feels like this is an illegal nay say but drops off massively after 3 or 4 songs

Darklands by The Jesus And Mary Chain
Sep 10 2026

35 mins of rock solid indie rock. So good and it doesn’t even contain Just Like Honey!

Coles Corner by Richard Hawley
Sep 11 2026

There’s underrated, then there’s this absolute gem of a record. Smoother than Nigel Havers dipped in caramel and wrapped in silk.

Aja by Steely Dan
Sep 12 2026

‘Getting into Steely Dan’ is a middle ages pursuit I won’t be joining in with

Unhalfbricking by Fairport Convention
Sep 13 2026

Felt almost like a parody of 60s folk at first to my 21st century ears, but really grew on me. A sailor's life and percy's song are great especially.

Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre
Sep 14 2026

It's a bit too Tomorrow's World for me

Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
Sep 15 2026

we really lived in a cultural wilderness in the late 00s, didn't we

Melodrama by Lorde
Sep 17 2026

perfect pop album, no notes

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Sep 19 2026
Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
Sep 20 2026

It sounds too much like edu-rap to me

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Sep 22 2026

Aside from the couple of hits, really underwhelming

Sister by Sonic Youth

Entertainment by Gang Of Four
Sep 30 2026

The perfect post-punk album. No notes

Too Rye Ay by Dexys Midnight Runners
Oct 01 2026

Probably fine live in a crowded bar for 20 minutes (where they play Come on Eileen three times over). But this is a slog

Deep Purple In Rock by Deep Purple
Oct 03 2026

The name Deep Purple is actually a reference to the colour the average listener’s face goes as their body instinctively cuts off oxygen to the brain to provide merciful relief from hearing any more of this album after the second or third track. I liked the vocals though

War by U2
Oct 06 2026

So much wailing
