Popular Reviews

Treasure by Cocteau Twins

It’s like Tori Amos covered Kate Bush songs with The Cure as her backing band

Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan

I just don’t get it. It’s not fun to listen to. The writing isn’t mind blowing like people say. The harmonica is too much. I feel like I’m being lied to by people who think it’s good.

3 Feet High and Rising by De La Soul

One of the most important and influential Hip Hop albums of all time. The sampling alone is worth four of the five stars I gave it.

Love the orchestration. Extremely well produced. Drive, Nightswimming and Find the River are sublime. Ignoreland is dated and skipable.

Debut by Björk

Some good songs. The singles off the album are good. The rest are mediocre. Repetitive lyrically. Not sure I would go out of my way to listen to the entire album again.

So by Peter Gabriel

My first 5⭐️ album so far. Have known and liked several songs, but never listened to the album. A surprising blend of prog rock, world beat and highly polished pop.

The Band by The Band

Great grooves. Great songs. So many people want to be them. They set a standard

Tapestry by Carole King

Fantastic album. Amazing musicians front to back. 4 or 5 of the best songs ever written. Truly a must listen

The Coral by The Coral

You time travel to the 17th century to give electric guitars and hard drugs to pirates.

Dire Straits by Dire Straits

Exactly my kind of guitar work. Great grooves. A few songs are ok, but most are spectacular.

Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden

Look, I don’t love heavy metal. But I can certainly appreciate the talent and craft in this album. Plus there’s a heavy dose of camp that makes it fun. I probably won’t listen to it again, but I’m happy I did.

A Love Supreme by John Coltrane
Oct 13 2026

While I certainly can hear and respect the craft, there’s just so much of it that isn’t cycling back to a theme or melody. It’s just gets lost in a long, jumbled flourish that never ties back to anything solid. Very challenging to casually enjoy. More theory than groove.

Repeater by Fugazi

It definitely hits that straight edge sweet spot. Not really punk or hardcore. They have a lot to say, but don’t really say anything. Tons of charisma and dirty grooves.

Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós

If I wanted to listen to Radiohead, I’d just listen to Radiohead

Guitar Town by Steve Earle
Oct 16 2026

It’s ok. Definitely dated.

Future Days by Can

I can’t believe I’ve lived in this planet 51 years it this is older than I am. Basically a Radiohead album before they existed.

Crosby, Stills & Nash by Crosby, Stills & Nash

A few of the finest songs ever written. The rest of the album is ok.

First Band On The Moon by The Cardigans
Oct 22 2026

I owned it at one point. It’s good. But definitely not something I would say someone HAD to listen to before they die.

Nevermind by Nirvana
Oct 23 2026

It’s got a couple of good songs, but I’m convinced that the people who place this so high don’t listen to the whole album. Probably their 3rd best album

Elephant by The White Stripes

Juju by Siouxsie And The Banshees

This was much better than expected. Loved the unique guitar sound and rhythms. Will definitely add it to the rotation.

Kid A by Radiohead

It would be a 5, but Amnesiac is better
