1001 Albums Summary

Brown Sugar did not age well Never realized the last 2/3rds of Can’t you hear me knocking was just a sesh - best part of the album A mix of jazz, rock, blues, soul, country and I bet a bunch of other genres. I can why it’s influential but it’s eclectic range doesn’t resonate with me as a cohesive listen thru.

My introduction to The Killers was in high school. The weight room’s sound system played the radio or a selection of pre-approved burned CDs. For all four years we rotated between 6 different playlists. My favorite being the one with Human, Mr. Brightside, Someone Told Me, and All These Things That I’ve Done. These songs are still in my rotation.

There was a quiz on Spotify on how well you know Boston - I got a 36%; mostly because two of the questions were on this album Boston and guessing. I do not know Boston very well. I recognize a good amount of songs from this album but never searched them out.

This was a short album with only 4 songs. I ended up listening to it multiple times over the course of a long car drive. My passenger actually ended up falling asleep to this. Caught up in the Rapture and Sweet love are the best songs. If half the songs from the album are good, it must be a good album.

I’m missing some context for the opening song Exp but this is a banger of an album. You can tell how songs like Castles Made of Sand and If 6 was 9 influenced following rock songs. Great album.
