Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides
SOPHIEWhoever added this is a hero. Losing SOPHIE might be one of the worst things to happen to modern music.

Surprisingly perfect eclectic 2000s rock. An excellent addition.
Ah, my submission. So this is my favorite album from my favorite artist. I think it is important to know that part of my submission is the context in which this album came out. It comes out with a screenplay, a narrative tour set, and an ARG of sorts along with it. I highly recommend the Dissect series on this album, it is quite good. The album by itself is a blending of the excellent writing and delivery of rap by Donald, the enigmatic and unique production supporting, and the strong narrative 5 act structure tying everything together. Altogether, this album is one I'd say also Bridges the gap between his earlier "nerd rap" and later funk, gospel, and Experimental eras, and bends genre to the fullest without breaking it.
I mean, this is almost as fundamental as Enema of the State and Weezer. I believe this was also a snub.
Ohh what a fun funky time!
Surprisingly good! I thought based on the cover it was gonna be 90s trash, but it was refreshingly interesting.
It's Zappa, so enjoyable enough. I didn't see anything that really shocked me though.
Really good soft indie stuff. I think it needs a few more spins, but could see it being in regular rotation.
Surprisingly good, although I'd say it definitely is bloated. I can see why Dave Matthews live might be more interesting.
RIP MF Doom. An excellent addition to the list, very fitting to include one of the most important rappers of the modern era, with excellent production backing him up.
Pretty good Krautrock, although I think the selections on the list cover the genre quite well.
I don't know how necessary I'd consider the album, but enjoyable enough and the smooth transitions were a significant plus.
Yeah, I think this will age better than people think, very strong and introspective tracks on here.
I enjoyed this while it was on, but I feel like it covers a part of music that was already covered in the list.
Surprisingly perfect eclectic 2000s rock. An excellent addition.

Really just a fun time, and the Kate Bush cover was a welcome one.
A good album, but I wonder what was new about it compared to its contemporaries.
I was skeptical of another post-punk, but the Dubliner grit added a little something that elevates the record.
A romp. But honestly, I don't know what niche it covers that isn't already covered, other than Australian.
Yeah, this is right up my alley. I think it is a hair bloated, but it makes up for it in the vibe.
Given the date range, I understand why Louis didn't make a real appearance on the original list, but it still feels like a crucial snub. Excellent timeless addition.
Journey before destination still implies a destination. This has a lack of destination in my opinion, but fun prog.
Yeah, Phish deserves a mention, but man 2 hours is a whole barrel of Phish I didn't need.
Hell yeah this belongs on the list, for ambience alone. I can see exactly why this influenced 28 Days Later, very post-apocalyptic.
Yeah, good stuff, but I wonder what this adds that the other garbage record didn't?
Was this added by a French user? If so, probably more understandable, if not, why is this being added?
I was a little skeptical of this album if I am being honest. There is plenty of thoughtful 2000s indie type stuff on here. But honestly, the concept and execution is deserving of a spot.
I'll just echo the "this is probably the biggest snub" sentiment everyone has got. Although I still think it is insane Sublime doesn't have an entry.
The kind of album that makes you go "hmm".
Yeah, this feels like a snub honestly.
This is an interesting choice for sure, I'm not entirely sure why it was submitted but I enjoyed it. Had a bit of bloat though.
A really pleasant album choice, like a fuzzy blanket of depression.
Yeah, I mean it deserves a spot on the list for being the most popular Christian band if nothing else.
1. Why so many Aussie entries on the user list??? 2. This sounds good, but kind of indistinguishable from a lot of the 80s entries on the list.
Oh yeah, a better entry for Eels by leaps and bounds, just overall very interesting for the time period.
I don't know how to accurately judge this, other than it forced me to wear Sepia tone glasses.
Yeah, I vibe to this. A great addition with some unexpected variety.
Whoever added this is a hero. Losing SOPHIE might be one of the worst things to happen to modern music.
Yeah, I don't get this addition unfortunately, I think Arctic Monkey's work was best summed up by their debut.
This made me feel more intelligent if that makes sense. Great add.
Meh, I don't think it brought anything new personally.
Wow, this is a perfect soft work, and I did feel quite transported to the secluded woods.
I say this with all the love in my heart: I can see clearly the impact this had on the Sega Sound Team circa the late 90s/ early 00s.
I like what's going on here, but I think the record is too long, and generally suffering from prog problems.
Yeah, I mean, it deserves a spot. Not my favorite though. A little samey.
Yeah, nice soft folksy stuff. Good addition.
Yeah, I like this as a garage rock entry, a lot of the modern user entries are really similar in regards to being in this very niche post-garage sound, but this one still shines for me.
Yeah, there is no good reason this was left of the list. Kind of THE pop-punk album in my mind.
Yeah, a good addition to round out 90s punk.
Honestly surprised this didn't make the original list, because TOOL is such a "music lover's band", but a great addition that harkens to other entries such as NIN, Bauhaus, and King Crimson.
Pretty good rock, but what does it bring that wasn't already brought?
Boogie wonderland. Nuff said.
While his stuff isn't really my bag, it feels like a necessary addition.
If you like any modern indie, chances are you can thank these guys for their influence. Definitely a snub on the original list.
Ooh, an interesting entry, I had not expected someone to throw in some Latin Ska. I liked it, very tight, punchy, and fun.
Honestly, most of the record was just ok, even though I love Krautrock. However, the improvs are really where it shines.
Hell yeah, this list needs an entry like this. Dark broody folk with a real pagan edge to it that still has heart.
This would have been an entry of mine if I was allowed 3, so glad to see it make the list either way!
Ok, now this is some really interesting French music, and I love the Afro-Caribbean inspirations.
Yeah, the 2000s girly pop is sorely under represented on this list, and this makes for an interesting entry.
Yeah, I could see why someone might want to include this, protopunk and psych at the same time is quite intriguing.
Ohh what a fun funky time!
It is truly crazy that this didn't make the list but acts that definitely bit Tame Impala did. Good entry.
Atta boy Jimmy, what a chill time.
Eh, I'm not sure I understand the unique appeal compared to a few others on the list.
Yeah. Really strong narrative sound, although maybe a song or 2 too many.
Yeah, I can appreciate what is going on here. My biggest beef with KG&TLW is their wall of sound, but the shortness of the album makes it much more reasonable. Good add.
The thing about Dub, is that it is what I think people are actually referring to as music you need to be high to enjoy. While it does need an entry in the list, I just fully don't vibe as strongly as I do to proper Reggae.
Yeah this is where Bon Iver really mashed a Radiohead and Gotye sound together with his own blend.
Ooh, a very interesting addition. I think there is definitely an argument for inclusion with this, and I think I'll be spinning it a lot in the future.
An interesting addition to be sure. I think there are similar acts on the original list, but it isn't a bad addition in spite of that.
I mean, a great record, but Enema of the State is a bit more vital in my opinion.
God damn, this was Nails. Really good album choice, and not what I expected from Porter Robinson.
Just a hair shy past the fun experimentation threshold, into the "maybe music has these rules for the reason.
A great addition, although it is a little same and is a little new to guarantee staying power
Really strong choice, stuff similar to it, but still holds a unique place
An interesting choice, although I'm not sure that is too unique compared to a lot of similar acts on the list and choosing a live album specifically is a weird one.
An interesting add certainly, although maybe a hair too long for my liking.
Not sure what makes this stand out to the other 2000s Rock. Not bad, but just not very noteworthy to me.
Short and sweet, just like I like 'em. And also fairly unique in the modern sound palate.
I mean, this is almost as fundamental as Enema of the State and Weezer. I believe this was also a snub.
I kind of get the submission, but long live Albums are just a little tougher for me.
At the beginning I was thinking a 2, but some of the less hard-core tracks showed up and I was having more fun with those.
I don't think this is that bad, but rather I think other Albums kind of handled this sound just way better.
This was a great addition, I feel like some of the examples of this sound on the original list were very unique, but this was much more in the zeitgeist in my opinion.
I love Nu Metal, so an easy up for just that. And Shoots and Ladders is an incredible track that really enhances the album. However, Follow the Leader is a stronger Entry, and shows off the band's best features.
I enjoyed it, but did feel it outwore its welcome at a point, maybe a little tighter would have elevated it for me.
Wow, I'm actually baffled that A. This didn't make the original list B. This didn't sweep the US Such a strong choice for a more modern record. I'm a huge fan.
Great album, but does feel maybe a hair bloated. I loved a few tracks of this album enough to elevate it to a firm 4 though!
I'm mostly surprised at this being the submission for They Might Be Giants. Pretty Damm fun though.
I didn't dislike anything about this, but there was nothing that yanked it into the 5th star realm for me.
I liked this, but I did not feel it had a needed slot in the list for me.
Excellent addition, I always enjoy the 80s Waters sound and the weird shit it does.
Yeah, I mean not awful industrial, so I think it could make an argument to get there, but I still don't have to like it.
This I feel pretty confident as a very recent entry, as they are definitively at the bleeding edge of a newer genre. And it is dope as hell, which helps obviously.
Enjoyable album, maybe a hair close to a 3 for not being unique enough compared to the rest of the entries, but still good enough to hold the 4.
While I like Illinoise a bit more, I think this entry is a fantastic choice as well, with a tight and atmosphere set of tracks.
The other Gambino that needs to be on the list, full stop. I am happy you added this, since I couldn't after adding Because the Internet.
Honestly? I don't get it. There were other Rock entries that I feel like accomplished what this brings, and only the one track on this really elevates it beyond monotony.
I like Primus, but something about the production is a little dated and Muddy for me, so having to be honest here a bit.
A lot of other people have said what I might say, but I will add, it was fun to learn where the sample in Eminem's "Berzerk" came from!
Eh, fine.
I like the more upbeat tracks here, they really stand out for me. The Downtempo stuff is fine, but maybe a little tired.
Not as good as the debut, but still a ton of fun.
A fun vibe. It might have touch on some similar stuff to Riot Grrrl acts, and particularly seems quite similar to Siouxsie and The Banshees. But nice to hear with some modern takes on production and writing.
Yeah, sure. I think it gives a very nostalgic experience that I enjoy quite a bit, but probably wanted just a hair more diversity in the record.
Yeah! Fun jaunt of a record I'd say!
Far Too long, the other Marillion entry I preferred far more
I'm a huge fan of anti-folk and folk-punk, so Adam Green kind of sits in a staple place in my heart.
Comparing this to the White Album is incredibly accurate. A couple songs do take a notch down, but I thoroughly enjoy the entry.
I enjoy this, and I am always a little softer on Hip-Hop, as an avid fan (and also because there are a bunch of close minded rockers on here). I do think that Dizzee Rascal has a better UK entry on here, but still a fun album.
Fun entry, filling in some of that millenial indie stuff that the original list lacked.
Honestly, kind of crazy this isn't on the original list. Excellent addition.
Mmm, not for me. I get Noise Rock, but I feel like it is so easy for it to go over a ledge of unenjoyable accidentally.
A bit of a gap for a hip hop head, filled. I enjoyed it, probably would have benefitted from a little more sonic diversity but the features kick ass more often than not.
Wow, what an interesting record. The sound is intriguing enough that I wanted to spin it again just to understand it better. I think based on that, it earns a 5.
Interesting choice for Vampire Weekend, but not an unwelcome one. Thoroughly Enjoyable.
I am just a fan of adding dub/Reggae diversity to the list, even if I do think the selections originally made are not altogether awful. So good on ya.
A great background record that can slip into the foreground easily. I had heard a lot of Snarky Puppy previously, so it was cool to listen in one continuous shot.
Incredibly surprised by the variety of sound in this, although I do wish it was a hair shorter. Good pick though!
There is an incredible lack of j-pop (and other east Asian music in general) so this was a fabulous add.
I think I can safely say, nah. I don't really need this in the list.
