Pioneering a genre is bound to result in kinks that require ironing out. Lots of good ideas held down by an abundance of sections that droned on for too long. "Moonchild" really drags my overall rating down. I absolutely hated it. Fave track: The Court of the Crimson King Cool flute solo, probably more enjoyable because it came on after Moonchild. 2.5/5
Jumped a lot between tolerating and absolutely loathing the singer's voice. Very chill and easy to listen to album, which isn't my usual taste (progressive metal). I've never been a lyrically focused person, so the little additions of brass and harmonica in some songs did help to make the overall listening experience a little more interesting. Very middle of the road album from first listen. No standout tracks, but also no stinkers I was desperate to skip. 3/5
This band didn't sound like I thought they would. Got a bit too 'country' for me towards the end but most tracks were toe tappers. 4/5
I hated every ounce of this 1/5
I was thoroughly enjoying myself up until about track 7 on the album. I glanced at Spotify and saw there were 12 tracks left. This would be the easiest 4/5 if the album was half the length. Upbeat folk tunes that I could see myself getting out of my seat and dancing at the pub to. I have to rate this on a complete listening experience. The second half of the album is an absolute slog to finish and gave me very little enjoyment outside of The Dubliners features. 2/5

It's not my fave style of music, but I also can't really fault the album. Fave track: Dancing in the Dark 5/5
My dad listened to Cat Stevens a lot while I was a kid. Super chill and enjoyable album overall. 5/5
Very cool recommendation of a genre I'm not familiar with finally. Liked learning about ragas and how Indian music differs from western music. The educational/instructional aspect did take me out of it while I was trying to enjoy it though. Cool to learn, less cool to listen to and enjoy. 2/5
Started strong but fell off about half way in 2/5
Interesting vocals, varied style for each song, yet somehow a lot of them blend together and sound same-y. Started off okay, but was bored out of my mind by the end of it. 2/5
They cranked up the genre variety at the cost of writing a few genres well. Overall the album is very mediocre, and almost soulless because of it. 2/5
One of the best pop albums of the 90s. Not a bad song on this album.
Listened to a lot of Maiden though my dad while growing up. Enjoy the Bruce era more but it's still a solid old school metal album 4/5
I like some of the bands they clearly later inspired, but it's a bit raw and samey for me. 2/5
I guess the benefit of a 43 track album with 90 second songs is that the tracks you don't enjoy are over quickly. Unfortunately I enjoyed barely any of them. 1.5/5
Lovefool is obviously the song everyone has heard, but I was pleasantly surprised that the rest of the album was so enjoyable. The vocals felt like a warm, comforting hug. The arrangements on each track were fairly interesting for a genre that I generally find fairly boring. 5/5
