The Last Of The True Believers
Nanci GriffithGood, but imho nothing special Country album.
Good, but imho nothing special Country album.
Avalanche is great, although a tad bit long. That actually holds up for the whole album; the songs last too long for my taste. The album couldn't hold my attention when listening from front to back either. All in all I rather listen to Nick Drake or Tom Waits when I'm in the mood for melancholic songs.
Not exactly an easy listening; I like certain kinds of progressive rock but this is a tad too much for me. Roulette dares was the one song I kinda digged, the rest is okay to meh.
A good Neil Young album, but certainly not his best. Some songs really don't click with me (farmer John for example), but they are compensated with truly great songs such as Country Home and mansion on the Hill. Will listen to this some more in the future.
Ok album; superfly being the best song. Sounds a bit samey
Great album, like oasis but a tad bit more upbeat
Good jazz album, not my cup of tea though
Like this one more than LA woman.
Good acid jazz album with some funk elements. Doesn't really grasp me though
Not bad, not great. A bit to soft for me and a lot of songs are a dime a dozen. Most of Us are Sad and Train leaves here this Morning are the better tracks, both sounding a bit like Neil Young. Vastly inferior to Hotel California.
Great album! Especially ambulance blues, on the beach and see the skies about to rain are terrific songs. Not my absolute favourite Neil Young album, but still a masterpiece in my eyes.
First listen did not really do it for me, but relistening a couple of times did help. Underwater moonlight, insanely jealous of you and positive vibrations are the better songs I would say. Rest is kinda okay; didn't listen to all 30 bonus tracks though
Great album of which I only really knew the classics Shout and Everbody Wants to Rule the World. Really enjoyed Head over Heels / Broken and Mothers Talk as well. Very Strong album overall; will listen to this one more often from now on!
Didn't spike my interest; okay background music but nothing too special. Sounds a bit samey. Show Girls, idiot brother and early years are a tad bit better/more special and mayne worth revisiting.
I fully respect this album and understand why people would like it; it's just not my cup of tea. Once in a lifetime i could revisit; the rest of the album I would rather not listen to again.
This one intrigues me. Should listen to it a bit more, but certain songs I already quite enjoy, such as Turn to Stone, Mr. Blue Sky and Across the Border. Quite long with 17 songs though; some felt a bit to filler to me right now.
It's fine I guess, nothing that stands out too much for me personally. The Headmaster Ritual and Nowhere Fast where a tad bit better than average.
Great album, although it may sound all a bit samey. Tutti frutti is still a classic, as is Long Tall Salley.
Great jazzy background album for when you want to chill. The five songs are quite long, but with this kind of music this is totally fine.
Okay album, a bit too mocht filter to my taste. Stone on the water is genuinly great.
Yeah this is not it for me. Too grungy and non coherent and the voice just doesn't do it for me.
Great album that I didn't know yet. Cemetery gates, bigmouth strikes again and there's a light that never goes out are real joys to listen to, as are the catchy Frankly mr Shankley and some girls are bigger then others. Some other songs are just okay though. A lot better than Meat is Murder imho.
A bit too smooth for me. ; doesn't really stick either. Good background music. Sooth operator is quite catchy though
Tonite and call the Police (which sounds a bit like the killers) save the album from one star; the rest is really not for me.
Not my kind of Jazz; fully understand that some might dig this though. For me it is too frantic
Good, but imho nothing special Country album.
This album really grew on my with every listen. First 6 songs are all bangers and the others songs are quite good as well. Really liked Show some respect and I can't stand the rain. Funny to hear the Dire Straits influences on Private Dancer as well!
Some numbers are okay and even recognizable (buffalo stance); some are really not for me (especially the rapping parts).
Not exactly an easy listening; I like certain kinds of progressive rock but this is a tad too much for me. Roulette dares was the one song I kinda digged, the rest is okay to meh.
Forgot to rate this one after I listened to it some while ago. Couldn't remember a single track; after a relisten I remember why. Nothing here that really spikes my interest.
A good Neil Young album, but certainly not his best. Some songs really don't click with me (farmer John for example), but they are compensated with truly great songs such as Country Home and mansion on the Hill. Will listen to this some more in the future.
Really difficult to rate this one. Some tracks are good to amazing, some things really don't stick for me. All in all an okay album with a great singer
Surely not bad, but it just doesn't really grasps me. Nothing really stands out as either outstanding or bad.
Great Jazz, just not the kind I would listen to in my spare time.
Only Happy When It Rains and Supervixen are okay and recognizable, the rest is not that interesting imho. Nothing too bad either though, just not something I would revisit.
Great album with a great flow. Favorites are Cowboy Movie and Orleans. Not all songs are that recognizable though, even after multiple listenings. Guess I need to keep listening!
It's okay, it's just that nothing really sticks for me
Great album! It took some time to really appreciate, but it's just a really fun album to listen to. Favourites are Comme Si, Goya Soda, Damn and What's-her-Face. Only listened to the English version though.
Ok but totally forgetable britpop album
Weird but in an uninteresting way. Some Indian influences which spices it up a bit. I Guess the Beatles cover at the end was okay...
Okay Indian music, just not something I Would normally listen to. This album does not change that.
Terrific Queen album. Absolutely love the streak of Tenement Funster, Flick of the Wrist and Lily of the Valley. Stone Cold Crazy and Bring Back that Leroy Brown are bangers too. If that wasn't enough, this album also has the best Queen song in Killer Queen.
Just a great album. Scarborough fair is a perfect opener, follow-up patterns has something special as well. Cloudy and homeward bound are absolute bangers, as well as the dangling conversation. Last few songs are less special imo, but all and all still a terrific album.
Great songs, but a tad too long and too much of the same for me to enjoy the whole album in one listen.
Never had I really listened to a Bossa Nova album; I sure wished I did earlier. The album is a great album to listen to, especially as background music during study and work. Although I can not just name one track that really stands out, I do find myself going back to this album all the time.
Cool album; sounds a bit like the Beatles sometimes, but with it's own twist. Without you and Coconut are my favourites. I see a lot of people loving Jump into the Fire; that one isn't really my jam though.
Not bad, not great; didn't mesmerize at all.
I don't know man; this album just doesn't really do it for me. Sure it's fine, but it never really seem to grasp my attention. Everybody Hurts and Man on the Moon are fine songs by themselves, but not especially interesting for me. Favorite song I think is Nightswimming.
Great Sauna music! Kinda difficult to actively listen to though, although I understand the appeal and it's importance in music history
Okay blues, nothing too fancy or interesting for me though
Quite a fun album! Sounds a bit Beatles like, but still has very clearly has it's own character as well. Favourites are David Watts, Death of a clown, Harry Rag and Situation Vacant. Lat half of the album is okay, but it does finish with Waterloo Sunset. All with all a enjoyable album with a great first half.
I think it's a bit to melancholic for me; okay music though.
Goin' Back and Wasn't born to follow are great tracks. Rest are not really that special to me or a bit too weird (looking at you Moog Raga)
I only knew Ace of Spades before listening to this album. Although I think this is still the best track, there is some seriously good stuff on here. I really like I Love me like a reptile and Fire Fire. Jailbait is a great track as well, if you ignore the dubious lyrics at least. It does sound a lot alike and listening to the whole album from start to finish is a lot of Lemmy's voice to listen to, but all with all I still think this is a great album with some really outstanding tracks on it.
Album starts out with some bangers; Gimme All your Lovin', Sharp Dressed Man and especially Got Me Under Pressure are terrific tracks. Legs is also a fun track, and TV Dinners also does it for me. The rest of the tracks are also okay, but it all does sound a bit samey. All with all a great album though!
The titular song Paris 1919 is quite nice; the rest of the album are plain but harmless pop songs with some orchestra mixed in.
Dime a Dozen (blues) rock album. Nothing really interesting nor terrible to be had here.
Avalanche is great, although a tad bit long. That actually holds up for the whole album; the songs last too long for my taste. The album couldn't hold my attention when listening from front to back either. All in all I rather listen to Nick Drake or Tom Waits when I'm in the mood for melancholic songs.
Two stars for the sheer balls to make something so ''weird''. Didn't really click with me though
Good background music! Nothing too special for me here though; I prefer my Bossa Nova to be instumental
Some highs and fewer lows here, with most of it being inbetween. I quite like So you wanna be a rockstar, My Back Pages and Everyone's been burned. Really dislike Mind Gardens, and to a lesser extend the end of CTA 102 (what the hell was that?) and Why.
Man, this really is just the same kinda song on repeat right? I mean, I really like Blitzkrieg Pop and Beat on the Brat is also nice, but listening to this album from front to back is a real challenge for my. Still 2 stars because the songs individually are still okay.
Really had to fight to listen to this from front to back. Nothing here for me; the weird punk/raggea/ska vibes do not mix an match for me.
3 very strong songs (You Oughta Know, Ironic and hand in my Pocket). The rest isn't bad either, but doesn''=t catch the same attention as the other 3. Do find myself wanting to turn this album on though, so still giving it 4 stars
