Completely new to me, excited to try it out.
Wow, yeah, that was pretty bad. Sounds like something max would make in an imitation of 70s British pop. Had some hilarious songs tho, felt like a funny folk album. Not good though. 1.5 stars if possible, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt

Eh. Constantly teetered between the idea that the flow is good with whack beats and that the beats are fire with whack flow being spit over it. Had a few good songs but not something I'll be revisiting, solid 3/5 stars. Feels weird putting it at the same spot as muddy waters, but it's definitely not like listening to an album of only bongos. Pretty boring.

Wait I recognize this album, sail away always found its way onto my playlists but also was always a song I found myself skipping. So idk what that bodes for this album. Here's the thing, I'm at the second song and I already know how this story goes. The songs are good, but it's not something I'll come back to. It's the music you would hear in the background at the white person barbeque, but those damn blacks having their cookout 50 yards to the right of you in the park are blasting their music and the Mexicans 100 yards behind you are seemingly building a chipotle and playing music from mos eisley taqueria just loud enough to make you wonder what happened to the neighborhood park. Solid 6.5 out of 10, screw this rating system, I'm calling for quarter stars now.

Excited to see if my middle school self that listened to two songs of PAC and two songs of biggie before deciding that biggie is better was correct...
Yeah he was. This made me appreciate Diddy a shit ton more tbh. Found the beginning to be eh at first but the bottom like 80% of the album was great. Gimme a half star dammit, 4.5 prolly? Idk what a 5 is for me tbh, unsure if I'm giving it that half star for the album's significance or because I like songs about slanging dick that have sex noises

Now, I've listened to the who before and remember them being ok...
Ok wow. This was so bland it was infuriating. Maybe it's because I'm at work, but I listen to most of these albums at work. The entire time I was just waiting for it to end. It was like they wanted to be the Beatles... But weren't good at it. I mean honestly, I liked the Ian dury album more because it at least had a few memorable hilarious songs, these were all so bland it blew my mind. It's not bad music per say, but easily the most forgettable album yet. 1.5 may be harsh, but that might be the rating for me, unsure.

Sometimes it's hard being a contrarian (I'm a Samsung guy). This album deserves all the praise it's getting. It's funny, I remember in high school people thought it was cool to dislike the Beatles, what a rubbish lot. She's leaving home surprised me, i like it, same with being for the benefit of Mr kite. I enjoyed within without you. I'm gonna say a 4.75, it's nearly a 5, but I've decided that to be a 5 I have to know nearly every song and this isn't that for me.

Idk, let's see
I fucking hate the British, only thing those wankers got correct was their sport and their funny ass swears. All I've heard my entire life is "oh, the Brits make great music." "Oh, the English wave was huge". "I can't wait for one direction to run a train on me" "music didn't exist before oasis". I can't stress enough how mad I got listening to "my generation" by the who and then this. This wasn't even that bad, but it's been mid album after mid album and honestly, I'm tired of it (this is definitely my being tired at work talking). My Alzheimer's patients remember our conversations more than I'll remember this album. A very angry and disgruntled 2 stars. Nah maybe I'm being too harsh. I'll relisten to see bc "another girl another planet" is good.
The whole of the law is ok too, a little slow for the whole punk vibe tho
Yeah 2 stars for the number of songs worth listening to

A solid 4. Prolly in that 3.75 range but I like punk, so kill me. Hear a lot of the cure in this, which makes sense bc apparently the saints had some influence on them. I liked it and the music reminds me of snowboarding video game soundtracks from the 2000s a bit, and that's a huge plus. Nothing specific that's super memorable imo, but good vibes all around and It's got some songs I can throw on the snowboarding playlist. Also, i kinda liked the international robot recordings, bite me.

Rising Above Bedlam
Jah Wobble's Invaders Of The Heart
You know how you have that one absolutely batshit right wing uncle? You know, the one that had enough broken guns lying around the house that he decided to sift through them and made a working AR with what he found? Well, this is the music that his sister listens to. That's right, your prius loving, old wave hippie, free spirit aunt. You didn't forget about her, did you? Every time you go to her house you find a new American Indian trinket adorning her "den" and can't help getting wrapped up in the ambiance of the place. She might not be as scary as your uncle, but she whooped his ass into shape when they were younger and unlike your uncle, her bite is worse than her bark. Don't let that deter you from seeing your aunt though. Most of the time when you see her you drive to the woods and go on a hike or she offers you to join her on a flight to rural Oregon. Why's she going to rural Oregon? You're unsure, but from what you know of her travels to Africa and Asia, it's gonna be pretty fun. As soon as you guys get there she asks what you want to do. You're unsure. Why didn't she already have a plan? It matters not. A mere two hours into your walk around this rinky-dink town your aunt stops in a store to go to the bathroom and kicks up a conversation with some local Indians. She walks out the store asking you and your cousin if you want to go to a real Powow, apparently a girl in the local tribe had just reached womanhood and her new friends thought you guys might be interested in coming to the party. You go to this powow and get absolutely blasted off of some fire water as you bond with the tribe. On your way back to the plane you wistfully look out onto the land. You realize you're not a native species here and maybe it's time to go away, give the land back to its original caretakers... "nah that's unreasonable, one man can’t make that large of a difference" you think as you decide to give some money to the new woman from the tribe you just gouged of alcohol and unknowingly impregnated, just as your forefathers before you.
It’s a 3/5 for me, I’m feeling generous, it’s not rock, and I have a feeling it’s the only time we’re gonna listen to something that’s not either Spanish or English and as someone who likes music from other cultures I gotta give it some love. But the dude’s singing is cheeks and dates this album like nothing I’ve ever seen. Does it truly deserve the 3? Is it on par with Oasis, REM, Tribe, Wilco, tortoise, muddy waters, and earth wind and fire? No absolutely not.

You know, they say you never forget your first. Firsts are something to be cherished, held dear to the heart, and looked back fondly upon. Your first kiss, your first house, your first cousin; all of these tend to be looked at with some fondness and elicit a feeling of warmth and happiness. This album is my first. I woke up this morning and felt compelled, nay, I felt destined, to listen to this album on this sordid New England morning. I can whole-heartedly say that this album is garbage. I've heard electronica be described as "transformers having sex", but I know for a fact that bumblebee laying his exhaust pipe in arcee's lil muffler sounds way better than this (prolly more to the tune of harder, better, faster, stronger). This sounds like a guy tripped on a sheet of aluminum siding and thought the sound his head made against the pavement paired well with the siding hitting the open manhole he narrowly avoided as he was having maybe the worst molly trip ever. They say you never forget your first and I think I'll remember that I gave a one star review, but please, if there is any justice in this world, let me forget this album.

My My Hey Hey is a certified godpiece. Thrasher is ok, it's funny to hear Neil Young say rock will never die, his voice just sounds too nerdy to say that. Love that harmonica. Ride my llama was ok, nothing to write home about, kinda boring for a song with a great name. Pocahontas stood out, I really liked that song. How far have we fallen if we are to have an album with one liked song on it be a 3? It's good music but it's not at the same time. Egad, it's so sad. I liked dirty work in spotify, but then unliked it because I realized that I only liked it because it's a "classic". Realistically it's meh. Off The Wall
Michael Jackson
The year is 2008 (or 2009, I can't remember if it was pre-murder or post). A child around 8 or 9 years of age is walking around target with his mom when he sees an album on the rack for sale right before you check out. It's a Michael Jackson greatest hits album, the white cover one with MJ in mid-air. The child asks his mom if he can get it and she obliges, surprised as the child rarely asked to buy something when he went shopping with his mother. Little Liad plays the album the entire car ride home, and then plays it whenever he enters the car for the entirety of that next summer. He even plays it on the CD player in his house whenever he can. The album becomes the first ever CD he has owned, and the king of pop gets the child to shake his romp like nobody's business. The summer is winding down and Liad is over at his aunt's house in Harvard. He is seeing his cousin for the last time before she goes back off to college and he misses the closest cousin he has for another year or more. He sneakily tries to leave his most prized possession in her car as a going away present thinking that she'll enjoy MJ's golden chords and think of her ridiculous little cousin as she's studying. Instead, she found it before the child left her house and gave it back to him saying, "You love this album so much I'm surprised you forgot it".
In theory, if this were me as a child, I'd have loved to hang out with MJ for a day or two as a child. He didn't molest them, he fulfilled their dreams and now they're power hungry LA rejects, what could you expect.
On another note, this album is chill, it's a 4.

It started off pretty well, I was thinking solid 3 with potential for a 4. And then after the first song I started to feel drained. And then I began to wonder if my taste is actually shit. And then I began to wonder if I'm more into music that is "purely" a particular genre. And then I began to wonder why spotify said basquiat listened to this. And then I began to wonder if I needed to listen to this before I died. And then I began to wonder why I was doing all of this. And then I began to hold my breath to see if I could pass out. And then I began to wonder if this was secretly a sabres of paradise album. And then the fourth song started. And then the album ended. And then I arrived at work. And now I'm writing this. And then I'll listen to more albums. And the cycle will repeat.

I already know this is gonna be a 3. I don't think it's gonna be something I'll remember, but the instrumentals will be solid and I'm not a flagrant hater of Neil Young's voice like some people (it's max brodsky, the people I am talking about is actually one man and that man is max brodsky, he currently resides on cranberry lane and has somehow roped 3-4 individuals into a 3 year commitment of album listening and we can't escape, if you're reading this, send help. The 3-4 of us have become appreciators of each others' wit and music taste but we can't escape, we can never escape, oh god he's coming, I can already see the texts I'll receive, oh god what have I done. Have mercy on my soul.)

The B-52's
You kiddos ever watch third rock from the sun? The hit 90s sitcom about aliens that are living on earth. Great television from childhood right there. Anyway, there's this one character played by french stewart, he was kinda like the sheldon before it became maybe the worst sense of humor ever (it still wasn't that funny, autistic mannerisms aren't my cup of comedy tea (most likely due to some of my 'tism tendencies)). This album sounds like it was made by that character, squinting the entire time and saying random shit that sometimes sticks and sometimes makes a scene so incredibly awkward that all you can do is laugh (I just looked it up, apparently Stewart's character squints the entire time because Stewart was high at his callback for the role, that's legendary stuff right there.) Except instead of laughing and being awkward, this album was bad and made me annoyed. Do better, there were even some nice surf rock vibes in there and it made me upset to hear it be reduced to trash. It feels harsh to give this one star, but it also feels so right, definitely better than sabres tho... Ok I should stop typing nonsense and attend to my alzheimer's patients.

Holy shit I'm really liking this album so far, kinda surprised how up there it is
Yeah I mean, is it as good as the past two albums or some of the other 4's I have? Nah, but its better than a few of them and I'll ride with the 3.75 to 4 on this baddie....

Californication
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Actually diabolically hard to listen to while studying, got distracted at so many points... Doesn't take away from the greatness of the music at all. I love the chili peppers and this album is obvs up there for me. A lot of people don't like it bc they're wanna be hipster $#^kheads who think they can claim a very popular rock band for their own and then rag on their music when they get big or deviate from their roots in the slightest. Go gobble some $#^ks you f@#kin hens.

Apocalypse 91… The Enemy Strikes Black
Public Enemy
"There's no place for gays. When God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, it was for that sort of behaviour"
"If the Palestinians took up arms, went into Israel and killed all the Jews, it'd be all right."
"Jews are responsible for the majority of the wickedness in the world"
"I told him about the history of him and his people about the Ashkenazi, the Ashke-Nazis, and when I laid it on him he couldn't handle it and I'm like, all right, which is common knowledge today everybody talking about it, you understand what I'm saying people are making books about it."
Fuck you professor Griff you antisemitic piece of dogshit. Fuck you public enemy for being spineless cowards. Talking about your own struggle while stomping on the struggle of others'. Proceeding to have your "minister of information" (you goofy assholes have the same group organization skills of the klan) spread more misinformation than trump did during the election and biden did during one of his sundowning speeches is actually the best thing you could've ever done, discrediting your dumbasses. Oh, let's mention the fact that y'all are "unified" and tried to bring the group back together with prof. griff but the people rejected your racist asshole friend and you ditched him and proceeded to make bank whilst publicly distancing yourself from him when in reality we all know he was chillin with y'all at every chance he could. Go fuck yourselves.
