Third
Soft MachineYou do a track, and you do a track, and you do a track. Play whatever you want but don’t tell anybody else what you’re doing. We’ll just mash em all together in the end. Ugh.

It’s like an ogre. Layers I couldn’t hear thru speakers were great in the headphones.
Some of the songs were rather painful, but the album was saved by the last two, which were excellent. I like me a little jazz in my rock and roll.
Not bad, just boring.
A few moments of interest but on the whole just not my style.
It was better than I expected, but that wasn’t a high hurdle to clear. Funnier was when The The ended, my streaming service played Talk Talk and served up their five star song, It’s My Life.
Good stuff. I remember when 2014’s Morning Phase came out I listened to it three or four times thinking “hey Beck’s really good” and I should go back and listen to some other stuff. Of course, squirrels and other shiny things, I never did. So I’m glad this album came up in the rotation.
Great stuff, good jams on the third disc and several awesome songs across the first two that still catch the spirit 50 years later.
Although they have some excellent songs (Waiting on a Friend) I’m just not a big fan of the Stones. This album was a reminder of that.
Well I’ll be. I did not know REM took inspiration from Lou Reed/Velvet. On the whole this sounded dated.
The Weight is a great song but the rest of the album kinda bored me
Great voice. Some of the songs sound repetitive but then some of it is pure emotional and musical goodness.
I never heard of anything by this guy before today. I was very impressed. Is this another case of separating the artist from their art?
Wow, this was fun!
I don’t even have to listen to this one. 6 stars if I could give it.
Billy Joel is one of my all time favorites. This album is not even in my top 3 from him. And yet, still 5 stars. That’s a whole lot of awesome from one person.
He probably could have had a lot more hits if they just released more songs.
I’d like to give half stars, this would get 3.5 from me. This was energetic, tight, fun.
Repetitive and uninspiring
Now that’s music. The voice complements the instruments and the songs are real music. Jazz has soul. Not like today’s garbage where the voice is the whole song supported by a boring braindead note or chord. And going back to Billy Joel who we heard a week ago, one of my favorite songs from The Bridge album, is a duet with Ray called My Baby Grand.
Again with the half stars. 7 out of 10 for this one.
Some good moments but overall just annoying. What’s with the talking and unnecessary noise elements?
A few good songs, good production, but some real head scratchers. 6 minutes of silence on the last song??? Not creative, not cool. Simply a waste of my time which ruined an otherwise decent track.
Not my cup of tea
I’m not a fan of her voice although in limited quantities with the right song, it works. Some of these songs would be great with another singer. Overall, I really like a lot of the music, especially that instrumental song half way through.
It’s just noise.
There’s nothing technically wrong with it, it’s just boring.
He definitely has different styles across his albums. This style is not one that I like. A lot of it sounds grating, not musical.
Never heard of them before. This was pretty good. 3.5
For me generally not being a Stones fan, this was decent.

Wow, surprised.
This is not music. It’s stories told with a boring guitar strumming in the background.
Take Five alone is worth giving the whole album a listen.
Not all jazz is good jazz. Too uncohesive for me.
Did not listen. 1 star just for the name of the album. Music should appeal, not repel.
