Sound Affects
The JamGod bless Paul Weller.
God bless Paul Weller.
Strangely, I’ve never listened to this album in its entirety though of course I’ve heard many of the tracks in the early nineties and throughout my angsty teenage years. This morning it helped me tackle a brutal hill session in the freezing cold rain and I couldn’t think of a better soundtrack 🤘🏼
A classic. Undeniably smooth.
Sadly the other assorted love songs were a bit dreary. Blues isn’t for me. They all go on too long. Not my favourite. Layla is fab though!
Loved this! What a singer she was. Can’t say I’ve ever heard the album but certainly heard most of the songs on it at some point. Excellent.
Quite enjoyable! Felt like I should be beachside with a cocktail somewhere hot.
Classic. Very enjoyable.
So weird, but so good! Loved this.
Hmm not sure on this one. Yet another album I’ve never heard all the way through. Half of it was wannabe ‘dance music’ vibes and she must have made this when she was in one of her cultural appropriation phases and joined Kabbala or whatever it was. Not my fave.
Very Beatles-esque. Love the first track and love The Kinks in general but they’ve got better albums I would say…
Starts off very noisily then chills out a bit. Strange but not terrible. Unlikely I’ll listen to this again.
I found this really dreary.
It’s a no. I was not on acid when listening to this but I felt like I was on a horrible trip. Far too long. Nil point. Well, one good star. They obviously know how to play their instruments.
It’s a hard no. Listened to this in the gym. It was not a vibe.
Classic.
Bob songs in isolation, great. Many Bob songs in a row not so much.
Much better gym soundtrack than Willie Nelson.
Loved this. That voice.
Definitely not shit but there’s something about bands from this era making lengthy albums that are 30% song and 70% instrumental.. not my fave but dragged on a bit for me.
Absolutely excellent. What a total Queen she was
He has the voice on an angel. Combined with that jangley guitar, just beautiful. Eerie and haunting.
Jangley naughties indie. They weren’t my favourite at the time and now I remember why. Messy and a bit lacking.
Not bad. Not my favourite.
What a treat. Absolutely excellent.
Lovely voice and lovely instruments but just not for me
Not as bad as I was expecting. But not for me. First half is better than the second.
Terrible.
Not for me. 6 tracks and 43 minutes it was always going to be a bit weird.
CLASSIC! Of my era. Finally
Loved it! What a gem. Sounded like it could have been made yesterday never mind 1981!
Very nostalgic of that nineties emo, angsty teenage vibes. But not for me. But not bad!!
God bless Paul Weller.
Certainly got my head banging for a Wednesday morning!!
Wasn’t really sure what genre this was. Nice voice. Wasn’t horrible. But not for me.
It’s Marvin. That voice is perfection. Very short album though.
Meh. Not one of their best
Yeahhhhhh 🙌🏼
Oh, Freddie
Right up my street
No idea what he was singing about but I liked it
Bit drab. Not my vibe.
A real beast of a record
Average
Can’t beat em
