Underground hip hop classic. Clean production. Don’t think a single song misses. Groovy.
Masterpiece of an album. It’s dark. It’s rough. It’s sludgy. It’s suffocating. I feel like I’m trapped and cannot escape. The music equivalent of Saw 1. This album is glorious.
Landmark album. What else needs to be said.
Quirky. Lots of experimental sounds on a rock foundation. Sound and Vision instrumental is niiiice. The latter half could be a Zelda soundtrack. I like the record but don’t know a playlist I would add them to. Enjoying the back half the most. This sounds like it could be the starting point for many bands and genres; this is the oldest album I’ve heard these sounds in. I’d wager this album was a major influence in the entire 80’s sound. Had a very specific aesthetic to it. I anticipate this will get better with each listen. Subterraneans is incredible.
Good golly this is smooth. Very uplifting. I lost my house keys at Costco today and this album made it feel like it hardly mattered.
Dolly Parton has an amazing voice. Coat of Many Colors song is incredible. Also love mystery of the mystery.
Groovy, makes me want to dance around the room. Super interesting, many unique sounds, instrumental changes, etc. Complex. You and I is sooooo goooood. God I’ve heard Superstition too much. It’s been played to death. It’s hard to listen to now. Had to skip. Blame It On the Sun is gorgeous.
Incredibly artistic and complex piece of music. Very emotional. Not a single bad song here. Not even an average song here, everything is top notch.
Love the production on this. Instrumentation is awesome, fun sounds with a combo of harsh low synthy guitar and more dreamy other sounds. Not sure how well these songs sound as singles, but they feel great in an album context. Not sure I could listen outside of that context however. Light 4 stars.
Fun album. Rent and Wake Up are my favorites. Not something I’d listen to regularly. Reminds me of DEVO maybe?
Flawless production. Surprisingly complex. Not an album to listen to the singles, but a beautiful album experience.
Went in expecting a dry outdated classic rock sound. I didn’t expect how good this album would be. Fun easy listen and good music.
Solid classic hip hop album.
Can’t say it’s my favorite genre; Psychedelic and experimental rock generally sounds off putting, jarring, and immature. I think there is something here though. It would take the right mood and more listens to enjoy this album.
Sounds super influential. However it also sounds dated and primitive. Maybe more time would help this album, but not very enjoyable compared to the music it influenced.
Oh fuck this is good. Mysterions makes me feel like I’m underwater. I could see this being my favorite song. Album has a shoegaze feel to it. Mixed with early synth pop. I am always on my toes, not sure what will happen next. Vocals incredible. Roads is amazing, feels like the moment you walk out of a warm event hall into the cool rain outside with the echoes growing distant behind you. Glory box is beauty. Awesome album.
Solid album so far. Feel like I need to pay more attention to the lyrics, like it has a powerful message that I’m totally missing on this listen through.
Easy listening, artistic album. Something I could play in the background as mostly instrumental music.
Classic Lou Reed. Not my favorite album of all time but I respect it. Has some great singles. Walk on the Wild Side, Vicious, Satellite of Love are standouts.
Great classic hip hop album. Clever lyrics, interesting listen.
This would’ve been a blast to be at
This album unleashes an energy that is hard to find in rock music. It is raw and harsh. I’ve listened to this album a ton and it is amazing every time. Highlights include Bad Habit, Come Out and Play, Self Esteem, and Be a Long Time.
Certifiable punk music.
I had no idea Supertramp had music like this. It’s so artistic and complicated. It’s been a journey of a listen. I love it. I kinda feel like the hands on the cover today. I am working from home, sitting by my window and watching all the people walking around outside, while the blinds look like cell bars. Sorry to make things depressing. Anyhow a fun unique complex album.
The musical equivalent of heart palpitations.
Super long. But worth it.
Good album, just not my style.
It’s ok I guess, if you don’t like music
Rap
Solid indie-ish album from the White Stripes frontman. Not a single bad song. Creatively blends neighboring genres.
Unique 90’s alt rock album. Guitar is amazing on this record. Has some of RHCP’s best songs. Feels bloated at times.
Cool smooooth jazz
I want to start the next french revolution and kick my mother in the face. Solid album.
Feels like if you told ChatGPT to make a jazz album with Nico’s vocals. This album confuses me. Sometimes I really enjoy the unique vocals, then sometimes I find them abrasive. This can change even mid song. Instrumentals are solid though.
Takes clear influence from Bowie. This album has depth, complexity, and experimentation. Was a blast to get lost in it.
Could be because I’ve listened to this album a ton already. Or maybe because it is hitting all the right notes for me. This is a staple of the dream pop genre.
Insane album. Percussion is incredible. Never heard of Fela Kuti but his energy is infectious. Check out his wikipedia page. Groovy jazzy african inspired music.
If Velvet Underground was a grunge band.
Easy light classic rock. Nothing stands out as amazing, and only a few songs I’d add to a playlist. But it’s consistent.
I should listen to more blues
