...Baby One More Time
Britney SpearsIt would be cool to find some modern defense of this, but it's just way too artificial to find any interest in. Spears has a good voice and the hits are catchy (but in an annoying way). The worst era of pop?

Surprised it was David Byrne's singing that held me back from loving this. Really loved the odd delivery and exaggerated emotion on some songs but it veered into silly too often. Love the groovy music and steel drums and chimes.
Just great vibes that set a chill mood but tons there to appreciate with more intentional listening.
Confirms my very odd preference for the two Beastie Boys instrumental albums. I just don't find their rapping/singing that fun to listen to, but the music is such a cool mix of funk and rock and hiphop.
How do you get voices and instruments to sound this clean and shimmering in the 70s? Just the coolest vibes.
Just didn't grab me like I hoped. I Shall Be Released is still one of my favorite songs ever, though.
He's pretty cool, really love the guitar and harmonica combo. He's a little too cute for me to ever love the way I love Leonard Cohen.
Immigrant Song is so cool but nothing else on this album is to me. I think it's mostly Robert Plant's vocal.

Holy shit, this was cooking. I think I had a very wrong idea of what this album would be.
Cheeky, kinda funky and kinda funny, not my vibe
Stress is like the platonic ideal of a dance party vibe to me.
Feels lame to not like this but this era of hip-hop doesn't grab me.
Good voice, dorky production/ instrumentation
The British electronic scene of the late 90s/early 00s had the highest highs but also the lowest lows.
British Strokes... yuck
I really expected to hate this, but it was pretty tight. The organ is just a totally uncool instrument though.
She's pretty cool, could use a little more variety
Impossible voice
Not abrasively bad but left my brain two seconds after I listened to it
Love this, they're great
I liked it so much more than Freewheelin'. Great sound, playful but not silly, catchy, funny.
Dorky as hell, cool as hell
Dorky as hell, not cool at all
Sounds just like Steely Dan but somehow isn't Steely Dan... except for that one song about the radio station.
Rocks hard but didn't grab me
I wish the whole album was as good as Sultans of Swing
I dunno, didn't leave any impression
This book/list is too British
Great sounding guitars, but the vocals were weirdly mixed. Never had this critique before.
Cute, kind of catchy, didn't grab me
Kinda catchy, doesn't do it for me like The Beatles
Neat, a mixed bag like most Queen albums
Perfectly fine, just not for me
Good blues, I just don't like blues that much
Good, sad, a little simple, I like his following albums more
Cute, doesn't grab me
The extremely rare feeling that technological improvement has made a piece of music redundant.
It's got two of my favorite singles from the Stones ever but the rest didn't grab me that hard.
Silly to rate it like this because it clearly has ambitious, talent, and intelligence, but it felt like listening to a Monty Python/ Terry Gilliam skit for 40 minutes.
Vibed with this, fun album
Very cool but something about White's songwriting/ lyrics doesn't win me over fully
Quirked up Beatles
Cool and chill, will listen again
Fuller sound, like the tunes less than White Blood Cells
