Worth a listen, definitely different vibe and really interesting possibly early sample based music. Stuck a very niche chord in my brain, but overall, a good experience.
Initial thoughts on the first song are very positive, love the vibe and the samples! Kind of busy with all the different samples, but still pleasant 2 songs in. Not LOVING it so far, but it's chill. Lots of repetitive samples, gets a little old. 6/33 songs in and I'm not sure it's worth finishing the album, but I will power through for the sake of listening to see if the experience changes. 10 songs in and the vibe changed a bit, little more chill, but still pretty repetitive. I like the song "Electricity." 21 songs in - Frontier Psychiatrist (Mario Caldato Jr's 85% Remix) is a good song, very catchy and fun. 26 songs in, not very enthused about the album as a whole. Riding it through to the end. Getting stranger at the end here. Overall I need to be in a very specific mood to listen to this kind of music. It is certainly not horrible, but wouldn't be my goto.
Classic album, not too long but sound's great - not much more to say than that. Nothing I haven't heard before.
3 songs in and it's giving me an Oasis meets The Cure, meets The Beatles vibe that I really dig. It has me intrigued and wanting to listen more. After the first few songs I unfortunately kinda lost interest. The last 9 songs on the record just kinda meshed into one long mediocre song.
It's Simon and Garfunkel, what more needs to be said? True classic.
Great album with a bunch of hits - not really my vibe, but there's a time and a place when its worth a listen.
Classic, Fun, Poppy music. Of course you have to love "One Way Or Another" and "Heart of GlasS" but there are several certified bops on this album that do make me want to bounce around. Definitely worth a listen all the way through to get a taste of some of the other catchy tunes like "Picture This" and "I Know But I Don't Know." Perhaps it is just the big drum parts and loud doubled and panned guitars, but the instrumentals in the aforementioned songs are remarkably progressive and punky whilst still feeling very classic blues/RnR/pop/surf-rock.
I have to admit that I have never listened to Frank Zappa, but the instant I played the first song on the album, I was intrigued to say the least. I genuinely feel like I'm being taken on a musical journey. Love it so far and I'm only one song in - can't wait to keep listening. After listening to the rest, I did sincerely enjoy the album. Sounded great!
Listened to the whole thing - kind of gave me a Stevie Wonder vibe, but not nearly as appealing to me as Stevie. Worth a listen I suppose, but not for me.
Classic album - not much to be said other than I could listen to this all day on repeat. I love ELO and this album in particular is hit after hit after hit.
Bob Marley is great, this album is great. What more needs to be said.
Definitely a time and place for Marley, but always nice to hear when it comes on or someone plays it.
I am not really a fan of Lana Del Ray - In my opinion her songs are very dry and boring and they all largely share the same sound/feel. I generally find her voice unappealing. The last couple songs on this album were a little catchy, but not really something that I would find myself listening to on any regular basis. Not my favorite.
Easily one of my favorite albums of all time, and I don't think I'm alone on that. I can and will listen to this entire album until I am dead in the dirt. For me it is a bittersweet and nostalgic album that will forever have a special place in my heart. Listening to Frank Ocean is a cathartic experience and Channel Orange is one of those things that, for me, makes life worth living.
I like - not love, but like.
Love love love this album, one of my favorites of all time from Coldplay right behind Parachutes. Emotional, beautiful, powerful, and just a great all around listen.
Not a huge Bruce Springsteen fan - music is passable and listenable, but generally not something I would put on myself. That being said, it is in offensive to the ear and is a classic to many. Just meh for me.
Elvis Costello is great - I enjoy this album.
Wouldn't be my first choice of artist, but I do like Jane's Addiction - this album however is not their best. Overall a good listen though, particularly in the second half.
I have not heard of this artist or album, but after a few songs I do like it. Gives a kind of early Foo Fighters/Ratt/Alice In Chains vibe that I really dig.
Not really my cup of tea, but it wasn't awful.
Fabulous album by a truly classic band.
Not my favorite massive attack album.
Not my favorite Police album, but still a great listen.
Good album - I had previously never listened to the entire thing. Back in the day D.A.N.C.E was a smash hit and I'd hear it everywhere, but I had never heard the rest of the album or any other music by Justice.
Little too eccentric from my taste.
Great album, a nice easy listening.
Listenable but not my favorite
Have not heard Jeru The Damaja before, but I really dig the classic 90's hip-hop vibe. Certainly one to listen to again.
Definitely a classic album, easily my favorite Rage album.
Probably a controversial take, but I think the Byrds are very much a dollar store Beatles. Not my favorive, but if I had to listen to them I guess I would, it's still decent music.
Had not heard of this group or album before. Some catchy songs, but nothing that stood out or felt different from a lot of the early rock bands of the same era.
Love love love love love this album - forever one of the greatest.
Absoulte banger of an album, nothing comes close. Love it.
Fantastic album! I could listen to Radiohead all day and night. True classic.
Truthfully not a huge fan of Adele, but this album was a good listen.
I really enjoyed this album, was a nice easy listen. Not super familiar with REM but I was pleasantly surprised after listening.
Interesting listen, I enjoyed several of the songs and was intrigued by the mixture of "samples" or riffs from popular music like The Beatles and other much larger groups. Thourougly intrigued indeed. Good stuff.
Not for me - frankly weird.
Interesting, but just feels like a psych rock band of the 60s/70s similar to The Beatles. Worth a listen, but nothing particularly special in my opinion.
Really really interesting music from Air - first time listening and I enjoyed it thoroughly. This album took me on a trip and genuinely made me feel like I was in a movie. Loved the vibe all throughout and will definitely add this to my library.
Björk is not my thing personally.
Decent album, definitely listenable, but not my favorite.
It's Stevie Wonder, what more needs to be said?! This is a fantastic album, I will forever love Stevie and it is always a pleasure to hear his music when it comes on. Uplifting and beautiful music created by an incredible person and musician.
Very interesting stuff - gives me a Beatles/Oasis/Rush vibe for some reason. Somehow very classic rock, prog rock, and brit pop rock all at the same time. I like it.
You cannot go wrong listening to Biggie. Truly a classic album from one of the O.G.s... literally. Fantastic album.
I had heard the name Peter Tosh before, but never could have named any music by them, let alone told you they were a musician being that I don't typically listen to Reggae music. However, that being said, I do genuinely enjoy Reggae, and I'm glad to add this to my library as it was a pleasurable listening experience.
Hot take...Bob Dylan is okay, but I feel like a lot of a songs just sound the same. It's listenable but to sit down and hear a full album of his songs back to back would not be my first choice.
Not sure what language this is in, but it's kinda catchy. Don't think I'd find myself listening to them again though.
Interesting but not particularly enthused about this album.
Good stuff, I like the vibe!
Not much needs to be said - just one of the greatest singer/songwriters ever. Love Paul McCarney and Wings, plain and simply. Very very good album, and a true classic.
Not my cup of tea, but there were a couple catchy songs.
Obviously a classic album - quintessential 80's music. Time and a place for this stuff, but not really on my list of normal listening. I still appreciate it and will always keep it in the back pocket. Solid stuff.
