Will need to give it a proper listen, but the mix is superb, the songs are unoffensive with a couple of classics thrown in

An absurd psychedelic, electronic album full of superbly crafted soundscapes and whimsical vocal melodies. Well worth a good listen or 10
It's CCR you can't fault it really, but it does give me PTSD from my childhood at the clubhouse with a bunch of bikers off their faces
Another PTSD album, but this time from having to analyse the chart of so what for music language studies. But still a classic jazz album.
Marvin Gaye, the epitome of Motown. With James Jamerson on bass you know the rhythm section will be on point.
Beck never really did anything for me, and this is no different.
But I do recognise the pattern emerging from what I've listened to do far, and that's all of the albums have stellar production, engineering and mixing.
This is THE iron maiden album, coincidentally the first album of theirs I'd heard.
I'm not sure whether this album is genius or horrendous, I find the idea of purposely playing your instrument badly very odd. But at the same time they are incredibly tight as a rhythm section, and you know that every song here was written for that effect, the bass & drums have a nice groove together and the guitar sounds like its both in key and out at the same time, but the odd times they actually lock in, in a more traditional sense you can tell that these are competent musicians playing an almost The Police meets Anton Webern mash up that is both repulsive and addictive
Haven't listened to hip hop since I was a kid, but this has some nice grooves in it
I didn't understand the acclaim of this album when it released, I still don't now. All it is is crappy beats with poorly edited samples, if repetitive melancholic electronica is your thing then I guess this album could be the tits. But I think it's undercooked and overvalued as a musical work.
Certainly not his strongest album, but I am a huge Bowie fan so my feelings on his work is heavily biased.
Just straight up boring and uninspired, if I wanted to listen to something like this I'd listen to Sisters of Mercy who have much better production values and far more interesting songs.
Gotta give em points for the attempt at a souther rock concept double album, but it comes up short. It's more like a long winded collection of bits that are Gaffa taped together to try and make cohesive whole, but for me there's not enough variation in sonic textures to keep me interested, got about 3/4 through it before I tapped out.
I understand the romanticism of the era, but jeez Fats could you not get better musos. About the only that nearly got a response from me was the horns, but then they'd drift badly out of tune and the moment was gone
An altogether disappointing effort from a band that can, and has, done much better.
The mix is all over the place, Bono's vocals are barely in tune and his lyrics are almost adolescent.
Not their best effort, but its got that Motown groove you just can't get anywhere else.

With exception of the last track, which is an absolute gem of a song this album isn’t all that brilliant. Not horrible by any means, there’s some interesting chord changes that go where you wouldn’t normally expect them to go. But certainly not something I’ll be revisiting.

As much as I enjoy experimentation in my music, this just skirts around ideas and just as you think they're onto something the acid takes them somewhere else and it's back to square one. There is some truly interesting snippets hidden in here but finding them was a challenge and not an altogether enjoyable one.
An interesting and ambitious debut album, it bounces around different genres like an unruly toddler with ADHD. 70's theatricality with modern production, a great listen and an album I will revisit.
Not Elton's strongest work, but there's still that magical story telling you can only get from Bernie and Elton in their prime. Still a meticulously crafted effort, the band as usual is on point and the production is nearly flawless.
The kind of your Nanna is going to love and quite possibly the most lifeless Beatles cover in existence, in saying that it does get an extra point for some interesting harmonic movements
I got about half way through before it bored me enough to start yawning, I had to check a few times to see whether the track had actually changed or if it was the same snooze fest.
It obviously speaks to some people because the man has had a long career, but sweet baby Jesus write something different Steve.
U2 before Bono's giant ego got in the way and ruined everything, it's simple, raw and a good collection of well written songs. A nice precursor to the great songs to come from the next few albums.
I was expecting a soul filled funky journey and was sorely disappointed, with the exception of a couple of tracks it was kind of boring. There was some moments where Stevie was showing his harmonic prowess but this was too bland for my palette
