James Brown Live At The Apollo
James BrownThere are very few live albums I enjoy. This ain’t one of them. So much crowd noise.

Enjoyed the album. A lot of talking heads songs I hadn’t heard before. Overall hits, a few misses.
A master of his craft. Super warm acoustics, full sound.
I’ve overlooked iggy for awhile. Solid album but not groundbreaking for me. Lofi 70’s Brit rock
Solid album from that era. More country feel than I was expecting.
The clash is so awesome. At some point I should really decide what my fav album is. This one his good, lots of ska vibes.
You can’t listen to the album and be in a bad mood. If you’re a fan of Louis Armstrong then this slaps.
I love Jamie XX and the xx’s first album but this one sucks. On Hold is the only redeeming track.
Since hip hop is so lyrical dominant it’s difficult for an English speaker to get the full experience of a French rap album. Nevertheless Solaar has great flow, phrasing and the production on the instrumentals is pretty fantastic especially for 1991 hip hop.

Bjork is obviously a talented musician but I just don’t get the appeal.
The instruments at the opening of every track had me excited that it would be good. Then Scott starts singing and ruins the mood.
A 4 track album considered one of the greatest live albums? Come on. Maybe if the tracks were 15 minute jams each. Nope. Total runtime 21 minutes.
Great energy. Reminds me of Operation Ivy.
So awesome. Bluesy jazz with that electric organ sound. Gotta listen to more Jimmy Smith
Well put together album. If I didn’t think of Toy Story the whole time I’d probably love it more.
Whatever you have to say about MJ, Quincy Jones produced one hell of an album. It must have been totally crazy to be alive when this came out.
I enjoy jazz but this is the era I just can’t do. Individually every musician on this album is super talented. When they recorded this it sounds like they were all recording different songs. Sounded like a mess.
Fun album. Someone said “the American beatle” which I could see the connection with a number of his songs.
Solid album and pleasurable to listen to the whole thing through.
Boring old generic country twang. No hits.
Pleasant enough indie rock album that’d I’d be open to listening to againn
As much as I’ve always wanted to love this album it just doesn’t do it for me. No doubt it’s influential and weird and respect for all that.
I always put this below Quality Control but it’s actually a pretty great album. The drums are super crisp and overall great production value.
A defining album at the time. While there are some great songs scattered throughout, as a whole the album is a way too long and has an erratic flow of emotions that feel incoherent next to each other.
Well made but I’m just not into prog rock. It’s like reading a fantasy novel.
While not something I’d normally listen to, this is a solid album. Pleasant relaxing mood for evenings or anytime you want to take a break from your day.
An important work without a doubt. Also a pleasant soundscape of Indian music to put on when the mood strikes.
An album you can listen to anytime.
One of the standards for indie music of this era. Lots of great songs.
I always wrote Rod Stewart off because I associated him with “if you think I’m sexy” and his later raspy crooner era. But his early albums are much more like Faces and really enjoyable.
I didn’t totally love it but recognize its impact.
Much better than her more recent stuff. Listenable!
There’s a reason they’re the GOAT. Great album with a lot of genre variations. Maybe not my favorite Beatles album but amazing non the less.
Just an amazing album. So many songs that have remained hits.
I like some of the specials songs; ghost town and message to Rudy. And I wish I could unhear this album. Loungy and cheesy to the point of self parody. Bummer.
After a random hangout with the band during their tour for this album I picked it up and gave it a listen. It didn’t really hit for me and every few years I’ll give it another chance hoping it grows on me differently. 15 years later and it still doesn’t hit. I don’t know if it’s how it was mixed but for the most part it doesn’t sound right and is hard to enjoy. Maybe David just doesn’t have any rthyme with his guitar. 🤷♂️
Nice concept to tell a story but pretty boring to listen to. Dry your eyes mate, there’s plenty more music to enjoy elsewhere.
Beck makes good tunes.
Solid funk album with a few hit singles
Decently fun early punk album. In perspective that it’s the first punk album, that’s pretty cool.
Fun. It rocks. Couple of big hits.
Pretty amazing story of how this album came to be. A defining sound of classic rock from the late 70’s
I dunno why but I love this album as a whole.
It’s a weird album. Mostly instrumental but not so avante garde that it’s unlistenable. More of an off take on composing an orchestra.
For an old school hip hop album this bangs. I probably won’t pick it up very often if ever, but pretty amazing given its context in musical history.
