Morrison Hotel
The DoorsAt first this was pretty unenjoyable. All the Radio Regulars don’t do anything for me. But a couple of tunes are excellent, especially “I Need You Tonight”. With its funky bass bit, “Thug” is also fun.

It was fine. Couple of banging tunes, but as an album did not stand out.

Top Ten album. An all time fave.
In My Life literally made me cry.
Musically pretty good and genuinely enjoyable. It all feels a little too self serious.
Top Ten of all time. Heart wrenching and beautiful.
Pretty good. Except for title track not much stands out
No
Huge respect for Prince’s genius and talent. But the music doesn’t move me.
Meh
It was fine. Couple of banging tunes, but as an album did not stand out.
Awesome. Fun. Some familiar ones some deeper cuts
Sublime
It’s possible I’m broken. After all this was my generation and I’m supposed to love this band. Just like I’m supposed to love Van Halen. Simply can not stand either one though.
Loved it
Love this album. Takes me back to my college days.
Not for me. Some good parts surrounded by lots of awful parts.
Pretty good. Big band sound not my style
So melancholy. Pro-tip: if you happen to be feeling a little down while listening to this album and mowing the lawn, you can tell inquiring neighbors that “terrible allergies” is the reason for all the tears.
Uh. Some ok tunes. Some bad ones. Nothing great.
I can see why my HS girlfriend was such a fan. Not for me though. Musically there are a few interesting bits. Overall it all sounds similar to me. A little monotonous and nothing stands out.
This, along with 52nd Street, was the first contemporary rock album I bought for myself as a pre-teen. Great nostalgia and much of it still holds up in 2024 for me.
WTH is this? A few funky jams but overall just…. weird.
Not a hip hop fan so wasn’t likely to enjoy this. And didn’t. Don’t really know how to listen to hip hop or what I should be listening for. Using her own name in the lyrics of every song is weird to me.
This is a seminal Joni album and objectively excellent. I was familiar with it but don’t remember the last time I listened start to finish. I expected, and wanted, to love it. But it didn’t really hit. Maybe give it another go in the future.
I don't know what this was, how to categorize it, or what I expected. But it was ridiculously more enjoyable than I thought it could be.
No nearly as enjoyable as the other Leonard Cohen album I heard from this list.
This is not at all what I expected, and was fairly enjoyable.
Meh. A few really fun tunes. Overall not standout.
Seminal album in the annals of folk music. Some tunes aren't my favorite, but overall listenable and meaningful. Tragedy that "country" and "folk" get combined into one.
Turns out I like Lou Reed more than the Velvet Underground. Really thought I was going to love this album (and thought I used to?). Was just meh. Lots of psychedelic 60s sound but nothing really stand out.
This was fine. Someone else described it as “bar music”. An apt description. Doesn’t make it bad, just not very interesting
Went back and forth on this one between, “wow!” and “whatever”. Some tunes almost straight folk while others reminded me of the Cocteau Twins. Definitely tunes for late-night chilling.
Such a phenomenal album. And not even my favorite from them.
Had never heard of the band, the album, or any of the songs. Was way more fun than I would have expected. Probably more of a “3.5” but giving it a 4 so I remember to give it another listen
King of pop for sure. Tons of respect for that. Maybe I was in too shitty a mood when listening, but mostly didn’t enjoy.
I expected to — wanted to — despise this album, based solely on the misogynistic title of the first track. Lyric aside, though, it was a pretty awesome track. Even added it to a “faves” list. And that continued throughout the album. Was unfamiliar with The Prosigy (I’m a DeadHead and classic rock person) and enjoyed this far more than expected.
Underwhelming. Some bland 80s pop-sounding stuff.
Classic Dead album. Being a longtime Deadhead, there are some tunes on here that are better than their typical live versions (Box of Rain), some that are nowhere as good (Truckin’, Sugar Mag) and some I don’t care for either way (Attics of My Life)
Pretty. But I’m very bored listening to this.
Was fine but not for me
Some great catchy tunes. A few I didn’t know were these guys.
This was bad
Powerful and meaningful and all around great excellent. But ultimately wasn’t my jam.
Wow this was awful. There's that one popular tune which is OK. And the intro base line on the 2nd track was cool. Otherwise hard pass.
Another classic early Dylan album. Some excellent tunes though not quite the same punch and some other work.
Some truly great pop tunes from the 80s. As an album — a complete work of art — it’s only meh.
Weird and trippy and not at all what I expected. Very artsy though
That was.... interesting. I guess? Maybe awesome if you're trying to impress folks with a pretentious taste in music. There were admittedly some great guitar riffs, but overall not particularly enjoyable.
A bit interesting here and there. Not really captivating for me
Was unfamiliar with much of this. Some amazing tunes, like Sara and a few others. And some really mediocre stuff that sounds like it’s trying to copy the Beatles or Billy Joel in places.
Thoroughly enjoyed this. Was excellent as background music while working in the shop. Not sure if it's a "sit down and listen" kind of album.
This was a top 10 in high school. Still love it but doesn’t quite hit the same.
Absolute classic. Though not as awesome as Katy Lied.
Did not enjoy
Holy. My whole life I thought a chunk of these were Steely Dan tunes. Great album.
