Clearly brings me back to the 1980's. It's good, but I am not sure i actually want to go back.
Once again, the typical sound of pop 1980's electronic music.
I have not spent much time listening to Sinatra. I love these bossa nova compositions and have both performed and listened to many versions. This is good. Very good. I may go back and listen to early Sinatra to see what's there. thanks for this suggested album.
I have heard Groove is the Heart but had no idea who Deee-Lite really was. Great dance music. Love it!
Good old school organ jazz. Takes me back to teh 70's
I have followed Gary Burton since my college days in the 1970's and have seen him perform live several times in that era with various musicians including a young Pat Metheny and Eberhard Weber. I generally love what he does but am frustrated (perhaps bored) occasionally by obscure experiments of his. This is good but not great. Check out Burton's album "Passengers" if you want him at an exciting moment in music.
I have always liked these guys-I have a soft spot for this band and era.
What a game changer! The premier jazz-rock-funk album. This is where it all started.
Nice background music for baking. I enjoyed it for what it is. I don't dance much anymore but I appreciated the beat. No catchy hooks as you might expect, just a solid beat.
A bit tedious even for an elevator ride. I wanted to like it, but…
I have liked and listened to this since "Vikings" used their music. I love it although I have to listen to it alone since my wife thinks I am ramping up my torture room when this is on.
I followed Weather Report since the beginning. Earliest albums were hard to like, even though I wanted to. Middle albums were a great mix of (at the time) modern jazz and rock. Truly amazing. This latter period is when the band needed the money and went all commercial on us. This album is like backround rock karoke. Too pop for a jazz rock listener.
I like Miles but this seemed a bit dated. Good, but too structured to not sound dated.
I wanted to like this. Very good for this genre of music. It's a bit too much for me. It all sounds the same after half the album. This is from someone who has liked Brazilian music since the 1960's.
Very fine, indeed. Personally I don't get tired of this even though I have been listening to this genre of music since childhood in the 1960's. Smooth and easy listening but not simple by any means.
I fell in love- and then had a rocky relationship with Bjork for many years. It was difficult in later years. My wife forbade me from seeing(listening) to her. Guilty pleasure for many years. But now it’s over. She and I have moved on. She got old and crazy. Maybe she always was. But I can still remember the beginning…..
These are good songs; great songs by one of my favorite period bands. I loved S.D. since I saw them on a concert TV show in the early 70's. But this album never really caught on with me. No reason. Hearing it now is actually somewhat of a fresh pleasure.
Nice easy listening jazz. Seems dated but good for evening back ground music.
Completely new to me; band and the music. Since there are 53 tracks on the album (20th Anniversary) I have been listening to snippets of many of the tracks. I know this is not a good way to review, but I am just getting my first impression. Odd, repedative, could be good background music or music to drive to. I will clearly listen more. It's that intriguing.
Interesting but unexceptional IMO. I may listen to it again. It's now going to skew my Spotify recommendations.
It was great at one time. Sounds dated.
Lovely music. My high school age kids first got me into this music. Interesting stuff.
Blown away by Milton the first time I heard him on a Wayne Shorter in the 1970's. Followed up with the fantastic "Milton" album in 1975. Was enthralled by his music and voice for a while but slowly drifted away. Thanks for showcasing this also great earlier album.
This is completely new to me. Electronic music with an earthy beat and sound. I won't listen to it often, but its worth a run through. Possibly background music for some part of my life......
