Dookie by Green Day
Jan 03 2025

i own a t-shirt i love dearly with this album cover from when the album was first released. this is one of green day's best albums, and completely encompasses the self indulgent, immature, and yet somehow endearing teenage spirit of pop punk. billie joe armstrong is "one of those melodramatic fools" and i love him for it.

I have no doubt that much of the music we have today is thanks to the likes of James Brown. This album is unmistakably a show of great musical talent, especially considered in the context of its time. He is a pioneer of r&b and soul. And yet, despite his influence, I have to admit this album bored me at times.

Music From Big Pink by The Band
Jan 09 2025

overall i found this album boring. u can't break with bob dylan and assume you're still "the band" within ur own right. that being said, "the weight" is a banger and "this wheel's on fire" was covered by siouxsie and ended up being the theme for absolutely fabulous, so credit where credit's due

If You Can Believe Your Eyes & Ears by The Mamas & The Papas
Jan 13 2025

this album was pleasant and inoffensive but not really anything special for me. california dreamin is obviously well known but dare i say my least favourite song on the album?? maybe i've been overexposed to the 60s i need a break

The Rising by Bruce Springsteen
Jan 20 2025

my first interaction with this album was being asked to analyse Paradise at the age of about ten in school. looking back the themes of suicide, loss, and terrorism may have been a little intense for a class of 9-10 year olds. love bruce though xxx
