First song is amazing, great start to the album. Percussion has been very groovy at the beginning of the album as is the bass line on "o my god." Kinda hate "mother." Miss Gradenko is interesting... Very much enjoyed Synch2. Paints a great picture in song of a really depressing existence. Every breath is creepy but it is a good single. King of pain thumbs up. Wrapped around your finger is great, love the synth. Tea in the Sahara is a great soundscape for the desert. Love murder by numbers. They're as easy to learn as your ABC's! I think this one deserves a solid 4.
The whole album is an amazing jam sesh, Mr. Green Genes is a masterpiece. Gumbo variations makes me happy. WTF is It must be a camel...
Blister in the sun is quite the hit and it is a great song. I was impressed at the tense feelings in "add it up." The rest of the album is aight, but "Gone Daddy Gone" is one track that really pulls me back in because of the sick xylo solo and driving beat. "Ugly" is just fun and I want to play it to someone as an insult.
I might not love every song on this album, but I adore how forward the bass is mixed as well as the exciting energy of the rock ballad style here. I've discovered a handful of really good songs here I've never heard and ending on seven seas of rhye just makes it better. This is a solid four out of five.
Rockin memorable opening with whole Lotta love, bringing it back down a bit with what is and what should never be, squeezin the lemon, Heartbreakers which I can never hear without living loving maid afterwards, rambling on, bonham's masterpiece and slaying the white whale, and then we bring it on home. Five stars automatically, probably one of my favorite zeppelin albums of all time
I enjoyed this album very much and I heard a sound that I'm not quite familiar with. Love the rawness in vocals and guitar on quote a few of the tracks.
Personally, I didn't enjoy this album as much as previous entries. It definitely does not deserve a bad score, however. I can recognize impressive guitar work when it comes around. A new vocal style for sure, but not certain I'd go back and listen to the entire album again. Maybe a couple tracks.
Excellent album. The title track is amazing but I just love Ian Anderson's flute in Jethro Tull.
Automatic five star album. Every single song is worth listening to here. Relatable themes of life, love, loss, and more set to amazing music. Every song works at a surface level but there is something deeper in the lyrics. I don't know how Billy did it, but I'm glad he did.
I do love some jangly blues guitar and im surely a sucker for organ. Love the beginnings of protest music from Country Joe. Album is good except the end song leaves me tired.
The whole time I was listening to this album I kept switching between thinking, "Interesting, I kinda like it" and "What the fuck this is just noise." 3/5
There must be one selection of every genre in this album. It's much weirder than the famous singles would lead you to believe. I had fun with it overall. Good listening
Whoever invents sex packets first will be a quadrillionaire. Also, the Humpty Dance is legendary.
A short album, but a very enjoyable one. Throughout the record it sounds like Louis and the band are having fun recording these crazy songs and I had fun listening to them.
I can't believe this is a debut album. Every song has me rockin'!
Love this rendition of 'Take the A-Train.' Also the drum solo at the end of the album is absolutely killer. High energy, songs that sound like they were extremely fun to play!
Raw blues sound mixed with modern distortion and catchy rhythms. What's not to love?
This album is thankfully short, but unfortunately not short enough. I don't see how this is an album I HAD to listen to before I died because it made me feel psychotic while listening to it. Would not recommend.
Really good album and ends on a helluva note with 'Hallowed Be Thy Name.' I'm always surprised by the lung capacity on Bruce Dickinson.
Not a good album in my opinion. There's too much electronic chaos happening and not enough music. Maybe two tracks worth listening to with "You and Whose Army" and "Life in a Glasshouse." Other than that, not really worth the time of listening.
Pretty good background chillin music
This is a go to album for sitting out in the yard sipping a cold drink on a breezy spring day. Love it
Despite a three star rating, there are some incredible tracks in this album. You can tell these songs came from a very intelligent and talented person who has been influenced by just about every single genre in existence.
I want to like this album because of that great 80s sound, but none of the songs really wow'ed me beyond the first one. I just don't get it I guess.
The music behind the vocals is worthy of headbanging, but not a huge fan of the singer
Easier to listen to than Daydream Nation, but not a go-to album for me. Bubblegum is a certified personal hit now
Terrible, innit. Boring and repetitive riffs, nonsensical lyrics, just couldn't listen to it. I found myself skipping a majority of the songs.
Fun, upbeat songs that contains so many of the radio staples of classic rock. Groovy blues riffs that are reminiscent of 50s feel good jukebox hits. Can't resist it.
Beautiful example of soul, and an incredible voice from Solomon Burke. Every song is good here.
It's an aight album. Can't really remember anything in particular after listening, but it's pretty good background music while it's on. Gets a good ole 3 from me.
From the Wikipedia, "Although not originally well-received, the record is now widely praised by both critics and fans." Personally, there are about 3 decent songs in there.
This album starts off slow, but eventually culminates in the extremely impressive and thoughtful "Watergate Blues." Gil Scott-Heron is as talented a musician as he is in directly addressing issues of his time and ours. Incredible.
Really liked this album. There are quite a few very good tracks and it's honestly hard to believe this is a debut. Good stuff 4/5
I've heard all of these songs a bunch of times, but it doesn't stop them from rocking. So many hits on just this album, must be a 4/5
Very chill and laid back. Quite enjoyed this one. Reggae with a message mahn.
Love this album. Best of their albums by far and one of my new favorites.
