Crime Of The Century by Supertramp
May 12 2025

Good album, really liked the first 3 songs. Fun use of dynamics in Asylum, like someone in the booth is turning down the volume knob. Dreamer is kind of annoying to listen to. Rest of the album is ok, title track is a little boring but I like the reprise of the harmonica from the first track school.

Do you like Big Iron? Well here's 14 other songs that also sound like Big Iron. Great voice from Marty Robbins though.

Funeral by Arcade Fire
May 14 2025

Seems like any other indie alr rock group at the time. Definitely inspired by neutral milk hotel. I can see why people like this but I like In the Aeroplane over the Sea a bit more than this.

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
May 15 2025

Very enjoyable! Little Child Runnin Wild and Pusherman are definitely going on my 1001 albums playlist. The rest of the album is fine, couple of instrumental tracks since its a movie soundtrack and Superfly is fun but nothing crazy for me. Would listen to again.

The Suburbs by Arcade Fire
May 16 2025

I tried my best. Literally got Funeral two days before and now this, it still all feels the same to me. I think the only song that I really jammed with was Month of May and it's slightly different from their indie rock sound. I can tell their evolution from their first album and its much more clean as far as production, but none of these songs really did it for me.

Mothership Connection by Parliament

Now this is what I'm talking about! These are bleeps and bloops that my ears enjoy.

The Bends by Radiohead
May 22 2025

Not as high tier as OK Comp, Kid A, or In Rainbows but the album you can kind of see where they were moving to. I have always liked Radiohead so I'm pretty biased and enjoyed this album.

Pretzel Logic by Steely Dan
May 24 2025

I don't hate Steely Dan, there are some songs I really like. Rikki is one of their songs of all time, but I did get pretty bored during this album. After Rikki, which I know pretty well since I played it for marching back in the day, I just stopped paying attention by the halfway point. Very yacht music-esque.

Dirty by Sonic Youth

Treasure by Cocteau Twins

There are times where I would thank 1001 albums because I never would have found an album on my own. This is not one of them. Really annoying and boring. I kinda liked Pandora but not exciting to listen to.

Moss Side Story by Barry Adamson
Jun 04 2025

Probably a 3.5, neat concept album. Was pretty confused at first but once I read the wiki I started to understand what I was listening to.

Jun 05 2025

Man, I used to hear these guys on the radio so often back in 2013 that when I saw that the album came out in 2007 I was quite surprised. I have heard Time to Pretend, Electric Feel, and Kids so many times that I was like "Oh this song too". Lot of bangers for them but I also find this kind of corporate music basic as well, that's why it isn't 5 stars for me.

The Nightfly by Donald Fagen
Jun 09 2025

I've been around some Steely Dan more than I care to be. Didn't know Fagen had some solo work but it sounds exactly the same. You would think having your own chance to make something you would do something a bit different but most of the songs all sound relatively the same.
