This is a crazy debut album, I never realised it was before. Shiver may be one of my new favourite songs. Shiver, Spies, Sparks, Yellow is a crazy track run. It is a pretty mellow album without an uplift though. I wish they stayed with music in this direction rather than the poppy weird music they do now, but also understand bands have to “evolve” as the times do. But we should really bring back the eclectic-ness of the 2000s where popular rock didn’t have to sound like it was written by a five year old.
Old school big band rhythm and blues. What a time! Oozing with musical inspiration.
I LOVE THIS ALBUM!!!!!!!!! Always have, always will. The cover of no woman no cry, mask off, and of course ready or not. Just such an excellent hip hop album
1970 was a brilliant year to play an electric guitar.
Not my thing. Only stayed for with or without you and still haven’t found what i’m looking for, which I can confirm Glee did better. It’s just so boring, unenthusiastic and lacking any depth to me. Maybe I would understand if I were around when it was released, but I could very happily never listen to this album ever again. Some songs I did enjoy of course, it’s not a top ranked album for no reason. I just think it’s appreciated heavily mainly due to nostalgia for the sound.
I’m a big fan of this. Had never heard of it before, but damn. Listening to Mr Skin followed by Space Child through my headphones after smoking some green, I felt like I finally understood the depictions of weed in the 70s. What a moment this album gave me. Thank you!
I f**ing love this album. It’s a brilliant, slightly experimental for its time metal album with some of Slipknot’s best tracks. All of these poor reviews are people who hate nu metal as a whole, which baffles my mind, as it’s so fucking fun. And do Slipknot really count as nu-metal anyway? Debatable for future albums. Drumming from Joey is always incredible, some nasty guitar work too which brings it up. I kind of fuck with the tinny production to be honest, sign of its time especially for a debut album. Eyeless and Diluted makes me feel 12 when i would want to punch my parents.
Not my thing, but I can appreciate it.
Quite a fun album, I’ve never paid much attention to aerosmith before. I appreciate the short length of old classic rock albums also, and some standout tracks on here like the title track, sweet emotions and round and round!
I accidentally looped it a few times without realising it was replaying. It’s nice, some funnies, but ultimately quite plain for me.
Kind of mid, kind of good. He has a really nice voice, and the album started off strong and good vibe for a train home from the airport at 10pm alone but then faded into background noise and all songs began to blend together.
Sorry I should’ve given it a go but I was high and scared
What a banger
I’m a Bauhaus fan!

David Byrne, silly man. Love him.
I LOVE THIS GUY!!! I raided my parents record collection two years ago and found this. No clue who he was, just thought I love the green tint and the way the inner sleeve looked. I then realised I had found a gem which no one in my circle had discovered. I was then led down a rabbit hole regarding his change in career, change in name, how poorly he was treated by the music industry. This guy was a true star, who ultimately was trashed when his second album didn’t have the same commercial success. Shame, because you can’t help but wonder what he could’ve become. A beautiful album though, one which brought me and my mum closer!
