Popular Reviews

Arular by M.I.A.

A lot of fun. Interesting beats and I like the attitude of the lyrics. I never would have listened to this record, even if given the task of checking out MIA. I really enjoyed this and see how she made it onto the scene with this one.

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac

Guitar playing is amazing.

xx by The xx
Sep 06 2025

I knew the song Islands from a video game I played in like 2012. The vibe is pretty much the same throughout. Calm, electronic and a bit Emo.

At Budokan by Cheap Trick
Sep 07 2025

Nice, iconic album/performance. I never realized I’ve heard the live version of “I want you” so many times that I knew the introduction of the song.

Sep 08 2025

The best U2 record. I still am not a huge fan. But, this is easily the most powerful Record these guys ever did.

Nilsson Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson
Sep 09 2025

I didn’t know who Hary Nilsson was, but then heard this record and knew two of the songs off of it. I was flashed back to the Rules of Attraction instantly.

Armed Forces by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Sep 10 2025

Elvis Costello still sucks

Joan Armatrading by Joan Armatrading
Sep 11 2025

Funky musicians. I really liked the music. The pop style isn’t really my thing, but, glad I gave it a shot.

Ramones by Ramones
Sep 12 2025

Punk rock AF

The Next Day by David Bowie
Sep 13 2025

Good album. Not a Bowie I would have listened to otherwise. It would be interesting to know how he felt about some of the issues he points out on this record after another 14 years. It is much worse now.

C'est Chic by CHIC
Sep 16 2025

Funky!!!! Great guitar work. So much fun

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Sep 18 2025

1969 was early for this kind of psych rock. I didn’t realize the kinds of synth sounds they were already making by this point. Amazing record

Arular by M.I.A.
Sep 19 2025

A lot of fun. Interesting beats and I like the attitude of the lyrics. I never would have listened to this record, even if given the task of checking out MIA. I really enjoyed this and see how she made it onto the scene with this one.

Wild Gift by X
Sep 21 2025

Great guitar playing. Now I know where Ron Gallo got his influence

Wild Is The Wind by Nina Simone
Sep 23 2025

Powerful songwriting. Amazing voice.

Countdown To Ecstasy by Steely Dan
Sep 25 2025

A great SD album. I especially like Show Biz Kids and the slide guitar tones they got on this one.

The Scream by Siouxsie And The Banshees
Oct 01 2025

I see where the Yeah Yeah yeahs drew their influence.

Little Earthquakes by Tori Amos
Oct 06 2025

I still don’t understand why this type of literal, paragraph-format word soup is considered good song writing. Obviously she’s an icon, but I just don’t get it personally. I gave it a good try though.

Revolver by Beatles
Oct 07 2025

Great Beatles record. Love the use of strings and sitar

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Oct 08 2025

No notes. Zeppelin was amongst the gods.

Murmur by R.E.M.
Oct 11 2025

Mid REM album

The Clash by The Clash
Oct 13 2025

The clash is lame

Arrival by ABBA
Oct 22 2025

This is fucking terrible. I can’t believe this is a classic record at-all.

Ellington at Newport by Duke Ellington
Oct 23 2025

Same year as Ray Charles played this festival. One of the first years where real music managed to find some oxygen in this racists ass country
