Wow! This album was pleasantly surprising, also nice to have a more recent album for a change. Each song had a great melody, though the songs did run together.
This is a really good alt rock/pop album. Her voice and the piano were beautiful and impressive. China and Winter were definitely two of my favorites.
This was overall a good album. I liked the folk and jazz elements, as well as the psychedelic feel. The only thing was the lack of hooks on some of the songs.
This genre just wasn’t really for me. It was a nice album though.
Easily one of the greatest albums of the 1970s. All the songs flow together, and there is not a bad song on the whole album. I have known about this album but never really listened to any other songs besides Band on the Run, which I loved. None of the other songs disappointed! Each one was also different from the others, which was a plus.
This was an amazing album. I wasn’t too familiar with it but I was familiar with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I did not expect to like this album so much, but I was surprised! All of the songs were great, and I loved how the first half of the album had more upbeat songs, and the second half had slower songs.
Absolute gem! I am a big fan of Britpop music, so I am surprised I hadn’t heard this before. I loved how the songs all were different from each other, and how they all had hooks with their guitar riffs. There are also no bad songs on the album.
This album is unlike anything I’ve ever heard before. I especially liked how the music was beautiful and dreamy. I didn’t like how the songs droned on as much, but ultimately it was a great album.
This album just wasn’t for me. I thought all the songs were okay, but they sounded the same. There were a couple of standout songs, but really nothing else.
This album was kind of forgettable, but it also wasn’t that bad. The album also moved fast since it was barely a half an hour.
I did not expect to like this album as much as I did. It had multiple suites, all of which were very creative and unique, but were also great. The spoken words were a nice inclusion, but I would have preferred less of them. However, it makes this album one of a kind, and there really is nothing exactly like it.
The songs did drone on after a while, and I would have liked to have seen more songs (shorter ones too), but it wasn’t a bad album overall.
This album was definitely repetitive and long. However, it wasn’t that bad either.
This was a very experimental album. I liked the vibe overall and the uniqueness. I can understand why other people don’t like it, but I liked it.
I want to know why this album isn’t that popular like Back to Black. I had never heard any of the songs until today, but I was pleasantly surprised. I get how it can be uneven, but that wasn’t a problem for me. It only seems sadder thinking about what Amy Winehouse could have been.
I liked the vibes given from the album and the first few songs, even the instrumentals. I just felt like there was something missing from the album.
I liked how this album was catchy and unique. However, there wasn’t as much variety as I would have liked to have seen, but it was a good album overall.
This was a nice album to listen to. The vibe and vocals were spot on.
Hip hop really isn’t my thing. That being said, I did like the rap on this album and I could see the talent. It’s better than I expected, so I guess I’ll give it a 3.
I am struggling to find anything about this album that puts me off. It’s just a great album! Definitely a predecessor to punk rock, raw and dirty. And I’m here for it.
Here’s one thing I know about Tom Waits. You either like his experimental music and voice or you don’t. I did, for that matter.
I don’t even know what to say. Blue is a timeless classic that never fails or gets old. The lyrics are pure poetry, and the music is just so beautiful and amazing. And Joni, she really can sing. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of this one.
Amazing album, loved the vibe and styles. Best thing was the variety. Variety just isn’t something all albums have, but each song was vastly different on this album. Definitely a 5 for me.
The concept of the album is definitely clear. It worked well in my opinion. I liked how detailed some of the songs got about Marvin Gaye’s divorce from Anna Gordy Gaye. I tend to enjoy double albums because they feel more like a journey, in a way. I did feel like the album dragged on a little bit at the ending, though.
I’m not sure how I feel about this album. It was good, I guess, but also kind of forgettable. I did like the variety on the album, but I wasn’t exactly blown away or super impressed by anything either.
This was truly an amazing album. There was a variety of styles, including punk rock, new wave, and power pop. There was also not a single bad song on the album itself. I’m surprised Elvis Costello has so many albums on this list, but I don’t mind that after this one!
I personally don’t get the hate of this album. Sure, the voice can get a little monotonous at times, but the music is beautiful and the vibes are pleasant. I enjoyed this myself.
Finally, a hard rock album. And this album really does rock. It’s only thirty five minutes, but no more time is needed. When it comes to album openers, Back to the Saddle is as good as it gets. Even though that’s the biggest song on the album, the rest does not disappoint! Songs like Home Tonight are power ballads, whereas other songs like Last Child are more hard rock. Overall, the album is a great representation of the 1970’s as well as hard rock itself.
I was never into pop music as much, but this is a very well done album. It does seem slightly dated, but in this case it’s not a bad thing. The first few songs were definitely the highlights for me, but the rest of the album did not disappoint.
This was a solid album. There weren’t specifically any “wow” factors, but it was overall good. I liked the folk and country vibes given off, and I don’t even particularly like those genres. So yes, it was a good album.
This wasn’t for me. But it was a nice album, and a pleasant voice.
This album was fine. It reminds me of early Pink Floyd (which I actually really like) but this album just doesn’t have as much variety as those. It wasn’t exactly bad either, however. So I guess that makes it a 3.
I liked this album. I didn’t like every single thing about it, but it is definitely more mature than the early sixties songs of theirs. I was never a big fan of the Beach Boys, but I have to admit this is definitely worth listening to. Solid 4 for me.
This was a great album. I didn’t personally mind the length, because it feels like more of a journey in a way. Her voice was just beautiful, and there were multiple different songs on the album. It’s probably around a 4.5 for me, but I’ll round that up because I don’t give pop music enough credit.
Amazing. The best of the Berlin trilogy, maybe a little short but every moment was enjoyable. My favorite track was definitely Heroes, but all the songs were good.
It was fine, I guess. I didn’t really like all the experimental sounds to the album, but I liked some of the music.
This was better than Seventeen Seconds, but still wasn’t as good as some of the Cure’s hit songs. I enjoyed the vibe of the album, it definitely was depressing. 4 for me, but I would give it a 4.5 if I could.
