Van Halen by Van Halen
Dec 30 2025

Awesome. Hadn't listened in ages, and it hasn't lost a thing.

Jan 02 2026

I dont know how to rate a classic. Ive never listened to a lot of rap, because I felt like I couldnt relate to it, so I cant really compare this to anything else. But as a person who grew up through the ascendance of hip-hop, I can recognize skills when I hear it. It's not something that I would listen to a lot, but I do appreciate the skill and songs.

My Generation by The Who
Jan 05 2026

Awesome- cant believe I never listened to this before. More raw, more punk, than later The Who.

Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth
Jan 06 2026

Classic. I appreciate its influence, which I hear on many of the bands I love. That said, its not something I would listen to regularly.

You Are The Quarry by Morrissey
Jan 07 2026

I've never been a Morrissey fan, but gave this a fair shake. The songs are beautiful. His voice is gorgeous. The production is lush. Still, just not my jam.

At Newport 1960 by Muddy Waters
Jan 09 2026

I'm not one of those people that really gets into the blues. That said, this recording is electric, and its influence on rock music is undeniable.

25 by Adele
Jan 12 2026

Adele has a beautiful voice, and she's a lovely person. Her songs are very emotionally touching and well written. It just is not my jam. I listenednto the entire album to give it a fair shake, and just can't see myself listening again on purpose.

Jan 15 2026

My grandparents owned a little dive bar, and I remember these songs from the jukebox. It's a whole lot of memories. And Buck Owens - what a guitarist.

Abbey Road by Beatles
Jan 16 2026

Perfect. No kotes

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jan 17 2026

Beautiful.

Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes
Jan 20 2026

A classic, Ive loved it for years

Metallica by Metallica
Jan 21 2026

I never listened to much post-80s metal/rock until this album came out. Changed me. I'm not a Metallica fan, but I love this album.

Stardust by Willie Nelson
Jan 27 2026

These standards are classic, well-crafted songs. Willie's unadorned voice brings a fresh sincerity to music that can often be a little overwrought.

Jack Takes the Floor by Ramblin' Jack Elliott
Feb 20 2026

Really love the bluesier songs, the folkier songs aren’t as appealing to me.

Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen
Feb 21 2026
NEU! 75 by Neu!
Feb 23 2026

Like this a lot more than expected. Thought it would be more industrial, but its (for the most part) melodic and trance-y. Will listen again.

Drunk by Thundercat
Feb 25 2026

Somehow, Id never heard of this Its going into heavy rotation.

Shake Your Money Maker by The Black Crowes
Feb 26 2026

Timeless. Sounds like it was always supposed to exist. Chris Robinson's voice is raw and soulful without a hint of affectation, and the band plays like they've been doing it for decades. Seeing Things alone justifies every bit of praise this album gets. Essential.

Kenza by Khaled
Feb 27 2026
Blackstar by David Bowie
Feb 28 2026

Bowie's voice floats above the music like he's observing it rather than living in it. Technically brilliant and clearly with something to say, but the emotional detachment keeps it at arm's length for me. Mad respect but I just don't connect the way I need to.

G. Love And Special Sauce by G. Love & Special Sauce
Mar 01 2026

Such light hearted musicality. I love when a talented group of musicians makes fun music like this. G. is a got dang treasure.

Harvest by Neil Young
Mar 05 2026

Timeless and achingly human. Old Man and Heart of Gold are the obvious entry points but the whole album rewards the time spent listening. Neil's voice has never sounded more unguarded, and the sparse production lets every word land exactly where it should. A Man Needs a Maid always stops me in my tracks - the way the London Symphony Orchestra arrangement sweeps in under one of his most vulnerable lyrics, and it's just devastating every time Ive heard it in the last 40-some years.

Guero by Beck
Mar 06 2026
Savane by Ali Farka Touré
Mar 13 2026

Stunning. The blues connection is undeniable — not influence, but origin. Touré's guitar touch is so light and precise it almost shouldn't hit as hard as it does. Familiar and completely foreign at the same time. Essential listening for anyone who loves the blues - its like listening to music genesis.

Soul Mining by The The
Mar 16 2026

Soul Mining has moments of real brilliance — Uncertain Smile alone justifies the listen. Johnson's ambition is clear but the album is uneven, veering between genuinely affecting and slightly overwrought. Some excellent lyrics that really hit, but most are more interesting than immediately lovable. Worth returning to, not essential.

Entertainment by Gang Of Four
Mar 22 2026

I came into this expecting more pure punk aggression, found something considerably more sophisticated. The rhythm section carries a funk groove that the guitar deliberately works against, and somehow it locks. The lyrics are sharp political writing delivered with real urgency and clever delivery. Surprised me.

Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
Mar 29 2026
Surfer Rosa by Pixies
Mar 30 2026

I know this is a classic, but it just doesnt hit me the way I need it to. Frank Black misses me with something. The songs Kim sings on hit, though.

Yeezus by Kanye West
Apr 02 2026

Sorry, I cant listen to Nazis.
