1001 Albums Summary

Lauryn Hill is a beast. Some really great vibes songs in the first half but I lost interest in the back half. Probably a 3.5 for me, I don’t see myself returning to the full album. But I may throw on some of the songs occasionally.

I love the raspiness and wavering of her voice mixed with the lightness of the orchestra. And when the angelic background voices chime in, there’s another level. I listened to this sitting on my porch watching the snow fall and I can’t think of a better way to do it. You don’t know what love is is a standout for me.

Im not a huge fan of Afrobeat, but reading about this artist and the impact this album had made listening to it very special

I’ve tried but I’m just not a Springsteen fan. Really liked the Glory Days song though

I'm really not feeling this one. I've never been a fan of Nick Cave's voice and his songwriting isn't enough to keep me interested and engaged with these songs. I wonder why this album was chosen. It doesn't seem like Nick Cave's best or his most important work.

Im happy i got to listen to an album i probably wouldn’t have heard without this project. There were some highlights and cool moments of genre blending. But ultimately it feels like a forgettable album for me.

It’s a classic. So good.

Seems like this album is much more impactful in the context of its time. The blending of psychedelic sounds and classic rock and roll is groundbreaking, but seems kind of played out now. Still some fun songs.

These are the albums where The Bee Gees prove they have songwriting chops. The melodies are great, the storytelling is there. But I get why it’s not as popular. Some of the songs are just strange and boring, like Edison. They can fall flat. But some are truly beautiful. The opening, Odessa, is powerful and a great start. Melody Fair is a killer song.

I understand it, but it’s not my cup of tea. Way too slow and rambling for me

It's short, it's aggressive, it's irreverent. It's everything you want from an early 80s hardcore album.

It's fine and interesting, but I don't think this is one of the albums I NEEDED to hear before I die, you know?

Not typically my style of album, but it’s a masterpiece nonetheless

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Just a nice, fun album.

Never cared for this one. I'd just listen to NWA instead
