i bought this one when it came out, listened to a fair but and it's gathering dust in the CD shelves now music press went pretty overboard too, with some hyping them as the "next Nirvana"; inclusion in the book was very much a 'prisoner of the moment' exuberance imo still some good tracks therein and i'm glad this project forced me to revisit 3.5/5

i appreciate that it influenced some of the '60s pop acts' forays into psychedelia but the 70 minute extended cut of this borders on tedium at a certain point EDIT: nevermind! that was the spotify version, the youtube album is great– avoid the spotify cut for best results 4.5/5

classic Stones therein, 3 songs we've heard a thousand times or so and some copycat blues color by numbers to fill out the rest of it 3.5/5

enjoyed the few moments with CSNY harmonies some and its optimistic sentimentality feels quite quaint, but otherwise a fairly uncompelling and forgettable iteration of pop rock to my ears 2.5/5

not quite the Beatles but then again, what is? "Live Forever" one of the best tracks of its decade and otherwise not much filler to be found here. a standout debut near worthy of its admittedly outsized hype. 4.5/5

it's not that i terribly mind the fuzzy stoner rock crunchy guitar droning but it just really meanders with nowhere to go; the killer album art suggests better material, but perhaps an eventual re-listen whilst high may make it all click 3/5

while Aja is perhaps a more cohesive document and the high point conceptually in their catalog, Can't Buy.. serves as the best collection of individual tracks from Steely Dan– a landmark achievement in jazz rock bonus note: "Do it Again" was a whole lot of fun to play on Guitar Hero: World Tour especially with the special guitar with the separate touch section on the neck 5/5

perfectly cromulent collection of 60s british pop remarkable mostly for its closing with one of the best tracks in rock history 3.5/5

great EDM album with enough variety to sidestep the usual monotony pitfalls of electronic music 4/5

i've put this record on a few times in the past but it never really stuck with me, and this latest listen proved that this just isn't really my cup of tea; good filler music for the background the cover art deserves better music methinks 3/5
