This would typically be something I would love. The vocals is what I have a problem with. I loved the ambient and electronic sound, the instrumentation was really good and it's produced very well. I was never a Radiohead fan, people were always super pretentious about this band for some reason and that was also a turn off. However, I tried listening to this with no judgment and I did like most of it.
I never really liked this band, and truthfully I'm still not that into it whatsoever lol
I really enjoyed this. It was super fun and honestly perfect for a rainy afternoon.
I don't know why so many people say this is their best work or their greatest album. I found it to be lackluster.. it did have a good emo rock type of vibe I for sure liked Siamese Dream better. I'm still not sure if I'm totally into this band or not lol. 2.5/5 for me
Solid 2.5/5 stars from me. I feel like i shouldn't be sober to enjoy this haha. Could for sure vibe to this at a club with friends. Paper Planes should be its own single, there's some odd arrangements on this album. I do really like Birdflu and Come Around too.
genuinely this was awful to listen to. i can see the comedy aspect but other than "I Can See For Miles" i did not enjoy this.
yeah i don't think I'm a bob dylan fan and that's totally okay. i just can't seem to get into it that much. it really felt like the songs had too many verses i'm not gonna lie. there's some good instrumentation on there but that damn harmonica pained me. solid 2.
I've never heard of this artist but i actually really enjoyed the album. it's a slower paced kinda chill vibe. for sure had like the 90s indie folk girl vibes that i do like from the time. some songs were really good while some where just kinda meh. overall i did enjoy this though!
Now it took me a bit to get into this, the first track is a doozy on the start up. I did like it though! Kinda just zoned out and went with the vibes. for sure not an album for everybody though if you don't like prog rock/jazz noise type of stuff.
I am not typically a Beatles fan, but this is my favorite album of theirs. It's just so goofy and fun. Handful of great songs on here that have always been a favorite. I like when they got weird with it. I like the more orchestral, random instrumental vibes.
the beats were really good on here, but it was kind of all over the place lyrically and just with the overall sound. I like experimental most of the time but I feel like it just didn't work here on this album for the most part. 2.5/5 for me overall but some good tracks if they were just by themselves.
i feel like there's some fun tracks on here, a little repetitive but I enjoyed it. i recognize some of the beats because they were sampled by other artists haha. for sure has to be included in the jet set radio soundtrack right?? i'd give this a 3.5/5
I enjoyed the instrumentals a lot! I liked the folk / traditional drumming blend going on with the vocals. The layering is nice. It's pretty unique for the time it came out too, I don't think I've heard anything like it from the 80s. I do think that some of it was a tad repetitive and you can get lost in the music. I think that's the point though, it is a very beautiful sound. Not sure if I'd want to listen to this all of the time though. (only because it's over an hour lol) would be nice as a background album for a summer afternoon, falling into the night.
A pretty chill, laid back album. I liked it!
had some elements I really liked, but wasn't like a complete stand out album to me.
i wish i liked this more, there's a few good songs on this album but overall i wasn't impressed tbh. probably on the higher end of the britpop album category so far though haha.
I really liked this album, I regret not going to the show he played recently in my hometown. it scratches an itch in such a good way in my head haha.
Some fun samples and great beats. I wasn’t totally into all of the lyrical content but I’ve never listened to this album in full before. Some great songs on here that stand out on their own though. I wouldn’t regularly listen to this, but the songs I did like I added them to my daily rotation. You can for sure see the influence on hip-hop now from this album which is really cool to me. I do miss when groups had skits within their albums, it’s entertaining but I know it’s not for everybody lol. 4.5 stars from me
not my style at all, actually this was pretty bad. One time i worked at a gas station and a customer told me that i looked like a gay meatloaf. i never did listen to the music afterwards but i knew who he was lol.
i actually really liked this album! i recognized him from his music with gal costa. fun stuff on here.
another boring 60s rock album for me.
Simply put it's a beautiful deep album. This album has played at my grandpa and a close friend's funeral. How ironic that those were the only times I was familiar with this album. The guitar is clean and his vocals are gentle but not too boring. I wouldn't listen to this regularly but it's nice.
It's too bad this album sounds so boring and bland. far too long for my liking as well. I only really liked maybe 2 songs at most - The Ledge was a good one. too rough sounding for me to really enjoy this whole album lol.
I liked side A is what I'm assuming the first 5 songs are. at first i had no idea it was split into tracks and just thought it was one long song (which i assume is correct? didn't know it was a live recording either) it was fine - not the greatest jam album i've ever heard but the last few songs weren't the best either.
I've never really been that big of a fan of David Bowie - Golden Years was the only song I liked off this album and listening to it again after a while it's just kind of a weird song structurally.
Overall nothing spectacular. My dad showed me this band many many years ago. I've mentioned it before but he LOVES brit rock/pop bands so that's what I grew up with. The production was nice and his vocals are for sure recognizable. but sadly i found this album just kinda boring.
I think it was pretty average pop rock album. I liked a few songs, "Tall Trees", "Weather With You" and "Whispers And Moans". It had slight Prefab Sprout vibes to me (one of my favorite bands) but it also seemed a little generic for the time.
Classic hip hop style but the lyrics aren't great lol
Some of the songs are entertaining and Ella Fitzgerald has a beautiful voice don't get me wrong. This is mostly just boring slop from an era that isn't timeless for my generation.
Great production but Ye is such a horrible person. You really can't separate the art from the artist. I do miss this era of 2010s hip hop style though. It was unique for the time. Not sure why music people always praised him ngl.
I've never been a fan of Leonard Cohen unfortunately. This was hard to listen to, only because I thought it was more spoken word than anything.
I've liked a few songs off this album for a while, but it's not always something I want to listen to.
this album is alright, it's a bit repetitive like many have said. i don't think this is daft punk's greatest work but i do enjoy a few songs from here that i listen to on a standalone occasion - never the full album. AROUND THE WORLD AROUND THE WORLD
mostly cover songs but Otis is a great vocalist! full of energy and soul for sure. quite long since it's a compilation album tho lol.
Absolutely trashy album imo. Only giving this a rating at all at is because when I was a kid the first song I learned on guitar was Californication, I taught myself how to read music after that but never really liked RHCP.
