1001 Albums Summary

Love the first track but as an album I found the listening experience cloying and one-note and therefore struggled through - surprised myself with this rating not being higher!

Adore Joan Armatrading and thought this would be a 5, maybe just my mood on the day made it a 4??

First time listening to Led Zepp ever. Like Battle of Evermore and Stairway to Heaven. Levee ok. Don't like Tolkein or screeching though. Headache land

Harmonica torture hell. Except for Masters of War, which I liked. Not enough for a star though

I wasn't alive when this was out but being a fan of raves, Dance Dance Revolution, funfairs & Queen Latifah, this album lights up pleasure centers in my brain

Don't think I'll ever be a Dylan fan but Subterranean Homesick Blues was fun and already better than anything on Freewheelin' Bob Dylan. I do like Mr. Tambourine Man despite harmonica. Didn't hate Gates of Eden but I think it could have done without harmonica. Liked It's Alright Ma (no/minimal harmonica?) By the end of this my fist was clenching every time the harmonica played, not good for my PTSD

So glad the album is over and I never have to listen to it again

Not enjoyed a Taylor album since 2017's 'reputation' cause I like her poppier, livelier songs... if I want folky vibes I'm not listening to Taylor sorry lol. I like 'gold rush' & 'no body, no crime'. Taylor sounds 10000% better when she sings in lower register, I usually like high-pitch female vocals but she just doesn't have the voice for it. Worked well as mindless background music ig??

So so good. Never heard the first 2 songs before but instant favs. And this album contains 2 of my all-time fav songs (Perfect Day and Satellite of Love) so it was starting off well. Surprised I've never listened through the album before. Make Up is creepy ("slick little girl" vom) but I can forgive it.

Prefer my metal slower, more melodic, and less... thrashy, maybe? That said I'm on the intro to Good Mourning right now and I'm jelling with this. Okay, now it's super fast again and I'm like, ow, headache. I think this is just very not for me.

I hate live albums but this is Good??? I don't even mind the screaming. It's moody and proggy and I'm digging it. Okay but this drum solo is too long.

Sorry but the first four Coldplay albums are a 5/5 for me. Fave tracks: Warning Sign (it was in a Buffy episode!) and God Put a Smile upon Your Face. Not actually bothered about Clocks. I feel the need to give excuses for my lack of dislike... Its good music to write to, y'know?

I get the importance of this but I think I just have to accept that jazz is not my thing. Annoyingly, cause my name is literally Jazz. I had to accept recently that magical realism is not my thing in literature. Glad that Magical Realism is not my middle name at least.

Love Madness but had to thumbs up the review that said, "Every song is like a theme tune for a slapstick villain"... That's exactly why I like it

Enjoying this a lot more than the live album. Highway Star is great. I only knew Smoke on the Water before this

My foot has betrayed me by tapping a lot so I think I'm gonna have to upgrade from what I was gonna rate

I just don't like jazz but this is okay

Only really liked Le Freak and I Want Your Love. Others I found irritating - Chic Cheer, Savoir Faire, At Last I Am Free and Sometimes You Win. I consider myself a fan of disco, but maybe I'm not since I'm giving this such a low rating?!

I kept thinking "I just have to be in the right mood for this one" but the right mood never came so I gotta go with my mood. Probably would be good music to have a mental breakdown to so will update my rating if that happens

I just think that since I'm vegan I should at least gain the privilege of not listening to this album ever again

Despite being an XTC fan, I hadn't heard this before so I figured it'd be a 4 star, but this is 5 star - all bangers!
