This wasn’t on Spotify so I listened to Tales of Kidd Funkadelic instead. It was so fucking fire. Funkadelic is so genuinely one of the best to ever do it. George Clinton deserves to have his dick sucked to infinity.

This is a fantastic album. It’s fun, high energy, and full of great riffs. I can’t give it 5 stars, though, because more than half the album is a 20 minute sick ass song and I can’t casually listen to that

I came into this album not expecting to like it. I don’t listen to country and I don’t like slow music or singer-songwriter stuff generally. I’m too ADHD for that so I just get bored and unengaged. This album does not suffer that fate. I am simply too engaged with both what Johnny says and how he says it. Shit is beautiful. It’s as plain as that. Fav Song: Steets of Laredo

This is what 80’s music should be! It’s creative and kinda weird and unique! The instrumentals are big and dramatic and the vocals have a ton of audible emotion. This album made me want to stand at the edge of a ship, partially unbuttoned shirt softly blowing in the wind, cigarette in hand, sweat and ocean mist on my forehead, the taste of whiskey and kisses on my lips, staring out at the infinite water to try to remind myself that the world is so much bigger than my problems or my whims. The world is greater than me and so is this album. Fav Song: Sad Old Red

It was fun but I don’t love this era of metal in general. It’s all a little campier than I’m looking for when I listen to metal. Fav song: The Rage

This album means a lot to me. I discovered it and Soundgarden late at night, years ago, as I laid in my ex boyfriends bed and stared and the ceiling contemplating my life. Chris cut through the fog of my own sadness and drew me into his own. He was already dead at this point, but, even still, his voice led me to my future. It is because of that night that I got out of that relationship and found myself. Favorite Song: Blackhole Sun

I went into this album wanting to hate it. When I heard the first track I said “ugh, country,” but this dude is a certified actual yearner. I couldn’t help but feel with him, yk? I dig it. Fav Song: Our Private Life

Fuck this album is so good. I was hooked from song one and then through every song after that. Curtis mayfields voice sounds like an angel and his lyrics seem like poetry. I’m so fucking with it. Favorite Song: Jesus (which is crazy cause I’m a Jew)

Another banger. I’ll admit I knew this album already, but it’s just so gorgeous and peaceful. I actually accidentally listened to it twice today because I was just chillin so hard

I didn’t know Aerosmith was this hard and fast, I think of them as more Ballady.

I forgot to rate this but I fucking hated this album. To start, it was simply boring to listen to. For me, that is unforgivable for a musical project. The sound that she was going for isn’t a good one and isn’t compelling. The lyrics were also atrocious. She’s known as a wordsmith by her fans, but if that’s the case then call me Shakespeare. The most streamed song on the album is “Willow,” but it is among the worst tracks on the record. Taylor swift makes love seem exhausting and being straight sound awful. If that’s what she’s going for then brava. I get that she’s mourning a relationship ending, but it doesn’t feel genuine, it feels pandering. I fear the target audience for this is either kinda illiterate or too smart for their own good and socially stunted. Or maybe I’m overthinking and they’re just lames. Either way, I am not with it. There is one saving grace on this project, though: “No Body, No crime.” This song sounds nothing like the rest of the project and has a fun little story to tell. It’s catchy, so if I’m gonna listen to Taylor faking emotions I’d rather do it through something I at least enjoy hearing. I don’t know what happened to her but I think success is terrible for art. Early Taylor was so fire but everything she’s put out has been so ass for so long now. I hope she figures it back out and also stops using her jet. Fav song: No Body No Crime

I accidentally listened to the deluxe version—the Jamaican versions—first and omg it’s better. I love bob Marley and every wailer and listening to this while studying racism and slavery in the Caribbean felt crazy
