The Score by Fugees
Mar 12 2026

Despite its ubiquity in my youth, I'm not sure I've ever properly listened to this end to end. How wonderfully referential and beautifully stripped back.

Heroes by David Bowie
Mar 13 2026

What a joy. I should have known it was more like Low than the title song suggests.

Is This It by The Strokes
Mar 14 2026

Listened to it. I've rarely been prouder of my teenage self, who rightly concluded that this is a essentially a boring pastiche of late 70s New York Punk. There's nothing wrong with the songs and Last Nite is a good enough pop song.

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Mar 15 2026

Em, I think that might have been great... It's harder work than I need first thing in the morning.

The Clash by The Clash
Mar 16 2026

It's obviously amazing, but saving my 5th star because this isn't London Calling

I’m a Lonesome Fugitive by Merle Haggard
Mar 18 2026

I have neither the words not the experience to really know if this is any good. It sounds like a lot of other country from the time to me. I love 'If you want to be my woman' though. Banger.

Boston by Boston
Mar 19 2026

I had always read about Queen liking Boston. Apart from that one song, I had never listened to Boston. Boston sounds like a lost early 70s Queen album.

3 Feet High and Rising by De La Soul
Mar 20 2026

I was ready to give this 5 stars but it's nothing like I remember. The highs are up there, but a lot felt like filler. This makes me so sad.

Rust Never Sleeps by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Mar 22 2026

I have never knowingly listened to a full Neil young album before. That was joyous.

Led Zeppelin III by Led Zeppelin
Mar 25 2026

Yes, yes, yes. why haven't I listened to this before?

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Mar 26 2026

A real joy. Maybe it's because I've been watching The Beatles Anthology, but it's so clear how much they were influencing each other.

The Nightfly by Donald Fagen
Mar 30 2026

I have listened to this multiple times now, but every time I find it hard to focus. I feel like this may be a feature, not a bug. It's kind of lovely.

Pelican West by Haircut 100
Apr 03 2026

This was a lot of fun

Queen II by Queen
Apr 05 2026

I always forget how weird queen albums are.

Ys by Joanna Newsom
Apr 06 2026

Almost unlistenable. Had to turn it off.

Lady Soul by Aretha Franklin
Apr 07 2026

Respect!

Planet Rock: The Album by Afrika Bambaataa
Apr 15 2026

Absolute banger. Love hearing genres being invented in real time!

Talking Book by Stevie Wonder
Apr 16 2026

It is still just an absolute pleasure.

American Idiot by Green Day
Apr 19 2026

It's weird being nostalgic for an album that I didn't really like at the time, but this feels like a soundtrack to such a big part of my life and I really didn't mind it at all.

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Apr 20 2026

I had real high hopes going in but this just wasn't quite there for me. Had it's moments but less than the sum of it's parts.

Apr 23 2026

I had to stop listening. I really want to like it, and can see why it would have been great at the time. But not for me.

Ocean Rain by Echo And The Bunnymen
Apr 24 2026

That was a lot of fun - far less synth based than I'd presumed. Making me nostalgic for the early 2000s when Donnie Darko was definitely my jam.

Revolver by Beatles
Apr 25 2026

I mean it's probably my 4th or 5th favourite Beatles Album and I find it a bit patchy compared to some others. It is still one of the best things ever recorded.

A Hard Day's Night by Beatles
Apr 28 2026

They might almost all just by "I love you" songs but my god they are good ones.

Close To You by Carpenters
Apr 30 2026

This is a really lovely album. They have suffered a lot over the years with a stigma of being MOR but this is beautiful.

Da Capo by Love
May 01 2026

I really found this quite unlikable. Can see what they were doing, but nope: not for me.

1999 by Prince
May 02 2026

Em, I feel awful, nothing wrong with it but hard to describe as better than fine

The Suburbs by Arcade Fire
May 06 2026

So I always thought that I don't like Arcade Fire. Turns out I was wrong, this album is entirely my jam.

Buffalo Springfield Again by Buffalo Springfield
May 13 2026

this album was not what I expected. Some absolutely joyous tunes

Nilsson Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson
May 14 2026

For quite a while I was going to say this was transcendent. I was going to forgive Without You as being a song that has suffered from over playing and parody. But what is Coconut all about?
