Got this album as a gift in 7th grade. Achtung Baby had been released and a friend of mine gifted this to me for Christmas after I mentioned I hadn't spent much time on this album. This album has some great moments performance-wise and production-wise. Historically significant album worth a listen all the way through once. After my first time listening to this, I found myself skipping a few tracks on a regular basis. When I gave it a full listen again later, I found a new appreciation for those previously skipped songs. Definitely in the Top 3 of the U2 catalog.

A challenge to get through. As I was settling into a song, I'd get taken right out with the most ignorant of lyrics. There's clearly some creativity here, but this didn't live up to the hype for me.

This is one I gotta listen to from start to finish. Instrumentally, a very interesting album. It wasn't until I hear tributes/covers that I understood the lyrics. One of my favorite albums from their catalog.

I respect the technical capabilities of the instrumentation, particularly the drums. While this isn't an album (or genre) that I'll revisit any time soon, I respect that it exists and there is a passionate fanbase.

Classic. Love for this album has sentimental ties to family and friends citing this band to listen to as I was studying drums. Not sure how someone with a more "modern" lens would think of this, but as someone born 12 years after this album came out, the world had already changed quite a bit from when the album came out, but it was firmly embedded in my adolescence and is a happy place.

What a miserable experience of an album. The constant lectures and immovable points of view suck every drop of art out of this album.
