Songs For Swingin' Lovers! by Frank Sinatra

Solid album with some classics on it. It's hard for me to listen to an entire album of this kind of music though. I don't really see myself ever just sitting down to do that.

After The Gold Rush by Neil Young
Apr 22 2026

This has always been one of my favorites. It was great listening to it again. Classic after classic

Deep Purple In Rock by Deep Purple
Apr 23 2026

Over the top rock awesomeness! No letting up on this one

Graceland by Paul Simon
Apr 24 2026

I know it's a classic, but it's kind of boring for me. It does have one of my top 10 all-time favorite songs though (the song Graceland). I appreciate the album for what it is, but I would never intentionally sit down and just listen to the entire album.

Gorillaz by Gorillaz
Apr 27 2026

I "liked" it, but it's very repetitive. I got the point after 10 minutes. Good background music with headphones I suppose. Clint Eastwood is a good song though. Clearly the standout.

We Are Family by Sister Sledge
Apr 28 2026

The music is very boring and the lyrics sound like they were written by a 12-year-old. There's nothing interesting about this.

Moon Safari by Air
Apr 29 2026

It was all right. I thought I would end up liking it a lot more after the first two songs, but in reality, all you really needed to do was listen to the first two songs. It's all pretty much the same, it had some interesting parts but overall just kind of boring

Apr 30 2026

Definitely not my usual style of music, but I surprisingly enjoyed this. I like a lot of others that I've reviewed lately, this was interesting. It had energy, something to say, passion.

Faust IV by Faust
May 01 2026

Similar to early '70s, Pink Floyd, but much less creative or enjoyable. Not much here really. Debated between one and two stars, probably would have given it one and a half if I had the chance.

May 04 2026

This one was hard to rate for me. First, I thought I was going to give it a three or a four but I had all weekend to think on it. I decided to rate it much lower. At first wall I was listening, I was struck by the message that people need to take responsibility for themselves and not blame the ills of society on musicians. While that might be the case in part, I also feel the majority of this album is shock for the sake of shock. I do realize that this is probably the point in driving home his message, but it was a bit much. There are some absolute classic songs on this album though. Definitely the hardest review that I've had so far.

So by Peter Gabriel
May 06 2026

I really enjoy this album. There are two or three songs that are clearly products of the '80s. Otherwise this would be a five star

Pieces Of The Sky by Emmylou Harris
May 07 2026

Thoroughly enjoyed this album. How to country music go so far of the rails?

A Date With The Everly Brothers by The Everly Brothers
May 08 2026

It was fun, but obviously very outdated and saccharine lyrics! In the context of when it was made, I get it from a music standpoint. Super simple, bunch of 12 bar blues. Not really my thing, but I can appreciate the history.

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
May 11 2026

Solid overall. The first half of the album was better than the second. If they kept the quality of the first half, I probably would have rated it's a 4

Definitely Maybe by Oasis
May 12 2026

It's a decent album, but very overrated. A couple of standout songs. The production value is absolutely trash though. Not sure I agree with that correction

Heartbreaker by Ryan Adams
May 13 2026

Such a great album.

Screamadelica by Primal Scream
May 14 2026

There were a couple good songs in here. A lot of it seemed like filler to me and not too interesting.

Haunted Dancehall by The Sabres Of Paradise
May 15 2026

This reminds me of music that you'd hear in the lobby of a hotel that's trying to be trendy. Because this album wasn't available on Spotify, I had to listen to it on YouTube. Funnily enough, when ads came on I could not distinguish between the music and the ads and the music of the album! Very boring

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths
May 18 2026

What a boring album. Not much good to say about it, except the bass playing and the guitar playing were good. The song themselves are awful

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
May 19 2026

I've never heard of this artist nor this album until it came up on my list. It is really good. A good blend of rock, jazz, and other genres. I'm only giving it four at this point because I haven't been able to really listen more in depth. I am willing to bet that after repeated listenings this will wind up being a five.

May 21 2026

I've never heard of this album nor this band. I really enjoyed it. I hear a lot of kinks influence which is probably why I latched onto it

Rust Never Sleeps by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
May 22 2026

I love Neil Young which is probably why this is going to get a four instead of a three. Critical listening tells me that the first half of this album is much stronger than the second half. If the second half stood up to the same standards as the first, this would be an easy five. Neil has better albums than this, but nostalgia and bias pushed me to a four

Odelay by Beck
May 25 2026

I haven't listened to this one in a long time until now. Some really solid songs, but a lot of boring as well. Probably rank it closer to a three and a half

It's Blitz! by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
May 26 2026

I like the structure of this album. It completely changed halfway through and do an acoustic softer mood. Loved every song

May 27 2026

The first song on this album is exceptional. I thought to myself that this was going to be a surprising four star. Unfortunately, there's a lot of material that I just didn't care for. The stones cover was pretty awful. Overall a fun lesson then. I'm glad I got to hear.

Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós
May 28 2026

I haven't listened to this one all the way through in a long time. I remember how much I enjoy it. It was kind of different listening to it in the car though, as opposed to via headphones while lying down like I normally used to. Beautiful music

Songs For Swingin' Lovers! by Frank Sinatra
Jun 01 2026

Solid album with some classics on it. It's hard for me to listen to an entire album of this kind of music though. I don't really see myself ever just sitting down to do that.

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Jun 02 2026

This is a fantastic album.

Jun 03 2026

If this double album was half as long, it would easily be a five. I honestly was struggling to give it a four, if half stars were allowed, this would be a solid, three and a half. It's unfortunate that there's so much filler on this.

S&M by Metallica
Jun 04 2026

I haven't listened to these songs since it first came out. I really enjoy the idea of this album, and I'm a fan of Metallica, but I would much rather listen to the original songs and these. I would imagine being there in person would have been a five out of five experience though

Africa Brasil by Jorge Ben Jor
Jun 05 2026

This was really good. Another one that I've never heard of before that I discovered through this. Probably listen to it more and it's ranking will probably go up as I digest it further

The Chronic by Dr. Dre
Jun 09 2026

Just not for me. This would have been a one star but was saved to be a two due to the singles. I guess I'm just not a fan of the genre

GI by Germs
Jun 10 2026

Surprisingly enjoyable. Pat Smear is in the band! Interesting way to end most of the songs, they just kind of abruptly stop!

Jun 11 2026

Wow, long and boring. I thought I would love it after the first song, but alas

John Prine by John Prine
Jun 12 2026

Enjoyed this one

The Score by Fugees
Jun 15 2026

Not something I'd normally listen to, but I did enjoy it well enough

Funeral by Arcade Fire
Jun 16 2026

I've loved this album from start to finish since first I heard it.

Lust For Life by Iggy Pop
Jun 17 2026

This is a fun album. I've heard a few of the songs before, but it was good to hear the rest. Clearly I had already heard the best songs however, I did enjoy the others, but they are not quite up to the same quality as the others. Others. Therefore this gets three stars instead of four

Black Monk Time by The Monks
Jun 18 2026

That was interesting. Perhaps I wasn't in the mood for it, otherwise I would have given it a three

Bongo Rock by Incredible Bongo Band
Jun 19 2026

Wow! That's a lot of bongos! Some really cool things going on here, but more of the same and then more of the same and then more of the same and then more of the same. Really interesting to realize how much of this I've heard before as it's been sampled a million times in a million other songs.

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Jun 23 2026

If it wasn't for the three consecutive songs of thriller, bad, and Billie Jean (which is incredibly amazing and warrants five stars by itself) this entire album would be a one or a two. I never realized how dull and saccharin the remainder of the album is

Time (The Revelator) by Gillian Welch
Jun 24 2026

Never heard of this artist before nor this album nor any of the songs. I really enjoyed it. It got a little slow towards the end, if I could give it half stars, it would probably be closer to 3.5.

Unhalfbricking by Fairport Convention
Jun 25 2026

It had its moments. I enjoyed some of the build up in the songs, the crescendo. I'd listen to it again, but it's not consistent enough to be a four

Jun 26 2026

Perhaps I want to be hip jazz guy? I love this. It's so interesting, the Dynamics are amazing, the instrumentation is so fun, new things come in and out repeating motifs. I loved it

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Jun 29 2026

I guess Tricky is ok

461 Ocean Boulevard by Eric Clapton
Jul 03 2026

It's a decent album with some great, classic songs, but overall it's underwhelming.

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Jul 06 2026

Fantastic from start to finish

The Atomic Mr Basie by Count Basie & His Orchestra
Jul 07 2026

This is all right, I think you have to be in a certain mood. I gave it a three because I'm not in that mood so it was mostly good background music. It could perhaps be a four depending upon how I'm feeling. Overall pretty good

If You're Feeling Sinister by Belle & Sebastian
Jul 08 2026

Maybe I wasn't in the mood, I was lifting ways of the time, but this album was relatively boring. I'm not an anti-indie guy, actually really enjoy the genre, but this was just blah

Red Headed Stranger by Willie Nelson
Jul 09 2026

I've actually never heard this album before. Absolutely loved it. Also, now realize that Lucas Nelson's Entirely Different Stars includes some of the music from the last song on the album titled Bandera.

Music for the Masses by Depeche Mode
Jul 10 2026

There were some high points, but it is way too long. Lots of filler on here that with better, more judicious editing could have raised it to a three or even a four

Garbage by Garbage
Jul 14 2026

Not a bad album. I was familiar with stupid girl and I'm only happy when it rains, but hadn't heard the others. This would probably be a four if I was more familiar with it. Perhaps all listen again and advice my score

Homework by Daft Punk
Jul 15 2026

It sounds like upscale hotel lobby music. Super boring and repetitive. I just don't get the appeal

Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves
Jul 17 2026

I was cautiously optimistic after the opening track Slow Burn which I liked. However, the album just never got interesting and remained mostly background music.

Jul 20 2026

An exceptional album. I remember getting this album as a Christmas gift from my parents when it came out. I've always loved it

Illmatic by Nas
Jul 21 2026

It's all right. Definitely not my thing though. I have trouble rating hip hop albums as I don't have as much experience with them. This one, however, I enjoyed it more than the others I've previously reviewed

Sulk by The Associates
Jul 22 2026

This album was very unique and musically interesting which proves those two qualities don't necessarily mean a great listening experience. This is my first time hearing this album or this band, I hope it is the last.

Jul 24 2026

This is worse than boring. At least with a boring album you can forget that it's on and zone out..

Joan Armatrading by Joan Armatrading
Jul 27 2026

It was okay. Some parts were really good. Some parts are just kind of boring.

Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips
Jul 28 2026

This album is so good. Musically it's phenomenal. Lyrically, at first you think it's silly, but in reality it's quite deep.

Punishing Kiss by Ute Lemper
Jul 30 2026

This was a soundtrack to a musical that doesn't exist. Very strange

Timeless by Goldie
Jul 31 2026

Hypnotically boring

Aug 05 2026

I've never heard of this band. It was fine. I'll probably listen to it again, but nothing really stood out to me the first time I listened to it

Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
Aug 13 2026

While I do like the Rolling Stones, this album is lacking. Three or four really good songs and then a bunch of okay ish less than okay ish music.

The Rolling Stones by The Rolling Stones
Aug 14 2026

Not quite sure why this album made the cut
