Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves

Oh this was lovely - nothing groundbreaking, but some cute songs, nice voice... will probably come back to it.

Nevermind by Nirvana

Yup, totally stands the test of time - banger then, banger now, love it 🤟

Miriam Makeba by Miriam Makeba

SWEET JOY!!! Gorgeous in every way, unreservedly 5 stars, genuinely found myself waving and whooping at one point, then put the whole thing on repeat. Glorious.

May 03 2026

Not my thing at all!!... managed a few tracks, but something about the rhythm just got on my nerves 🤣 maybe because I was driving and it wasn't doing it for me, dunno - had to turn it off anyway.

The Slider by T. Rex
May 04 2026

Hmm, not doing much for me, definitely of its time, and does sound a bit dated... and I do find his voice a bit irritating, but that's a very personal thing! Not compelled to give this a 2nd listen, but did manage to listen to the whole thing!

May 05 2026

Banger. Immediately listened a second time. Lots of variety, great riffs, musicianship, vocal harmonies etc. All bob on 👍

Dookie by Green Day
May 06 2026

Classic for a reason, love Green Day, but would choose another of their albums over this one, hence 4 stars.

Either Or by Elliott Smith
May 07 2026

This is really cute! Didn't grab me straight away, and yet ended up compelled to listen 3 or 4 times, it's a grower. Ballad of Big Nothing, "you can do what you want to, whenever you want to" - very much my vibe atm!

Parsley, Sage, Rosemary And Thyme by Simon & Garfunkel
May 08 2026

Yeh, pleasant enough, never gonna be one of my go to listens, but nice to hear something other than Bridge for a change 🤣

May 09 2026

Nope, can't do it. I tried, but I had to turn it off - I know he's a legend, but I just can't listen to his voice!!

Zombie by Fela Kuti
May 10 2026
Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves
May 11 2026

Oh this was lovely - nothing groundbreaking, but some cute songs, nice voice... will probably come back to it.

May 12 2026

Rolled my eyes when this came up, don't really feel any differently now I've listened to it either 🤣 it's not a bad album, it's just not my thing, probably won't listen to it ever again 🤷‍♀️

May 13 2026

Great for driving, will definitely make its way into my regular listening, but maybe not with the kids in the car (bit sweary!! 🤣)

Solid Air by John Martyn
May 14 2026

Obviously a stone cold classic! Must've listened to this about 5 billion times in my life, so chilled, lyrically amazing, full of memories and nostalgia for me, and one of the best openings to an album of all time.

Goodbye And Hello by Tim Buckley
May 15 2026

Well, obvs I LOVE Jeff, and have never listened to his Dad, so I'm intrigued. Yeh, this is wild - lyrically bonkers, harmonically twisted, psychedelic soundscapes, vocals unhinged! Love it. Probably won't become a regular listen though.

Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan
May 16 2026

Ah shit, not more Dylan 🙄 I can't honestly say I'll be arsed to listen to this - sorry not sorry 🤣 Nope, 1 track in, cba.

After The Gold Rush by Neil Young
May 17 2026

Ok, this'll be nostalgia. Oh, I REALLY enjoyed this - on its second repeat! Chanelling my mother, who was obsessed when we were growing up. Yes, his voice still gets on my tits, but the songwriting is immense, and I'd forgotten how great the vocal harmonies are. SO GOOD! Very happy to have rediscovered this, and will definitely become part of my regular rotation now.

Trio by Dolly Parton
May 18 2026

YES PLEASE!! These vocal close harmonies are actual joy itself - I'm in! 🙌 listened on repeat for a good few hours, recommended to my mates - LOVE.

Nevermind by Nirvana
May 19 2026

Yup, totally stands the test of time - banger then, banger now, love it 🤟

May 20 2026

Oh yeh, this is nice and chilled. Bit of a mixed bag though - I like the funkier tracks at the start, but soon descends into smoother cheesier stuff, and I'm not down!

Sincere by Mj Cole
May 21 2026

Initial response to opening... yes please! Quite like this - popped it on repeat, nice in the background, nice in the car... not setting the world alight, but a nice little vibe.

Vespertine by Björk
May 22 2026

Initial reaction: oh go on!!... love Bjork, don't know this album, should be fun! Hmm, disappointing! This wasn't doing it for me - maybe I wasn't able to give it enough attention or something... there are other albums of hers that I would choose over this one.

21 by Adele
May 23 2026

Initial reaction: eyeroll!! But, great songs, great voice - not my thing AT ALL, but I have to be fair!!

Dirty by Sonic Youth
May 24 2026

Remember listening to this, and not turning it off half way, but don't remember much else 🤷‍♀️

Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
May 28 2026

Pleasant enough, but won't be making it onto my regulars.

Soon as it started, I was like FUCK YEH!!! THIS IS GREAT!!! 🤟 Took about 5 tracks for me to go, "yeh, it really is this for the album" 🤣 And it is indeed great, but it does all sound the same - there's no variation in the soundscape AT ALL. The things is, if you were listening as a proper leftie at the time, it'd be totally different, but I'm listening as a musician 50 years later, it's not the political statement it would have been, and doesn't hold that nostalgia for me. I get it though, definitely a classic for a reason, just not something I'll be listening to.

Dummy by Portishead
May 30 2026

Love this, very happy to have this back in my ears!

Dear Science by TV On The Radio
May 31 2026

Just ok - probably won't listen again.

NEU! 75 by Neu!
Jun 01 2026

Nope, too annoying, didn't finish it - pass!

Madman Across The Water by Elton John
Jun 02 2026

Great album - gorgeous piano playing, brilliant string arrangements, classy.

All Directions by The Temptations
Jun 03 2026

Nope, this doesn't do much for me - bit smooth, never really gets going as such.

The Visitors by ABBA
Jun 04 2026

Didn't listen to all of it, but enjoyed what I did listen to far more than I anticipated!

Pictures At An Exhibition by Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Jun 05 2026

This is insanity, I love it! Really creative & progressive. Won't become a regular listen, but i'm glad I've heard it, and will probably recommend to other musicians as something interesting.

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Jun 06 2026

Well this was always gonna get 5 stars - love the Chillis, love this album, glad of the excuse to listen to it again... still as good as it always was.

Jun 08 2026

First track is really long and boring, so I didn't have high hopes - one track later on that I *quite* enjoyed, but on the whole just far too chilled out for me.

Mama's Gun by Erykah Badu
Jun 10 2026

Not AT ALL what I was expecting! Quite funky and fun!

Bug by Dinosaur Jr.
Jun 12 2026

Better for driving than trying to do work 🤣 quite liked it then, and it brought up some interesting bands afterwards... that I'm more likely to listen to again than this, but I did quite like it! Maybe it needs another chance.

Elephant by The White Stripes
Jun 13 2026

Well, I hear 7 nation army at virtually every school concert I go to these days, so it was nice to be reminded that it is actually a good song 🤣 the rest didn't do much for me though, won't be making it onto my regular playlist.

Damaged by Black Flag
Jun 19 2026

Teenaged me would have been all over this - bit much for me now 🤣

Africa Brasil by Jorge Ben Jor
Jun 20 2026

Listened, but wasn't really into it.

Miriam Makeba by Miriam Makeba
Jun 21 2026

SWEET JOY!!! Gorgeous in every way, unreservedly 5 stars, genuinely found myself waving and whooping at one point, then put the whole thing on repeat. Glorious.

Sign 'O' The Times by Prince
Jun 22 2026

initial reaction: FUCK YEH!!! Great album, will gladly listen repeatedly ☺ Well this was fun nostalgia, but it's only getting 4 stars because there are othere Prince albums which I would listen to in preference... hopefully also on this list somewhere!!

Jun 25 2026

This wasn't the easy listening vibes I was hoping for when I put it on!... really interesting, but not hitting the spot for me on that particular day - maybe I'll come back to it, maybe not 🤷‍♀️

Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
Jun 30 2026

Great album, took me down a Kate Bush rabbit hole for hours that I thoroughly enjoyed ☺

Bubble And Scrape by Sebadoh
Jul 11 2026

Yeh,... no, this is really boring, with some presumably deliberately really out of tune harmonica that I just don't get. Don't get it.

Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg
Jul 14 2026

Definitely digging his grooves, chilling me right out - but a lot of it is too mucky and sweary even for me!! 🤣

Central Reservation by Beth Orton
Jul 17 2026

I really tried, but I just don't like her voice.

In Utero by Nirvana
Jul 18 2026

Love it. Classic then, classic now, totally my vibe.

Blackstar by David Bowie
Jul 20 2026

Quite enjoyed this! It's not exactly classic Bowie, but hit just the right chilled out note for this afternoon's mood as it happens! Will I come back to it though??... possibly not.

In Rainbows by Radiohead
Jul 21 2026

How had I never heard this before?? What a flippin great album - immediately went on repeat for an entire day, and has remained in regular rotation.

Master Of Puppets by Metallica
Jul 25 2026

I enjoyed this enough to make me wonder why I've never listened to Metallica before, kind of my vibe, I didn't love this particular album, but enjoyed the little rabbit hole it took me down.

Will The Circle Be Unbroken by Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
Jul 26 2026

I can't manage all of this!! There are some things to like - the close vocal harmonies are great when they kick in, and some of the songs are quite cute in terms if lyrics, but the rest of the vocals are all irritating individually, and I just can't deal when the fiddle starts spaffing all over everything. My time is precious - I gave it a good go!!

Haunted Dancehall by The Sabres Of Paradise
Aug 05 2026

Not available to listen to on Spotify unfortunately.

Aug 06 2026

Was chuffed when this came up and enjoyed listening to it again for the nostalgia, but it wasn't as great as I remembered it unfortunately!

Rust Never Sleeps by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Aug 08 2026

Just a bloody good songwriter isn't he?? Really enjoyed this, but have to take a star off because there's not enough of the awesome vocal harmonies that you get on his solo stuff!

Songs Of Love And Hate by Leonard Cohen
Aug 09 2026

Great songwriting, great voice, but just not my taste, and well depressing!! 🤣

Little Earthquakes by Tori Amos
Aug 10 2026

Didn't need to listen to this to know it was getting 5 stars, have loved it forever, but grateful for an excuse to listen to it again, as if I needed one!!
