Ill Communication by Beastie Boys
Jul 11 2026

First album reviewing out of my usual genre, so I don't have much to base it on. But this album was a pretty nice listen. I feel like it was inspired a lot during its era with crunchy rock beats and strong instrumentals, but the rhythm was similar to hip-hop. I don't have much else to say about it other than it was a really good album and would rate it about a 3.5-4. My few criticisms were that it was harder to relate to this style of hip-hop, and there were a few cringey moments that I'm not used to.

Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips
Jul 12 2026

One of my first album reviews, so take it with a grain of salt. It may be that I was having a great day at the gym, but the album was amazing to listen to. The vocals and instrumentals were strong and unique, and I just had a great time listening to them. There were a few weird moments for my taste, but I just thought it was a great album overall.

Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix
Jul 13 2026

I thought it was a solid album for rock. The basslines and guitar riffs were nice. But it just didn't speak out to me. It's a great album for the genre but it just isn't my thing.

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Jul 14 2026

I am a sucker for RnB and this album was great. Had very catchy choruses and great instrumentals. Would rate higher but could move me a bit more. But overall, it was a great album and I will likely listen to other albums by the Isley Brothers. Also, I thought it was crazy that Kendrick sampled this.

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Jul 15 2026

Never knew I liked alt-rock so much till I listened to this album. All of the instrumentals were great, and the medolies were nice. I just had a great time with this album. But, it did not completely move me for a 5.

The White Album by Beatles
Jul 16 2026

I did not give this a fair listen because I was listening to it on a call with my buddies playing a game. Has a good number of hits and is a great rock album. I had a great time listening to it and will likely give it another listen someday.

Jul 17 2026

Am I biased towards country? Yes. Did this album change that? No. To me, it felt like a solid country album and would likely be around a 4 if you loved country music. But, I just don't think country is that good in terms of instrumentation, lyrics, or style.

Rio by Duran Duran
Jul 18 2026

I just thought it was an okay rock album. I would see it near a 4 during its time but I feel like it’s not as alternative or unique by modern standards. Its a decent album

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Jul 21 2026

I thought it was a great album with lots of great jazz/soul components. Don't have much to say other than that it was great!

Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
Jul 22 2026

I may not have given this a fair listen, but I thought it was an okay album. I should have maybe given this another listen, but I just didn't have the time. I thought the themes/lyrics were nice, but my biases towards folk music put it down. If you like folk music, this may be a 4-5.

Tanto Tempo by Bebel Gilberto
Jul 23 2026

I am a sucker for bossa nova, and the album delivered. It was calm, unique, and was beautiful all around. It was a tad bit repetitive at first, but it was still very nice

Maverick A Strike by Finley Quaye
Jul 24 2026

There were a few hits, but I just found the album to be a bit bland. This is because I have little background info about the artist, but some parts felt awkward and random. Maybe I should have given it a fair listen, but there are better albums out there.

Jul 26 2026

I thought it was a great rock album and would likely rate it at a 5 if it was more of my kind of music. Its a great album with many hits. Would likely listen to Oasis again.

Transformer by Lou Reed
Jul 27 2026

The album just feel a bit emotionless for me. It had great instrumentals but the lyrics and energy were lacking. I wanted to enjoy it but the vocals felt like it went against everything else. I feel like another artist can do it much better.

This Is Fats Domino by Fats Domino
Jul 28 2026

I loved the album, and I wish I could give it a 3.5 because that is how I feel about it. I may need to give it another listen because it may be deserving of a 4. Instrumentals were nice, and it was very listenable
