Roughly what I'd expect from a Nirvana album. A lot of the songs were harsh for my taste, but there were some great ones (like the classic Heart Shaped Box).
Excellent, some might say a bit repetitive, but I love the jams. I enjoy that a lot of it is instrumental.
Janis is always an incredible listen, though her voice is so intense I don't usually want any more at the end of the record. Has some classics like Bobby McGee.
Has some fantastic songs. I've never really listened to Harrison in a dedicated way, but I really enjoyed this. Not the most cohesive album--for example, it suddenly turns very blues-heavy toward the end. Would give 4.5/5 if possible, but it was excellent.
The first 2/3 or so of the album was fantastic, consisting of high-energy genre-bending bops. But the last third or so totally killed the energy for me. I would probably say 3.5/5 if I had the option, but we'll go with 4.
Some excellent songs certainly, but I prefer some other Stevie Wonder albums. No particular critiques, I just don't think it's my favorite style.

Fantastic album. Neil is one of my all-time favorite artists, and this album has many phenomenal tracks, exemplifying this era of his work influenced by rock, country, and folk.

A very nice classic Country album. I really enjoyed the version of Streets of Lorado, he has such a powerful bass voice.
I listened through most of it. Prince has never quite been my cup of tea, for reasons I struggle to explain. I don't think I like his instrumentals, which feel sort of stripped down. And I'm not so crazy about his voice. I wish I felt differently and should probably give a more thorough listen sometime.
Really a phenomenal album, with moving, funny, and profoundly creative songs.
I really enjoyed a lot of these songs, including ones I had never heard of (Like Synchronicity II). I will be listening again.
My head was continually banging. Love the sound and the message, as well as the guitar solos. My only critique is that every song sounds very similar--they could almost have produced it as a single-song album.

Fun and different, not my usual jam. Kind of hypnotic electronic music. In the right mood I'm into it.
I liked the album a lot, good jams from a group I'd never heard of. I might give it a 5 on as comprehensive beginning-to-end listen, but I had trouble finding time for it. I absolutley love the organ parts.

I wanted to like this more. The instrumentals are creative and compelling, but I can't get over the off-pitch voice. I realize this is surely intentional, and while it is unsettling (again, intentionally), but I just don't enjoy it very much.
Listening to this got me on a blues listening spree. Great guitar, excellent singing, and top-tier collabs (especially the Santana song). It shows the range of different songs you can create within the seemingly simple blues framework.

I went into this album not loving Bjork. I had never listened to one of her albums entirely, but from isolated songs, found her voice strange and inaccessible, the music a little too avante garde for listening. I felt this for the first couple of songs, and even considered turning it off. But I ultimately came out of this album a Bjork fan. Her songs are incredibly creative, and while some are less accessible, others are absolute bangers. I enjoyed the more electronic songs more, that had a heavier club feel. I'm really glad I listened to this album, even if it isn't something I'd put on every day.
I hadn't listened to this album in a while (before today) but it's something I would always be happy to put on. It really shows JT's range, from touching country-style songs like the title track (a favorite of mine) to the blues of Steamroller, and of course to his unique acoustic classics like Fire and Rain. Instant 5.
I love the Stones. I love this older blues-rock style. But I think I prefer some of the original Black american inventors of this genre more, and I prefer the Stones when they've developed their distinctive style more. Definitely not a bad listen, but far from the best Rolling Stones album.
Very solid, fun album. It felt like a cross between the Beach boys and the Beetles. I've never been so high on Pet Sounds, and I think this is a groovier, more exciting version of that. Still, probably not the rock album I would usually choose to put on, for no particular reason.
Solid album with long, interesting songs. I can't quite articulate why I didn't feel compelled to give it 5 starts, as it feels up my alley, but it just didn't completely grip me, and I don't feel like I'll relisten any time soon.
This is a big-band classic. "Flight of the foo birds" took me right back to high school jazz band, and that was probably my favorite on the album. I'm struggling to decide between giving a 3 or 4 because I have a hard time thinking of many occasions when I'd actually choose to listen to this album (maybe put it on in the background when hosting people for cocktails?). It's objectively a good album of the genre, just not so much my taste.

I had only ever heard "Village Green" from this album, a song I would classify as a "fun little ditty". I really enjoyed "Do You Remember Walter?". While I generally appreciated the group's sound on this album (a mixture between more baroque and harder-edged rock sounds), by the end of the album the guitars strumming begin to have the grating sound of just "noise". Still, listening back through, I really enjoy most of the songs individually, I just probably wouldn't listen to this start-to finish often.
Immaculately dark vibes just ooze from the whole album. The bass lines are forceful adventurous in the best way. The distortion is glorious. The use of slow tempos, some of the slowest I can recall in rock, just keeps me sucked in. The vocal sound has become iconic. And don't get me started on the fantastic guitar solos.
