The albums only redemption is as an experimental album of the time.
Amongst my favourite albums of all time. Bruce isn't for everyone, but I'll always love the way his storytelling depicts life.
Thunder Road is my favourite ever song, and the journey from there to Jungleland is so enjoyable. Only beaten by Born in the USA as a complete album in his discography imo. The Boss.

From listening to this, I can see how Joy Division inspired better bands who followed, including New Order as the successor, and that they laid a groundwork for better indie rock and punk.

Chances are high if you ask someone to name one of his songs, they'll name Jamming, Three Little Birds, One Love, or Wait in Vain, and they're all on one album.

Ashamed to admit I've never listened to a full Joni Mitchell album, despite knowing her legendary status. I am so glad this album has rectified that.
Smooth as silk vocal tone, and such gorgeous feel on every song. The musicality of this album is fabulous.
"Like a school kid waiting for the spring, I'm just sitting here waiting for you to come home and turn me on" is a horrible lyric, and an example of the poor writing that makes this album a trudge to get through.
It's inoffensive as a piece of music, but it's mostly just very boring. Norah has a great voice, and that combined with how good Don't Know Why and Seven Years are to start this album bump it up a star instead of being 2.
This is not a good album, and whilst I felt racist forming this opinion during repeated chants of "Do You Remember the Days of Slavery?" in my ears, continued listening showed it's still wasn't a good album.
Intended as protest through reggae, this doesn't stop it from being not a good listen. Fun soundscape, good musicians, but no thanks.

I've never listened to the kings of yacht rock before, and it was a very enjoyable experience. Would listen to another album of theirs.
At times, the long guitar solos did drift into customer-service, "please hold for 10 minutes" territory.

Lovely. Inoffensive late 00s soft indie, before the whole genre was infected too heavily by stomp clap hey ho.
