Interesting start into this journey. I'm not a Hip-Hop-listener and this was my first ride with a tribe called quest album. Push It All Along felt like a chore and left me very unenthusiastic for the rest of the album, but ... wow what sexy beats rewarded me for staying for track two. In general the vocal style felt a little outdated. If this album was made as instrumental Hip-Hop I would have rated it higher. My sandout tracks are Luck Of Lucien and Go Ahead In The Rain. Personal opinion: Influential, probably worthy of this list and I'm happy I listened to it, but nothing I will be craving to put on again. 2 Stars

Day 2 and another Hip-Hop classic. While I preferred the musical direction of People's Instinctive Travels And The Paths Of Rhythm, Public Enemy delivered the stronger album. Strong messages, rhymes, the immediacy of the delivery and the tight interaction of the vocalists add up to an Album I will likely revisit. Personal highlights are Black Steel and Don't Believe The Hype. 3 Stars

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Sep 30 2026

A tough review, as this is some kind of comfort album for me. It has a number of strong songs, including one of my personal favourites in the Beatles catalogue: Norwegian Wood. Rubber Soul marks a turning point in their music style towards psychedelic music (Sitar!) and is a very important Album in their discography, but overall not one of their best. I'd give it a 7-8/10, which is 3 Stars in my personal reference frame for the 1001 Albums.
