Porcupine by Echo And The Bunnymen

Not many standouts but I could have this on in the background

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
Oct 16 2026

Definitely not what I am used to but it was a nice album to ease into the morning. I had heard The Girl From Ipanema before which was a surprise. Overall on first listen not many tracks stood out, but rather tracks blend into a great collective.

Cosmo's Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Oct 17 2026

I had heard some of the singles. The pacing of the album makes a ton of sense for CCR. These guys don't disappoint. Not quite a 5 because I felt Ramble Tamble and I Heard It Through The Grapevine had some extended sections that were repetitive (although maybe that's the point of Ramble Tamble?)

Oct 18 2026

I don't think I had ever listened to the full album when I was younger. It made me feel like I was experiencing a theater production. Lots of atmospheric sounds cut with great riffs and spoken word. The Great Gig in the Sky surprised me in how it was structured.

Pornography by The Cure
Oct 19 2026

I've never been a big fan of Robert Smith's vocals. The album starts out very brooding and gets lighter as it continues. The '80s is not my favorite decade and this album suffers from some of the classic tropes of this time.

Oct 20 2026

I of course knew Wonderwall and Don't Look Back in Anger. A stand out for me was Some Might Say. This album just works for me, no other way to describe it.

Drunk by Thundercat
Oct 21 2026

Thundercat is unapologetically himself on this album. It's fun, it's drunk, and is sprinkled with pensive moments. It's not my thing but fun to have in the background b

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Oct 22 2026

The album sounds very samey from song to song. I couldn't get into it

Welcome To The Pleasuredome by Frankie Goes To Hollywood
Oct 23 2026

I was familiar with "War" having been referenced on Seinfeld, and had heard Bruce Springsteen's cover of "Born to Run". Two Tribes was probably my favorite track. The album blends together towards the end but I enjoyed it more than expected.

Oct 24 2026

I knew a few songs. Didn't know Sweetest Girl by Wyclef Jean was referencing C.R.E.A.M.. There were moments where I was in awe at the technical verses. Fun but didn't blow me away

Kilimanjaro by The Teardrop Explodes
Oct 25 2026

Lots of classic '80s elements right off the bat. As I started I was leaning towards a 3 but the second half didn't resonate as well. Not my style.

Highway to Hell by AC/DC
Oct 26 2026

There were a few decent songs. A classic rock album that I never checked out in full. I'd like to give a 2.5 but I'll round to a 3.

American Idiot by Green Day
Oct 27 2026

This was the first CD I ever owned (thanks Aunt Julie!) The album still crushes it 22 years later.

Songs Of A Lost World by The Cure
Oct 28 2026

Still not a fan of The Cure. These songs drag on and nothing instrumentally or lyrically grabs you. It wasn't awful but still not good.

The Message by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five
Oct 29 2026

I knew It's Nasty and The Message. The funkier songs were fun, and unfortunately some of their political messaging still rings true today. The middle of the album was not for me.

Hunky Dory by David Bowie
Oct 30 2026

I can't deny the talent of Bowie. Not every song captured me but a great piece nonetheless.

The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails
Oct 31 2026

When I first heard about NIN as a kid, I figured they were a heavy band. Then I grew up and found out this is what they are. The vocals nor the instrumentals grab me. About an hour too long

Tuesday Night Music Club by Sheryl Crow
Nov 01 2026

I knew the singles. I expected to like this one a bit more than I did, but there are no doubt some hits here.

Nov 02 2026

Very strange album. Didn't love the first song but I got more into the album as it progressed. You really don't know what to expect from one song to the next.

Blackstar by David Bowie
Nov 03 2026

It's a decent Bowie album with some fun moments.

Atomizer by Big Black
Nov 04 2026

Fun punk album which I quite enjoyed

Porcupine by Echo And The Bunnymen
Nov 05 2026

Not many standouts but I could have this on in the background

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Nov 07 2026

Funky fresh! I've never seen the movie or had heard any of the songs but this is a fun one.
