I could give this an extra star for being ahead of it's time, but REM did it better. Still great story telling and fascinating posture

Thanks to Tom Hanks I knew what (where) Guadalcanal is. Other than that this album didn’t land for me

This feels like knock off BNL. not into it.

“Mum, I want REM” “We have REM at home”

Very much reminds me of REM, which isn't surprising given that they were in the Georgia scene at the same time. For me it's missing that one thing that takes it from good to great. Can't tell you what it is, but when I listen to REM I hear it, but here it's missing. My personal rating: 4/5 My rating relative to the list: 4/5 Should this have been included on the original list? No.

80s jangle that can't touch REM with a ten foot pole.

I enjoyed this quite a bit actually in the realm of light a little quirky good melody indie but from 1984. American Jangle perhaps

It’s cute that an REM tried to write their own music. It’s even okay that they largely failed! Good for them! Honestly! I just don’t see why I should have to listen to it.
