Popular Reviews

Super fun and catchy. Realizing more and more why some rando on RYM described LCD Soundsystem as a carbon copy of Talking Heads (in a good way), even though he was totally wrong.

At Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash

Really good stuff. I might just go and get obsessed with Johnny Cash now

Bob Dylan probably just isnt my thing. I might enjoy it more if I try focusing on/reading the lyrics as I listen.

Chirping Crickets by Buddy Holly & The Crickets
Oct 05 2020

Good example of the type of music. Probably wouldnt listen again, but it might be worth finding a few favorite songs on the record

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
Oct 06 2020

Didnt hate it, like I have some Bob Dylan. His voice is kind of grating and the harmonica can be annoying, but I understand the lyrics are cool stories and stuff. Some great cool guitar stuff though.

Electric Warrior by T. Rex
Oct 14 2020

Pretty good overall. Last song had some questionable lyrics which makes me wonder if the rest did too and I wasnt paying attention

Pata Pata by Miriam Makeba
Oct 21 2020

Cool to hear some traditional South African music. The last song is an interesting story of the colonization of South Africa, so far as I could tell on the first listen.

Crocodiles by Echo And The Bunnymen
Oct 23 2020

Good stuff. Not just the new-wave synthpop I expected, but a bit more like post-punk.

Like A Prayer by Madonna
Oct 26 2020

Not bad, but kinda boring and felt way too long.

Oct 29 2020

Cool rhythm and flow, so dang much misogynism and talk about sex.

The Doors by The Doors
Oct 30 2020

Pretty cool stuff

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Nov 04 2020

Surprisingly, I did not hate this. A lot of it sounded like the kind of stuff bluegrass bands play at Music on Main.

Liege And Lief by Fairport Convention
Nov 06 2020

Very very folk-music stuff. That isnt very descriptive. It was fine, but I think it is really some story-telling music that may not be my thing. Worth listening to again.

Cafe Bleu by The Style Council
Nov 09 2020

Kinda weird mix of stuff. Some nice and/or groovy parts, but mostly bad.

Here, My Dear by Marvin Gaye
Nov 13 2020

Smooth and sexy, but not terribly remarkable. Might go back.

Bad by Michael Jackson
Nov 19 2020

Some fun songs, but mostly pretty annoying and cheesy. Smooth Criminal is good. Speed Demon and Man in the Mirror were better than expected.

Autobahn by Kraftwerk
Nov 23 2020

Not quite as horrible as that garbage "the man-machine", but I still didn't like it.

Parachutes by Coldplay
Nov 24 2020

Good album overall

Dec 02 2020

Super fun and catchy. Realizing more and more why some rando on RYM described LCD Soundsystem as a carbon copy of Talking Heads (in a good way), even though he was totally wrong.

Dookie by Green Day
Dec 07 2020

Better than I expected. Not a lot of super interesting stuff, but decent energetic punk

Station To Station by David Bowie
Dec 23 2020

Good. A little too 70s psych for me, but good.

In Utero by Nirvana
Dec 25 2020

Alright, but kinda boring. Fun to hear the influences, but I can't really see myself going back much.

Rust Never Sleeps by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Dec 29 2020

Always thought Neil Young was like super annoying 80s stuff, but this was pretty cool folk stuff. Not bad.

London Calling by The Clash
Dec 30 2020

I've liked this album for yeaaaarrrrs now!

Be by Common
Jan 04 2021

really good low-swear Christian rap. Good stuff.

At Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash
Jan 05 2021

Really good stuff. I might just go and get obsessed with Johnny Cash now

Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Jan 07 2021

Kinda goes on too long, but pretty good. Has a few fantastic songs.
