1001 Albums Summary

SCORE: 7/10 The Horace Andy tracks are mediocre, the Shara Nelson tracks are spectacular, and the rapped tracks are pretty solid.

3/5. A lot of the vibe reminds me of early Lou Reed? Some of it is really obnoxious, some is absolutely slammin'.

4/5. Some of my favorite Cohen material (Avalanche, Dress Rehearsal Rag, Famous Blue Raincoat) and some of my least favorite (Diamonds in the Mine)

Of Michael's "imperial" period, I think this is the worst? It's not as consistent as OTW, and doesn't have the highs of Thriller, but it's still solid. "Bad" is just okat, it's plodding and feels weightless. 4-7 are all trash, except "Man In The Mirror", and then three of MJ's best songs close it out. 3/5

not as good as holv but still great. more gothy, production is harsh

I think this has lost a lot of the impact it once had, but still stands as a groove ass album.

4/5. The back half gets a little plodding (I Got The Blues especially feels useless) but the high energy tracks are spectacular blues jams and the ballads are the most iconic and well put together of their catalogue
