Guitar Town
Steve EarleThis is good songwriting, and not pandering BS. Music and hooks are catchy. Lyrics are hard hitting, but still are down to earth and relatable. Highlight tracks: 2, 3, 4, 6

Great from start to finish. All tracks highlight.
Funky beats, but vocals are not my thing
It's like Prog-Rock for Spanish music. Lots of good musicianship, not much to remember. Highlight Tracks: 3, 7, 11, 12
Inoffensive generic rock and roll, with vocals that Dave sings 3 octaves too high. Nothing "bad" but most certainly nothing "great". Highlight Tracks: 2, 7, 9, 11
Very skillful for all instruments. Nothing I would listen to again though. Drum solo on track 3 is the highlight.
Beautiful noise for the counterculture. Out of tune guitars and flat vocals still provide punchy, noise driven, hard hitting rock and roll to get the mind thinking of rebellion. Highlight tracks: 4, 5, 12, 14 (and more)
This is good songwriting, and not pandering BS. Music and hooks are catchy. Lyrics are hard hitting, but still are down to earth and relatable. Highlight tracks: 2, 3, 4, 6
Sometimes a bit to white male 70s rock for my taste. Highlight Tracks: 4, 6, 7, 8
Good jammin' Highlight Tracks: The short ones
Inconsistent, but very good when it gets its stride. Highlight tracks: 4, 8, 9, 10
I think my hatred of this album goes back to me not liking dance clubs. And probably even further back to high school dances. Either way, I think I would need drugs to enjoy it. File it in the trash bin. Highlight Track: "I see".
First half > Second half Highlight Tracks: 1, 2, 5
Mostly forgettable, but not terrible to listen to. Good background music. "The Message" is good for it's commentary, but not the music. Highlight Track: "The Message"
Smooth as butter
Amazing output. The soundscapes here are phenomenal. Nothing bad on this album. The 2nd side medley might be the finest 17 minutes of music ever made. Highlight tracks: 1, 2, 4, 7, 9-17 medley
Music is fine, but ruined by bad vocals and vocal mastering. If you are going to commit to punk style raw vocals, the music has to be equally shitty for it to work. Highlight track: 2
What a powerhouse of an album. Fast, clean, and cheap is right. Songwriting is thought provoking, sound is clean, while 3 chord music blisters in the background. This is what ALL punk should aspire to. Highlight tracks: ALL (especially 1, 2, 6, 11). Gary Gilmore's Eyes my favorite track of the whole review process so far.
Too much "fluffy feel good" for me. Plus I hate the early tinny production. Highlight tracks: 3, 6, 9, 13 (deluxe)
Not a huge fan of the softer, high pitched voices used in this album. For a hard rock album, it's decidedly soft. Rock Opera is a cool concept, but some real strange tracks exist to hold the confusing narrative together. Highlight Tracks: 4, 8, 13, 21
High paced indie rock that brings everything to the table. Starts and never lets up. Highlight Tracks: 1, 2, 9, 11, 13
Should have 3/4 hour of bewilderbeast. Ends up feeling same-y for a good majority of the album. Then when he does change it up with Disillusion, halfway thru you want it to go back. He does folk-pop well, and I guess needs to stick to it. Almost nothing stands out, this is just a collection of okay songs. Highlight Tracks: 1, 5, 12, 17
What a debut. Some songs that aren't so great, but they still keep the vibe going. If you like hard rock that doesn't waver on that description, it's a good album to hear. Highlight Tracks: 1, 5, 6, 7, 9
Too instrumental, while also being boring, for me. Songs weren't even that long but still dragged on. Just nothing to hook onto to. Highlight Tracks: 1, 4 (minus the middle), 8
As intellectual as the lyrics are, poetry is not my jam. The music blends together, seeming one big song of an album. It's not bad, it's actually probably quite good and important, just not my taste of folk rock. Highlight Track: 5
Beautiful. Just absolutely immersive listening. This is storytelling and songwriting. This is not folk. This isn't bluegrass. This isn't country. It's John Prine and this is music I can get behind. Highlight Tracks: ALL
U2 meets Oasis and it's not as inspired as either of the parts. What's with this list and high-pitched vocals? Highlight Tracks: 3, 4, 7
"Interesting" is really all I can come up with Highlight Tracks: 1, 2, 6, 12 (minus the 6 minute final note)
Interesting lyrics, love the folk rock style, but my man Leonard Cohen can't sing. And it hurts the album tremendously. When I say "interesting", it doesn't always mean good. I found it tough to get through. Highlight Tracks: 1, 3, 4
Misdemeanor doesn't mince words, and isn't afraid to share what's on her mind. In her effort to save hip-hop she mostly succeeds. Highlight Tracks: 3, 4, 6, 8
Took me like a week to finish. Boring. Highlight tracks: 2, 6, 8
Second half better than first. Not my kind of music. Highlight tracks: 4, 5, 6
I prefer the heavier Led Zeppelin Highlight Tracks: 1, 3, 5, 9
If I was Jamaican this would probably be better Highlight Tracks: 2, 10
Could be worse Highlight tracks: 3, 6, 12
Nothing special. No highlight tracks. Just was listened to, not enjoyed.
My dislike of this album is equal to my dislike of the entire grunge genre Highlight Tracks: 3, 7, 11 (deluxe)
Interesting, but overall not my style. Highlight Tracks: 3, 8, 13
The second half is much better than the first, minus the title track. Highlight Tracks: 1, 7, 10
Did not need to be a double album. Highlight tracks: 2, 6, 8, 5(D2)
Good Enough to keep my attention. Highlight Tracks: 5, 6, 11, 13
Great from start to finish. All tracks highlight.
I'll stick to the studio versions. You could show up 45 minutes late to this show and not miss a damn thing. Highlight tracks: Disc 2: 2, 3
Not very memorable for me. Highlight Track: 6
Gets a star for maybe being good background noise
Not a favorite of mine, the genre. The hits are decent. Highlight Tracks: 1,2,3,6
Decent Christmas songs. Good mixing. Too bad he murdered someone.
Easy listening, love the drum solo on Aja. Good tight music.
No
Sounds like they did it all in one take, and didn't throw anything away. I get that it's the genre, but why?
Good to put on and forget the problems of the world. But that's not enough to merit a high regard.
Great from start to finish. A very solid effort. Could have done without the iron man cover tho.
Classic album. Even if you don't like the genre, you'll still have something to like here. Highlight Tracks: 1, 2, 6, 10
Not a bad listen Highlight Tracks: 5, 8, 12
