The best from this album IMO: - Everything In Its Right Place - How to Disappear Completely - In Limbo - Idiotheque 3.4/5
The best from this album IMO: - Tiger Mountain Peasant Song - Blue Ridge Mountains Sounds a bit too generic for me. Some songs sound the same. Not a big fan of folk music though. 2.8/5
The best from this album IMO: - Serve the Servants - Heart-Shaped Box - Rape Me - Dumb Had never heard the full album before. I only knew their hit singles. Very solid stuff. C'est cru, défoulatoire, pure. 3.9/5
Not my style, but was surprised by the first few songs. I caught myself singing to some of them. Voice is crystal clear, maybe a bit too generic for me though. Lyrics are quite simplistic. 2.7/5
The best from this album IMO: - Willow - No Body, No Crime This album didn't catch my attention. I can recognize she has talent but her music just isn't for me. 2.0/5
The best of this album IMO: - Good To My Baby - She Knows Me Too Well Repetitive. But catchy. The mixing sounds inconsistent in some tunes. 2.9/5
The best of this album IMO: - Ramble Tamble - Run Through The Jungle - My Baby Left Me - I Heard It Through the Grapevine Didn't know this band until today (Nov. 23th 2021). Sounds like a classic. Hard jams. Groovy. Delicious. The kind of songs you hear in cool movies. 4.0/5
The best of this album IMO: - So Tough - Newtown - Liebe And Romanze (Slow Version) Unique album. Very weird. I enjoyed it. I wonder if Björk knows this band, if she does I can hear the influence. 3.2/5
The best of this album IMO: - Candidate - She's Lost Control - Shadowplay - Wilderness - Interzone I like how imperfect it sounds. But it's almost grating at times (especially the vocals). That's the charm I guess. I had high expectations for this album and was not disappointed. 3.8/5
The best from this album IMO: - Glory - Never Said - Mesmerizing - Gunshy - Stratford-On-Guy Not bad. Very interesting chords at times. Some songs remind me of Blur. 3.3/5
The best of this album IMO: - If Only - You Would Know - How to Handle A Rope (A Lesson in the Lariat) - These Aren't the Droids You're Looking For - I Was a Teenage Hand Model It's very good. Some chord progressions are unexpected, which I like. Many catchy songs. Some tunes are a bit on the weird side. 3.7/5
Generic alt rock music. Unfortunately boring to listen to. Just "meh." 2.2/5
The best of this album IMO: - Runnin' with the Devil - I'm the One - Jamie's Cryin' - Little Dreamer - On Fire Talk about a fun album to listen to. I love the voices, the harmonies, the energy. 3.8/5
The best of this album IMO: - Know - Peephole - P.L.U.C.K. (for the chorus) Easy to listen to. Non-stop action. 3.2/5
The best of this album IMO: - Maggot Brain - Can You Get To That - Hit It and Quit It I need to listen to this album while high lol. I recognize how it's a classic but I can't rate it more than 3.3/5. Groovy as hell though.
The best of this album IMO: - You're Just A Baby - Electronic Renaissance Too calm and sweet. Not my type of rock/indie/pop. Their electronic side is way more interesting to me (like with Electronic Renaissance). I was very bored by the end of this album. 2.2/5
The best of this album IMO: - Grumpus - The Butcher Boy Boring... Not my thing at all... I usually love falsetto voices but this one is awful. There better be a Gorillaz album (my favorite band) in this list because I don't understand how Nixon can be in the top 1001. 1.4/5
Not bad I guess? But I was expecting more on the psychedelic side. 2.4/5
The best of this album IMO: - Bombast - L.A. Sounds like they recorded the first songs that came in their minds while in a jam/improv session. It's not a bad thing. Some songs lack variation - they repeat the same lyrics and same riffs over and over and over, like looping the same 4-bar sequence ad infinitum (j'exagère un peu). I enjoyed the more instrumental songs like Bombast and L.A. These are the kind of songs I get in my fever dreams. 2.8/5
Thest best of this album IMO: - Ocean Size - Jane Says - Thank You Boys Okay rock. 3.0/5
The best of this album IMO: - Tutti Frutti - Baby The energy! The passion! The power in his voice! Rock'n'roll! 3.2/5
The best of this album IMO: - Pouring Rain Sounds like each song belongs in a different album or band. Ska, blues, metal, reggae... I like diversity but it doesn't sound well in this album. It's like they don't know what their band is about. Weird album. 1.7/5
The best of this album IMO: - Poor Boy I think I don't like folk music. 1.9/5
The best of this album IMO: - Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough - Rock With You - Get On the Floor - Off the Wall - I Can't Help It (the beginning made me realized that it was sampled by De La Soul for "Breakadawn"...!) A classic!! Let's dance! Let's groove! When the album ended I was like "That's it?" Needed to be longer. But it was juicy. 4.0/5
The best of this album IMO: - Parade This album did nothing for me except for Parade, which sounds quite different from the rest of the album. 2.7/5
The best of this album IMO: - The Spiderbite Song Don't like the orchestral arrangements... It doesn't fit well... I like the heavy drums though. Voice isn't the greatest. Mixing is weird on some songs but it has a certain charm. After having a second Flaming Lips album on this list I can say that this band is not for me and it's okay. 2.7/5
The best of this album IMO: - Song of Love - Blues Man A nice balance of folk, country, rock and blues. Their blues and rock songs are the best of this album. I'm less a fan of folk. 3.1/5
The best of this album IMO: - Glass Onion - Wild Honey Pie - Happiness Is A Warm Gun - Rocky Raccoon - Julia - Yer Blues - Sexy Sadie It lives up to the hype. Honestly super enjoyable. "Side one" is the best out of the four. Album is long though. 4.1/5
The best of this album IMO: - No Man's Land - Here I Go Really not a fan of the voice (especially in If It's In You). Music is minimalist, calm, nothing big and feel-good. Not really my thing though? 2.4/5
The best of this album IMO: - Blitzkrieg Bop Vocals are a bit too much the same over and over. Riffs too. Like if you've heard one of their songs, you've heard them all. 2.7/5
The best of this album IMO: - Dance Or Die - Faster - Tightrope - Neon Valley Street I love how fast-paced it sounds. C'est limite big beat. Great voice. Fantastic beats. Colorful! Great variety in the songs with the voice effects and whatnot. 4.3/5
Sweet album, pleasant to listen to. Bordering on boring maybe? 2.9/5
The best songs of this album IMO: - Fortune Teller Generic rock band from the 90s. 2.4/5
Never been a fan of progressive rock... Never been a fan of songs longer than 5 minutes either... This album isn't for me. There are some good moments but for the most part, meh... The only song I knew by them beforehand is Owner of A Lonely Heart which is a delight. I was excited for this album but you know. 2.3/5
The best of this album IMO: - Drugs It's okay. Nothing memorable in my opinion, except Drugs. Mmm, drugs. 2.7/5
Songs are long, which I'm not a fan of. But it's got some good ol' jamming sessions. 3.0/5
The best of this album IMO: - Impact (The Earth Is Burning) - Monday - Halcyon + On + On Not bad. 3.2/5
The best of this album IMO: - The Visitors I was never a fan of ABBA, I always thought they were overrated. They're not for me that's for sure. J'ai jamais trippé sur les chansons qui sonnent comme des balades. 2.3/5
The best of this album IMO: - All Falls Down - Jesus Walks - The New Workout Plan - School Spirit - Two Words - Through the Wire - Family Business 3.6/5
The best of this album IMO: - Take Me to the River This is my second Talking Heads album. I can't say that I'm a fan. It's was just "okay." Take Me to the River is a jam though. 2.7/5
The best of this album IMO: - Most Anything You Want (especially the keyboard) I don't like the voice... 2.9/5
The best of this album IMO: - California Stars - One By One Not my style but enjoyable. I prefer the more country songs. I imagined myself listening to this album while chilling out under the sun in Sandy Shores. 2.8/5
The best of this album IMO: - Hello - Roll With It - The Swamp Song - Excerpt 1 - She's Electric - Morning Glory Great tunes. Gotta love British rock and Britpop. Oasis truly has a unique sound, they're recognizable. (But I don't like Wonderwall lol. Mostly because of the hook though.) I still prefer Blur. ;-) 3.5/5
The best of this album IMO: - Good Fortune - Beautiful Feeling - This Is Love I like the singer's vibe. I didn't know her before this list. She sounds iconic. 3.3/5
The best of this album IMO: - People I recognize the talent but this list made me realize that I don't enjoy folk music. 2.7/5
The best of this album IMO: - 15 Step - Bodysnatchers - House of Cards - Jigsaw Falling Into Place Ah, this album... Loved it as a teen. Still holds up today for sure. 3.7/5
The best of this album IMO: - Concrete Jungle - Slave Driver - Baby We've Got A Date (Rock it Baby) - Stir It Up - Kinky Reggae - No More Trouble Any Bob Marley &The Wailers album is historical. I like when they're letting the music breathe, when they're just jamming out just like in Stir It Up. 4.4/5
Good detective and porn music from the 60s-70s (in the beginning of the album). It was okay... Standard soul album about love and charming babes. 2.6/5
The best of this album IMO: - Percolator - The Noise of Carpet Unique sound. Goes on the weird side. It's entertaining and interesting. Main voice melodies are a bit basic, not very creative. French fits well with the style, alors c'est bien. Music can unfortunately be repetitive despite its uniqueness. 3.1/5
Cool jams but songs are too long... Ça devient interminable... And I don't like live albums. La musique finit par juste être une trame de fond. 2.3/5
The best of this album IMO: - Devil Eyes It was okay. 2.8/5
The best of this album IMO: - Midnite Blue Aggressive and lively. Sweet jazz. Entertaining. Window to the past. 3.2/5
January 15th 2022. First time listening to Bob Dylan. I know he's iconic but I just can't with his voice. I assume it's part of his charm, but I can't stand how it sounds. I don't like live albums either so this is just not for me. And with only his voice, a guitar and a harmonica for the first half of the album, it becomes more and more boring to listen to. At least the songs become more lively on the second half, and his voice fits the music better. The best of this album IMO: - Tell Me, Momma 2.4/5
January 16th 2022. The best of this album IMO: - Mothership Connection (Star Child) - Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof off the Sucker) - and now I know where the original sample comes from for that one Snoop Dogg song! I wants to get funked up! Enjoyable. I like tracks where the musicians are jamming and the singers are talking over the music with some random music shit. Good funk. 3.2/5
January 19th 2022. The best of this album IMO: - Love In Vain - Let It Bleed I know they're a classic but I'm unfortunately not familiar with The Rolling Stones. This was pleasant. Ça s'écoute très bien. Didn't expect country music. Great energy. 3.4/5
January 19th 2022. The best of this album IMO: - Pictures of You - Lovesong - Lullaby - The Same Deep Water As You It's dark, mostly slow, I like it... It's a mood... Songs are long but it doesn't bother me this time. 3.8/5
January 20th 2022. The best of this album IMO: - Piggy - March Of The Pigs - Closer - Ruiner - Eraser - Reptile - The Downward Spiral - Hurt Raw, powerful, visceral, animalistic. Sexy. Twisted. Demented. I want Trent Reznor to whisper the word "piggy" to my ears over and over again. 🤫 Same for the lyrics of "Closer". The Downward Spiral song is driving me crazy. Phenomenal album. 4.5/5
January 22nd 2022. The best of this album IMO: - Don't Cry - Revival Man I love me some hipster music. 3.2/5
January 24th 2022. The best of this album IMO: - Not a fan of the voice. Album was okay. Some songs are repetitive. 2.8/5
January 24th 2022. The best of this album IMO: - Thoughts of You He's a bit intense and dramatic but it's enjoyable. 2.8/5
January 24th 2022. The best of this album IMO: - I Hang Suspended - Rodney King (Song for Lenny Bruce) - I've Lost the Reason The balance between calmness and aggressivity is a bit hard to endure sometimes. But I love me some britpop. 3.2/5
January 26th 2022. Finally a Madonna album. :-) The best of this album IMO: - Like A Prayer - Express Yourself - Til Death Do Us Part - Keep It Together - Act of Contrition Makes me nostalgic and I wasn't even born when that album came out. Certaines chansons ont vraiment mal vieilli... Genre "Dear Jessie", je trouve cette chanson nulle à chier instrumentalement. "Keep It Together" est tellement années 80 c'en est crampant. What's interesting to me is how Madonna can sing well, but how her voice isn't beautiful. She hits the notes perfectly, but in no way is she one of the best singers of all-time. But she sure does how to make iconic pop. "Act of Contrition" is... something. Chaotic. A classic overall. 3.6/5
