Songs Of Love And Hate by Leonard Cohen
Dec 10 2022

Lyrics were great, guitar was decent, and Cohen's voice is not my cup of tea. Feels like he has barely any vocal range for a famous singer.

Dec 11 2022

Big fan of the 80's music sound in general so this album was pretty fun. There were a few songs that weren't nearly as strong as the highlights Poison Arrow and The Look of Love, so I can't quite give it a 5. Solid album overall though.

Synchronicity by The Police
Dec 13 2022

This album is a mix of really good songs and utterly mediocre ones. Thus, it will balance out to a 3.

Floodland by Sisters Of Mercy
Dec 14 2022

Too much edge to my Rock n Roll.

American Pie by Don McLean
Dec 15 2022

This album, like many others, suffers from having a much weaker back half compared to the first few songs. American Pie the song is also clearly the best of the album so beginning with this song just makes the rest of the album seem worse than it is. Still, after listening to it for a second time with headphones, it makes for decent background music while doing other work. The only song that I didn't like after the second listen was Everybody Loves Me, Baby, so I will bump it up from a 2 to a 3. In summary, this is a decent album that just doesn't have enough great songs to make me want to keep going back to listen to it.

Dec 17 2022

I went in expecting to really like this album considering that I like the general sound of disco but ended up being fairly disappointed. While the songs may be better in a disco club setting, the extreme repetition of lyrics and the unneeded extra minute or two of each song does not make for a great listening experience at home for me personally. The production and instruments were nice though and the singles were definitely the strongest songs on the album.

Ananda Shankar by Ananda Shankar
Dec 29 2022

I prefer music to have lyrics, so 40 minutes of almost exclusively instrumentals was really not to my taste. Also, the ringing sound in Sagar (The Ocean), the song that makes up for more than a quarter of the album, really bothered me.
