landmark riffy stoner rock. i really love this album, but QOTSA would scale to more glorious heights on subsequent releases.
So so 80s sounding. Enjoyable but didn't stick with me.
enjoyed it. dense funk. would like to regularly revisit.
Glad I listened. Won’t really return. Too shout rap-y
Fun funky background music. Good party soundtrack

Good. Won’t ever actually listen.
Hell yeah
revisit. enjoyed the 90s sleazeball vibes
So cheesy. Would rather listen to literally any other hard rock. But, gotta respect.
Chill and weird in all the best ways
15 year old me loved this. 35 year old me loves this just as much.
It's not Aja. Enjoyable, easy listening, smooth yacht rock. Nothing too innovative to my ears.
enjoyable, but sounded like generic background head nodding dormroom rap. maybe just a testament of how influential their sound was
how did i miss amy winehouse? embarrassed this was totally a musical blind spot to me. 2 listens through and loved the jazzy r&b with swagger and flair.
slept on it, and i have to award 4 stars. it's a classic of the era, but i'd elevate the best of animal collective, bon iver, fleet foxes, dirty projectors, wolf parade etc over this. still, this album holds up incredibly well. delicate, lush, colorful, melancholy, layered songs without any duds front to back.
this is what 5 stars sounds like. listened to this back to back last night, finding new layers to enjoy each time. going to be listening to this a whole whoooole lot this year.
really enjoy this, surprised at how solid and consistent this album is. kind of assumed this band was a one hit wonder. seems like prototypical 80s college playing hackey sack out on the quad rock.
enjoyable, but would rather just listen to nick drake
i do love dino jr, but cant say this is a 5 star album. there are other bands of their ilk with catchier more memorable songs, and bands with noisier more chaotic guitar. i personally prefer their post 2007 comeback albums over their earlier stuff.
a few great songs, but album gets bogged down. i'm glad they exist, but would rather just listen to the cure.
one of the best albums of all time. love the album structure. glorious space rock in both shine on. each of the middle 3 have such a unique floyd vibe. could be a top 10 album OAT for me.
loved this on first listen, what a cool discovery hidden gem. seems like the missing link between early pink floyd and T. Rex. Whimsical psychedelic brit pop meets garage-y glam punk. looking forward to revisiting.
80s classic. Album fucks
the first few songs rocked so hard i still haven't made it through the entire album. another one of those foundational bands i didn't have much exposure to. i'd be happy if every dive bar i ever walk into ever again is playing the stooges.
Liked much better than Paul’s boutique. Cool dense jazzy instrumentation and less grating shout rap. Still, not going to return to this often.
This just didn’t engage me at all
Had never sat down and listened to Janis. This album smokes front to back. So much soul
Warm 70s fm rock. Will love to revisit. Out of CSNY I am the least familiar with S
fun listen. liked instrumental steely dan.
landmark riffy stoner rock. i really love this album, but QOTSA would scale to more glorious heights on subsequent releases.
genuine 5 stars for me. this is one of the best "airplane" albums of all time, which is a compliment.
had always assumed deep purple was super cheesy glam rock. enjoyed this more than i anticipated, but probably wont revisit. iron maiden scratches this itch for me.
glad i listened, and i do appreciate rush. probably wont revisit.
my favorite stones album
great album! one of the best of the 2000s
love alot of later day ryan adams but havent ever spent time with this one. busier song writing, less vibey than alot of what i like of his. but solid!
obviously a classic. the opening minute of the opening track gives me chills
i'm not deep enough in bowie to know where this ranks. enjoyed it but liked it less than ziggy stardust or low, which are my go-tos
it's great! seems like a more cerebral, atmospheric, less rousing set of smiths songs
solid cock rock
very generic 90's trip hop elevator music
always felt like this album is a bit bloated and scattershot. but compared to their other airtight masterpieces, it's meandering length is why i love this release.
personal top 10 of all time. i love this album dearly.
