Emergency On Planet Earth
JamiroquaiCan see why Jan likes this, very funky. That being said the songs can be quite long and other than a few they are quite mediocre so 3/5 for me

Like random access memories and tame impala had a baby, decently groovy and funky but not quite to my liking. a little bit slow. A good song or two but the rest seemed like filler to me
funky soul, but nothing that blew me away. run charlie run was a surprise
Love Bowie but this album is quite samey, at least two really good songs on here though
Quintessential 70s rock
Song 2 is an absolute classic rest of the album solid but not mind blowing
Phenomenal from start to finish
Didn't do much for me, nice background music I suppose
Didn't do much for me
Nothing wrong with this album but for my money nothing to make it special either. Easy listening rock but no song stood out to me
Apparently this album is influential and that's why it is included in this list. The only thing this album influenced me to do was turn it off
Enjoyable
Very relaxing and enjoyable
Needs another listen to properly form an opinion, but I did enjoy it
Hesitant to put this as a 5 because I'd say it's closer to 4.5 but it's undeniable the influence and scale of the songs on this album, not something I would listen to regularly but great nonetheless
Listened to this 2 or 3 times back to back, surprised by just how much I enjoyed this rock. I'm wondering if chili peppers and the foo took any inspiration from this album because it just reminds me of lots of their stuff
I respect dolly as both a musician and a person but country is not my jam. A few nice instrumentals but other than that nothing here for me.
Enjoyable but not groundbreaking
1st song has a really good instrumental - voice is a bit odd? Track 2 also has really fun percussion and guitar work, and it's that screaming that's not quite screaming that's actually enjoyable Didn't really enjoy song 3, just too long. Also apparently it's about Ted Bundy, fucking lol Really enjoyed the use of various instruments further down the album, like the steel drums and what I think was the violin.
Arguably quite a one-note album, enjoyable songs on here but they are all too similar

Like a prayer is very catchy and I really enjoyed the collab with Prince but this isn't really an album that I personally would listen to very often. Still liked it
I don't know, just kind of lacked heart I think
Really beautiful lyricism and gospel sounds. A very distinct voice as well.
Quite enjoyable, not usually my type of music but I found myself having more fun than expected
Not a single song really stood out to be honest, though I did enjoy the album as it is unique and the references to pirate radio was fun
Probably needs another listen, it was alright though
Definitely understand the comparisons between radiohead and muse so it's no surprise I enjoyed this as much as I did
It was pretty good, not really my music though but the first couple of songs are very catchy
This feels unfair on this album but I feel like throughout the process of this 1001 albums thing I have listened to soooo many British punk rock bands from this era. There's nothing wrong with this but I'm just getting sick of the lack of variety? How can all these albums be influential when they all sound the same? I'll give it a 3 because this wasn't a fair assessment and the music isn't bad
Beautiful music in this album, no notes
Really enjoyable, not really a genre I have listened to much but this album was fun
Very funky but slightly repetitive
Fun album, the message is obviously a standout
Quite boring honestly
Very interesting insight into music I haven't heard much of. Not something I could listen to regularly but the music is very enchanting
Pretty fun, nothing groundbreaking but I enjoyed it quite a lot
Not really my type of thing, it's not inherently bad just not my music
Really enjoyed it
Good all round but I preferred revolver
Decent but nothing groundbreaking
Really enjoyable and different to stuff I normally listen to
Yeah I mean it's nothing special
Really enjoyed the album from top to bottom
Not my thing
Boring
Not a surprise that I enjoyed this, Nile makes excellent music
It was alright, slightly boring I would argue
Decent
Need to give it another listen
Very distinct voice, and some of these songs were very catchy
Not for me
Surprised how much fun I had listening, Geoff is really on to something here
4/5, once again surprised by how much fun this was
Nice and soothing albeit slightly dull
Fun
A few songs I really liked whilst the rest was quite middle of the road
Reminded me to listen to more arcade fire, but I prefer the suburbs as an album
Not really a jazz person but this was fun, I think if I was there for this recording I'd have a good time but it's not something I can see myself listening to much in the future
Good fun, I need to listen again for sure
Some good songs on here
Very enjoyable album
The album really grew on me as it went on, excellent instrumentals
Nice use of various instruments, nice background music but not something I could listen to much of for an extended period of time
Surprised by how fun this was
Really fun album from start to finish, classic rock
Good, but I thought I'd enjoy it more than I did
I mean this is not really my music, and so went in with little expectations.. but I can see why people think that Kanye is a very talented musician despite being a troublesome character. Some of these songs were like 4 but the album as a whole, for me, is a 2
Cool background music I guess
Really unique, and I enjoyed it a lot
funky soul, but nothing that blew me away. run charlie run was a surprise
Good fun, true sound of the 60s
Was definitely groovy
Funky af
Really fun hard rock, two songs made my playlist so
Eh
