KIWANUKA
Michael KiwanukaNot a bad album by any means, just not my thing. Liked a couple of tracks, but some felt boring. I can see how it garnered critical acclaim.

Purely an instrumental album, but it was a pretty enjoyable listen. I think I had heard the title track somewhere before, and it was probably my favorite. Not sure how much re-listening I will do, but I put a few tracks on a playlist. The second half of the album felt weaker and it was naturally a little repetitive.

In reality I'd give this album something like 3.5 stars, but of course that's not an option. It was impossible to *not* move along to the songs. Fun listen :)
After my initial listen, I didn't really understand why this album was getting so many good reviews. I ended up listening to it one more time later in the day, and for some reason the songs clicked. Really cool album!
Really enjoyed this one. Listened to it twice all the way through yesterday, and even started listening to 'Pink Moon' because I wanted more Nick Drake. I imagine I'll be playing his songs for a long time now. Thankful that this website recommended him to me :)
One reason this album is earning a 5-star rating is because it's better than each album I've given a 4-star rating so far. Another reason this album gets 5 stars is because it is awesome. Super fun, super fast, and all around just great music and a great performance.
This album does really shine at certain points, but for a lot of the time I spent listening to it, I just wanted it to be over so I could listen to something better... Many songs blended together, and Corgan's voice is well, not great.
I understand that Byrne's vocals might not be for some, but me personally, I love them. The bass lines and funky sounding guitar hooks throughout this album make it really fun, and very different. Absolutely awesome album.
I had been meaning to fully listen to this album for a long time now, and I'm glad I finally did! I think I still prefer 'Bryter Layter', but most of these songs were really great. I especially love the closer 'Saturday Sun' :)
There's a lot about this album that I don't love, but there's a lot about this album that I do love. It makes rating this one particularly difficult.
I had already heard this album (and liked it), but hadn't ever revisited the ambient tracks before. After re-listening to the full project once more, I think my rating now is still the same one I would have given it when I first heard it. Overall a great album! The title track is beautiful :')
Is any explanation even needed? I have considered 'The Dark Side of The Moon' to be my favorite album of all-time for quite some time now, and a re-listen only solidified that opinion. I don't even know where to start talking about this album. Just listen to it. All in one sitting, no interruptions. I think then you'll understand how I feel about it.
I can't even begin to describe what, exactly, I just listened to, but I really liked it. The percussion especially stood out to me throughout the album. A solid 4/5. I will be listening to more Julian Cope.
Sarah's voice is absolutely phenomenal. I'm taking from another review of this album when I say this, but it's entirely accurate and the perfect description of this album: It's just like a warm cup of coffee and a fuzzy blanket on a cold December evening around Christmas time. I love it!
I've heard this album before, and I'm aware of its reputation as one of the greatest, if not THE greatest punk rock album ever made. I would also consider myself a pretty big Ramones fan, and this isn't my favorite album of theirs. It's actually 'Leave Home'. I've never really understood why this one is the most popular, even after listening to it multiple times. However, for some reason, it definitely clicked a bit more this time. It doesn't surpass 'Leave Home' for me, but I think it passes up some of their other albums that I preferred. Gonna give it 4 stars. (And I fucking love Blitzkrieg Bop)
This one's just great. Probably my favorite Dylan album that I've listened to so far. It also features my favorite Dylan song, A Simple Twist of Fate. Easy 5 stars for me!
I'm not even gonna say anything besides I love David Bowie. Doesn't clear Ziggy though!
Pretty fucking cool honestly. Couple tracks on here that don't do it for me, but the rest is sick. Enjoyable listen!
A few songs stand out, but the rest kind of blend together. Not all that in my opinion. I definitely prefer 'Pleased to Meet Me'.
Disorder is great, Shadowplay is alright, the rest are just.... not good. I want to like Joy Division. But I don't.
Already heard this, it is amazing, literally only slays.
I had been meaning to listen to Neil Young for a long time, and I was not disappointed. A cool mix of folk and rock, just didn't particularly amaze me at any point. Solid 4 stars.
I've always thought this one was the best Smiths album. It's just the most complete in my opinion. The closer "I Won't Share You" is just beautiful. Not quite deserving of 5 stars though. But definitely the Smiths best work!
